  1. Having a case and winning a case are very different. If the Sox manipulate his time properly, it would be difficult for Kopech to succeed. I would hope that the Sox have people working for them who are clever enough to figure out how to do that. Even more importantly it kicks the can down the road. Who knows what happens with Kopech, maybe he gets traded, maybe he signs a long term deal. So the risk of pushing back his call up to manipulate service time is low. Keeping down the 3 prospects is likely the best long term decision.
  2. FAKE NEWS. He ran a story about Derrick Rose returning from injury. Damn he already beat me to this correction, but still FAKE NEWS.
  3. Plan b should be kuechel. Not flashy or exciting but probably can get him for 3 year commitment.
  4. Hed only pay state income tax on home games, away games are paid at the rate of where the opposing team is located. It would take some complicated math to figure out (IE games in CA/NY etc) but its not $12mil more, my guess is something like $4-5mil.
  5. Remember yesterday when so many people told me I was wrong about this. I remember.
  6. Thats just crazy. What teams do you think would do it? How are the Nationals saving money? He was getting $100mil, now hes getting $120.
  7. Strasburg's market may be strange. I really doubt the Sox have any chance, but if someone offered something like 4 / 120, is anyone really going to beat that? Boras gets more money for him, so the opt out worked. But what team is really going 5+ years?
  8. Well not exactly the table, we were sitting in the same restaurant nearby and took a selfie that made us look like we were there.
  9. And 0% of them involve the White Sox. I tried to look up all 101 so I could see what teams made the offers, but it doesnt really matter. The post stated 5 years 100mil is not a big deal. That is just false when it comes to the White Sox, because it would be a record breaking contract. So to the Sox, the team we are talking about, 5 years 100mil is a big deal. I have no sauces as Ive stated numerous times, but businesses/negotiators/owners tend to follow patterns. If last year they were worried about the final years for Machado, you have to consider the fact that the final years for Wheeler may also be an issue. And we dont know the terms or if any was deferred, escalator clauses etc. All we know is that they didnt sign Machado.
  10. The Sox have 0 deals of 100mil in their history. So to this franchise its a huge record setting deal.
  11. Based on everything that I have ever known as a Sox fan the sox have always been extremely leery of long term pitching contracts. With Wheelers past health and not being a true ace, it stands to reason the Sox won't all of a sudden change who they are for Wheeler. Years was a major issue last year.
  12. Completely believable that the Sox are trying to find a way to get him at 4 years with 5 being an option for the team.
  13. Meant moving Pilkington for a 1 year rental. Maybe in a year or two it will start to make sense for the Sox to make that type of deal. But right now I still think they should be accumulating assets, not trading them for 1 year pieces.
  14. Just not a fan of it, but I could be wrong.
  15. Let me go on record as saying not a fan of trading Pilkington for 1 year rental.
  16. I know everyone is too busy watching Disney+ to talk about other shows, but anyone else watching Watchmen or His Dark Materials?
  17. Pace looks like a GM who is worried about his job.
  18. Officially Bears are now a disaster. At least Daniels slid in bounds to waste more time.
  19. As a Disney shareholder Im reporting Chili to the authorities! J/K Its been so long since Ive downloaded music or video games from the internet, I wouldnt even really know where to begin. Plus if you add the amount of time it would take me (Lets say 15 minutes), id technically have lost money in opportunity cost trying to find it. I paid something like $155 for 3 years of Disney. Thats about $4.30 a month.
  20. I think it was really well done. The end was a pretty big surprise.
  21. Seems to be working better for me as well. Its a great deal. So many movies and they will keep getting more as licensing agreements expire. You can actually search movies they dont have yet, and it will tell you the exact date they will have them if they are subject to an agreement. It does not seem to show what dates things like Toy Story 4, etc will be there. So should be interesting to see how long the delay is from Movie theater, sold in stores, to Disney Plus.
  22. Yep did the same. Logging in through the computer didnt work the first time, but seems to be fine now. Going to be able to clear so much dvr space now that I have all of the Simpsons on demand. Crazy to think that for the cost of buying all of the Simpsons dvds, you could have at least 5+ years of Disney Plus. Even for Star Wars the value is crazy. (Edit) Still getting some "Something went wrong try again later." But it was expected when you release something like this.
