QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Oct 16, 2017 -> 03:47 PM) Who exactly is preventing people from saying Merry Christmas? Im going to guess he is preemptively getting into a fight with large american corporations who he is going to call "Anti-American" such as Starbucks and other companies that he perceives to be a threat to his policies.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 16, 2017 -> 03:41 PM) Feel free to pile on greg, but at least I'm honest. I kind of like the fact Trump is standing up for "Merry Christmas." Now I do think there was no reason to say it this early. I mean typical motormouth Trump as it's not even Halloween or Thanksgiving yet, but yes I hate parts of the PC culture. Now I do recognize there are other religions and I applaud and also wish them well on their celebration days, though Hanukkah doesn't receive much mainstream publicity so sometimes it's here without me realizing it. My bad I know. I also laughed at SNL ripping Trump for his Merry Christmas proclamation saying they didn't see it as much of a problem as many people who are not Christian do wish Christians a Merry Christmas oftentimes. My point is, though the timing was weird, I do like the fact Trump said there would be a verbal assault on those organizations who prevent employees from saying Merry Christmas. Like I said, flame away on Greg. I've been blasted to my face before for my position on this. I am not intolerant of other religions. Far from it. I love all religions that do not endorse violence or satanic ritual, etc. Of course you like it. Trump is creating a myth to help him out. That being said, its best when our govt stays completely out of religion. You or your company wants to wish people Merry Christmas, have at it. You or your company wants to say "Happy Holidays", good for you. Your company wants to say "All of this is completely made up s*** but Ill gladly take some presents and a day off", be my guest. There is irony in a country that is found by protestants escaping religions now getting upset that their "majority" isnt being properly recognized. Almost like they forgot where they came from.

QUOTE (Jerksticks @ Oct 14, 2017 -> 12:15 PM) Yes but people who NEED 10k worth of medical care EVERY year AND make a bit more than the subsidy levels (the vast majority of Americans) are getting crushed with 10k a year they can't afford. Basically having a family, an ok job, and a house becomes near impossible. This is what most of America is going through since ACA. That simply isnt true. Its not "most" of America. Some people are "better" off, some people are "worse". You can look at this board as an example. There are a few people who have stated that when Obamacare was enacted things got worse for them. Most of the people on this board did not have a similar experience. In the same vein, I am "worse" off now that congress destabilized insurance this year. There may be some people who are "better". But the main issue that we have to decide is: "Does every American deserve good/affordable health insurance." Or do we believe "Health insurance is a luxury of the wealthy." I think health insurance should be for everyone.
-
QUOTE (raBBit @ Oct 13, 2017 -> 06:05 PM) How insured are you if you have a couple thousand in the bank and a 10K deductible? 10k is nothing compared to millions in medical bills. Not to mention if someone is making very little money then they would qualify for free insurance through the govt. And it sounds like you are advocating for a cap on deductibles, that would be a great idea, I bet that if Republican's worked with Democrats they could easily amend Obamacare to do that.

QUOTE (CrimsonWeltall @ Oct 13, 2017 -> 04:02 PM) No, not yours. But mine and LittleHurt's did. And Im not denying that at all. Rabbit was trying to blame the increase on Obamacare, when in my case it wasnt Obama. (edit) The more important point was that we can make healthcare better. But it requires not "destroying" what we have, and instead "fixing" it. Its my personal opinion that every American should have access to affordable healthcare and that no one should lose everything because of sickness/illness. (second edit) From a personal standpoint Obamacare probably did little to nothing to help me. But I know there are a lot of people who now have insurance because of it, so I still support the idea, even though I know it could be implemented better if Republican's would help.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Oct 13, 2017 -> 03:41 PM) For the same level of coverage? For me yes. Its the exact same plan from last year. The lowest plan this year costs about the same as the best plan last year.
-
QUOTE (CrimsonWeltall @ Oct 13, 2017 -> 03:40 PM) You have group insurance. If you were young and healthy prior to the ACA, individual insurance was really cheap. After the ACA, premiums went way up. My health insurance through BCBS went from $90/month to $300/month. I was fortunate that my status at work changed and I was added to their group insurance. Right, so it wasnt Obamacare that caused my premium to go up so drastically. Ive had the same plan through my employer for almost 10 years. Yet this year it doubled. Uncertainty is the worst thing for insurance companies, so until people realize that, expect random crazy insurance premium increases.
-
QUOTE (raBBit @ Oct 13, 2017 -> 02:30 PM) LOL. You realize that premiums were skyrocketing no matter who got elected because of Obamacare right? I dont know what would have happened. All I know is that under Obama my premiums slightly increased. First year under Trump they doubled. Thanks Trump. (Maybe you arent getting the joke, but this is what people said about Obama for years.)
-
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 12, 2017 -> 10:56 PM) I did fine with health insurance before the ACA happened. I realize that people like me are the guinea pigs that got compromised to help others in the ACA, but doesn't mean I can't complain about it. You didnt need to though. Had Republicans worked with Democrats they could have made healthcare cheaper/better for everyone. Now that Republican's are in charge my monthly premium doubled this year. Thanks Trump.

