NFL 2021 offseason thread

Could have had Winston for less money and not trade a draft pick. But the Bears under Pace always overpay to get their QB. -

Im not rooting for pure misery, but I am also going to be realistic. IMO the Bears are closer to a bottom 10 team than a top 5 team. Anything can happen in any game and sometimes the best teams arent the ones who win. But the point is to put your team in a position to have the best chance the most amount of times. I have no problem trying out Wentz, I have a problem with overpaying with draft picks for him. As for the Colts and the Bears, they are at completely different places. What makes sense for them, doesnt make sense for the Bears. (edit) I think the best argument against this deal, is that in no world should the Bears be outbidding the Colts. Wentz makes much more sense for them. If they arent willing to go where the Bears are, then the Bears shouldnt be either. -
I hope that Pace watched the Super Bowl and realized that even Mahomes cant win with an o lone that can't block 4 guys and a defense that can't stop anything. Hoard more picks, get more players. There will be other opportunities to trade 1st round picks for a QB if you do everything else right. This is the way.

The scheme where Mahomes is injured and their o line can't handle a 4 man rush. -

That was foolish and not sure what the defensive call was when they let Evans get deep. -

One of the worst reffed halfs I can remember. If your a KC fan you have to be pretty upset. -
Whoever paid money for the rights is foolish. You could have done this movie similar to social network and paid 0 for it. Reddit is a public forum. Not to mention the founder is worthless as he had no role in the recent GME/meme stock moves. But if anyone is reading and wants to give me $100k for some rights, id be glad to sell them.

This is on the presumption its basically foles 1st for wentz 2nd.
-
Its not horrible, it just isn't good. And to move up the Bears need good moves. But we shouldn't lie to ourselves, Eagles drated Hurts because they were worried Wentz wasn't good enough.
-
Its at minimum 2 more years of treading water, that is the problem. You're paying value and taking on money for a back up QB who has major issues.
-
This is exactly why keeping Pace was the wrong move. Wentz bad throw percentage is higher than Trubisky. He is a reclamation project. Again Pace is bidding just like Trubisky and Foles. You dont over pay for something that is a big question mark. If someone else wants to pay value fot Wentz let them.

Marlins and Rays could win the attendance title for their leagues.

Andy Reid's son was involved in an AA. Some suggestion that alcohol may have been involved. Children are injured. I cannot understand how you can take that risk when an uber/lyft is available.
-
The Bears were screwed the day that they kept Pace. The only path to being good was to trade any valuable asset to try and rebuild for the future when Rodgers is gone. But when they kept Pace they agreed to being terrible, because no way is Pace going to do the right thing and accumulate picks.

If he was licensed he should have known better. I was working off the assumption he was not licensed.

It is really with a lot of regret that I feel at this point it is inevitable that a lot of people are going to get crushed over the next few days. The whole idea of paper hands and diamond hands is foolish, there is only one type of hands and that is money hands. The entire point is to make money consistently. The GME event is a closer to a once in a lifetime event than a repeatable idea. The hedge funds are goliath and they beat them one time. The belief that somehow they havent been able to adjust or get out of their positions seems unlikely. This is closer to gambling than trading, its basically no limit hold'em, where you have the smaller stack and the worse hand. I hope I am wrong as I think it would be fun to see a mass of people get a big payday. If it can stay between 100-150, maybe there is something. But I think its more likely it goes down 50%.

The amount I put in is less than Ive made on a single long term position today. I basically just did it so that I can watch it on my all accounts screen.
-
Just for fun I bought at around $100. I let it dip one time and then it went back to $120 so it seemed like a possible floor. Usually I would have been more patient, but trying to get the absolute floor is impossible. Well see what happens, its just for fun. I didnt touch any of my real investment.

It seems like they are pretty delusional right now. Basically saying institutions are creating ladder attacks to artificially spook the market down. That institutions still need to buy more shares than are out there. Unlikely any kid who had thousands to throw at GME as a 10 year old likely came from a wealthy family and it wont make for a great headline. The other kids got GME as gift etc when it was $5 and you could give them 10 shares for $50 instead of 1 video game.

Where's our Liriano?

It was over last week, they retail traders just didnt realize it yet.

If Im Watson, there are the Colts, 49ers, Panthers. That isnt even getting into the more exotic ideas.
-
Youre not swayed by the fact that Watson isnt going to want to come to a team with a garbage offense? Let alone coming to a team where the GM and HC have no security? If I was Watson's agent the Bears would be pretty much at the bottom. If they loved my client so much, they could have drafted him over Trubisky. Not to mention, when the Bears trade away all of their draft capital, they will have garbage to surround Watson with. They probably wont even be able to keep Robinson. Watson would possibly have the worst WRs in the NFL.
-
Watson has a full no trade clause. The Bears have to be one of the bottom teams based on desirability. I cant see any scenario where they could convince him to join, unless they offer to let him pick a new GM and HC.

I get why they didnt slow play it more, but I wish they had set it up so that it was all sitcom episodes until the finale for this season.
