Well biathlon combines something that is definitely sport, cross-country skiing. Whether shooting is a sport or skill depends on how you define it. I used to teach Archery and (in my opinion) I could teach anyone to hit reasonable targets as long as they did not have some sort of disability. Using a compound bow (or rifle) imo takes the sport out of it. If youre going to use a non-compound recurve bow, where you actually need to produce the force necessary to pull the arrow back and then hold it, yeah that is a challenge. But if your only challenge is to hold the bow still and point, thats no harder then playing duck hunt in my basement, which is definitely not a sport. As for what Mark said, its once again nonsensical. http://www.aspca.org/fight-animal-cruelty/...g-fighting.aspx Dog fighting can be even further traced back to Roman times, which I assume was before Grandpa Buerhle was born. I guess what Mark just doesnt understand is that one culture may look at dog fighting the same way as he looks at hunting. This is just a subject that most people argue based on where they sit.

Eminem over Jay-Z? That is (imo) insanity. Renegade is one of my favorite songs and while maybe Eminem murdered Jay on his own song, that doesnt mean that overtime Eminem is better than Jay-Z. Personally I think Jay-z from Blue Print 1 & 2 are some of the best rap albums. But at the end of the day arguing rappers is the equivalent of arguing who is better between Pink Floyd, Hendrix, The Beatles, Nirvana and Led Zeppelin. They are different styles so different people are going to rate one over the other. I have personally never been a huge Eminem fan, I like him in small doses but not over an entire album. My 2 favorite songs that include Eminem are Renegade and Whats The Difference (Chronic 2001). Its just how do I compare Outkast to Ice Cube? Both of them have different vibes and are good for different times.

The first judge may issue a stay, he also may not. If you are against a law the best way to fight it, is to prevent it from ever becoming a law. You just dont know what a district court judge will do. But this could be a case that gets expedited review if necessary.
-
Well its the case according to the news. And a state can pass a law that is in violation of federal law, you would then need to sue the state in federal court and that would take years. http://www.jsonline.com/news/statepolitics/116381289.html So its clear that the bill will take away bargaining rights. Whether or not that is in violation of federal law would be for some one that knows about that type of stuff to determine. It looks like a mess.

The Survivor "What If" commercials seemed to suggest that it would be pretty late in the game. Im pretty sure most if not all of the "What if" moments were post merge. They could do something where its the final 2 on the island and then the 1 from Redemption in the final 3. That would be odd.

Kristina's problem (who I have in my work pool unfortunately) was that she believed no one would even consider that she had the idol. She potentially could have made a big move, but she just didnt have time to fully understand the tribe dynamic. At this point she is in real trouble, except for the fact that maybe Phillipe is insane. I wish that farmer guy got more time.

I just meant that I would give them last night. At this point your at the mercy of the world. It looks like both Rob and Russell are on top of their games, although Russell is already having trouble with people thinking he is going to cause trouble. Hes gotta prove to be strong in the challenges to make sure that they keep him.

Survivor was good. Out of respect to fellow dvr users I will not discuss specifics.

Watching Purdue games is hard because it always feels like they are constantly fouling. Wisconsin could have won the game had they shot better, thats all you can ask for on the road. Leuer was pretty awesome for a while, Id love the Bulls to get their hands on him because I think hell be a great versatile bench guy. -
From some interviews that Ive read about Survivor Russel and Rob will have no advantage. Jeff thinks that people wont vote them out because they have a wealth of experience and can help people get far in the game. At least that is how I recollect the article.

So are you trying to tell me that Fox News is not fair and balanced? I wonder how much traction thatll get.
-
Both sides are full of it, I think most rational people can agree with this. Its not that difficult to figure out expenditures and either make more money than them or cut until you are at them. The problem is that both sides are looking at the issue idealistically instead of pragmatically.