QUOTE (bmags @ Oct 12, 2017 -> 09:11 AM) I think I might be more disturbed in helping the yankees win a WS than the Cubs. Now Rutherford better pan the eff out. Im not. It should be a lesson to all those teams who were too cheap to trade for Kahnle/Robertson. T

Another "groping" allegation against Ben Affleck. Will be interesting to see if more come out and how bad it damages his career.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Oct 11, 2017 -> 06:23 PM) I dunno man, I tend to believe the deposition over the campaign trail interview 20 years later I'll post more later, but I believe what rabbit quoted statement was prepared by Trump's lawyer. Ivana is under a gag order and can't speak about the divorce without Trump's position. Rabbit didn't link thr article so all.of that information is left out. But yes a deposition under oath is more compelling (imo).
-
QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Oct 11, 2017 -> 04:21 PM) Pretty sure it was revealed in court during Donald’s divorce from Ivana that he both physically abused and raped her. Plus, he is/was pretty tight with Jeffrey Epstein No his attorney Michael Cohn clarified that, he said http://www.independent.co.uk/news/people/d...y-a6836151.html [spoiler Alert] You can rape your spouse.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Oct 11, 2017 -> 03:17 PM) This thread is about powerful men taking advantage of women with no repercussions. Trump is a great example of that. No hes not. Trump has never done that, all he ever did was admit to sexually assaulting women, but that's cool because its just "talk" and in our "culture" men sometimes accidentally misread the situation, so if they happen to put heir hand up a girls skirt, its just a mistake.
-
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Oct 11, 2017 -> 03:02 PM) But Trump said he didn't do that so case closed. Yeah kind of like that Harvey Weinstein, wonder when Rabbit will be starting his defense fund. You know poor Harvey, he grew up in a culture where it was expected that females would sleep with producers if they wanted a movie role.
-
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Oct 11, 2017 -> 03:01 PM) HAHAHAHAHAHAHA. They are literally all so similar its hilarious. The fact that you dont see that is crazy. Women have suffered at the hands of the president, just like the other men mentioned. He just explained that its okay for this type of behavior because "men have to make the first move and sometimes they are wrong." You know us men, sometimes I just put my hand up random girls skirts because thats what culture told me to do.
-
QUOTE (raBBit @ Oct 11, 2017 -> 02:57 PM) Women said he grabbed them by the p****? Yes: http://www.bbc.com/news/election-us-2016-37641814

QUOTE (raBBit @ Oct 11, 2017 -> 02:48 PM) Throwing the word rape around like commonplace to malign the character of your political opposition doesn't make it any better. We live in a culture where men are expected to make the first move. They're not a rapist when they read the situation wrong. Trump didn't drug anyone. Trump didn't make any insertions without consent. He didn't stick any objects you smoke into any orifices. He didn't drug anyone. He didn't promise a job. If what he's accused of is rape then I imagine the vast majority of our presidents are rapists. ARE YOU SERIOUS? Trump is alleged to have stuck his hand up women's skirts to grab them, forced his tongue down women's throats, inappropriately touched women during job interviews. This post and the whole "men making the first move" excuse is freighting and shocking. QUOTE (raBBit @ Oct 11, 2017 -> 02:52 PM) Mega DNC donator and friend of Clintons/Obama gets caught doing all sorts of sexual acts on people and the focus is on...a Trump quote from 2005. Youre living in a fantasy land. Weinstein has been the top news story on pretty much every outlet. The only reason people bring up Trump is because people (like you) defend the allegations against Trump because he is "their guy."

QUOTE (illinilaw08 @ Oct 11, 2017 -> 02:44 PM) Man, I'm glad that you know all those women were liars... Well isnt it obvious: Hollywood actresses are always telling the truth and therefore are 100% reliable. And the NYT is a very reliable source and should always be trusted. Anyone else, including but not limited to, businesswomen, journalists, Miss USA contestants, make up artists, porn actresses and waitresses are all liars looking for money. And the Guardian is a very unreliable source that should never be trusted.
-
QUOTE (illinilaw08 @ Oct 11, 2017 -> 02:38 PM) You asserted that it was only words from Trump. Crimson and I both provided you with a list of the many allegations of sexual assault against Trump (he seems to have a real issue with unsolicited groping). To the extent that any of those allegations are true, he has created victims - maybe not victims that suffered to the same degree as the victims of Cosby/Aiels/Weinstein, etc., but still victims. Why are you defending him? Why ask question when you know the answer? May as well put on your cross-examination hat at this point. Isnt it true that Weinstein and Trump were accused of using their power/influence to unlawfully touch women? Yes Isnt it true that Weinstein and Trump have never been convicted of a crime? Yes Isnt it true that a difference between Trump and Weinstein is the symbols ® and (D) next to their name? Yes No further questions your honor.

Tug in the box but no call. Wonder when sponsors start to step in because US not being in Russia could cost them millions.

Dempsey really miss struck that hit, but at least on goal. Everyone seems like they are playing in slow motion.