A state could change their own laws to allow for murder technically. It would be similar to the make my day law, that some states have. Now federal law trump state law. So you could be prosecuted federally for murder under a federal statute. The easiest comparison is medicinal marijuana in Cali. In Cali its legal for certain entities to sell marijuana. The federal govt still could enforce federal drug laws against the people (and often did under Bush.) Well his real proposal was to allow the Bush tax cuts to expire which would have increased revenue. When you are balancing any budget you have 2 different ways to do it: A) Increase revenue and B ) Decrease expenditures. Unfortunately we have a group of people who are unwilling to do anything in terms of A). And unfortunately you can only cut B so much because B includes things that are necessary. Its like if a family had a budget. And the family needs to spend $100 a week to survive. If you only have $80 and you need $100, your only option is to make more money. You cant cut to $80 because you are dead anyways. Thus if you want to place blame, please place it on the people who are unwilling to pay more taxes to balance the budget. Unless you want to cut the defense budget down to what normal countries spend, then we probably can get some where. But as long as we cant cut certain things, our only option is to raise revenue. So you can call Obama a s***head until the cows come home, but it doesnt change the fact that we could have come pretty close to balancing the budget if Republicans allowed the US govt to generate more revenue. /shrugs Dont act pissed if you really dont want to solve the problem.

I want the Bulls to get Leuer. But thats just mainly being a homer. I really hope Taylor doesnt leave. it would have been unimaginable early in the year, but hes starting to get hype. -

I cant read lately. And this draft is really weak, a guy like Kanter could get in the top 10. -

Yeah and plenty of people believe that accusers never lie, but there is a reason why our society believes in innocent until proven guilty, its because its to easy to make accusations that can not be proven. In your opinion it happened, in my opinion it most likely did not. I really dont believe that not mentioning it to the media helps his case. A tweet you get to say what you want with no follow up questions. If he said it to the media he might have actually had to explain what happened and then we would be able to look at the evidence. Either way, I wouldnt blindly believe any person that I had never met regardless of how allegedly impeccable their reputation is. Its unfortunate that this had to become a national story, but what else do you expect when some one tweets about it to a national audience. -

Rock he made a pretty big deal about it, it was national news. And like I said, I generally would believe the player, they have caught many students on tape throwing things etc. The reason that I posted it is because Wisconsin fans who were at the game are adamantly stating that it did not happen. These are the same fans who get mad at the students for chanting "Diebler swallows". It just distracted from the game. If he didnt want to make a big deal about it, he didnt need to tweet it. And you can say this isnt the type of person to lie as much as you want, but how many athletes that people have said that about have done far worse? Innocent until proven guilty and I apply that even to accusations in general. Now like I said, if there was video evidence Id be saying that they should try and fin d the person and make sure they are permanently suspended. -
No they were censoring it. It happened more than 1 time.

It seems like Illinois needs 1-2 high energy guys. They have a ton of guys who can score but there are only so many shots for everyone. -
I dont know if he guards centers, all I know is that earlier in the thread people said that Lebron James never plays SG. His coach said he does. Whether or not he guards the 5 is irrelevant to whether or not Lebron can play SG. But right now the Celtics have Perkins playing the 5, Id say Lebron could guard him if you really wanted it.

How can a pg shoot under 60% at FT line? Thats just horrible youd think Rondo would work on it.

I generally would believe a player. But the evidence is some what overwhelming. In the second shot you can clearly see Sullinger walk off the court. The entire time he makes no motions to indicate that he has been spit on (if you are spit on you will have an immediate reaction as well as the wiping off reaction.) Now its possible that after the shot ends he is spit on. But his claim was that some one spit in his face during the court storming. From the tape its clear that there was a wall of security between him and any fan. In order for a fan to have spit in his face they would have had to spit through security. Dont you think that would have gotten some attention? If some one spits in my face, there is going to be an immediate unmistakable reaction. -

If I was at a game in college and people started storming, you better believe Im on the court with them. Also here are some clips from the Wisconsin/OSU after the game. Sullinger has been saying that he was spit on, but there has been absolutely no evidence. Further hurting the credibility of his statement was that he never said anything during or after the game, only tweeted about it. If it did happen, I wish Sullinger would have immediately gone to security and had the fan permanently banned from all Wisconsin games. Unfortunately its looking more and more like it did not happen. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hoiKAVOMeYo Judge for yourselves. The second clip is from the OSU sideline and you can clearly see a wall of security between the fans and the players.
