  1. Well Boozer just doesnt understand how to defend the pick and roll. There are only 2 options, switch or dont switch. Every time him and Rose have gone to the same guy, while Deng could rotate over the end result would be a man being wide open with the next pass. Boozer/Rose cant take the same guy on a pick and roll. So very odd.
  2. Pretty ridiculous the Bulls cant figure out how to call a play to take away the exact same shot Aldridge has been making all game.
  3. Ill trademark anyone's name for $375 (filing cost) + $150.
  4. This actually doesnt bother me. If we are going to be honest about our nuclear arsenals, and we are supplying Britain, we have a right to tell whoever we want what we sold. It seems really bad precedent to allow UK to have "secret" numbers of nukes, when we are trying to make sure nukes dont get into the wrong hands.
  5. If we are talking about fantasy basketball then I guess we have to consider Kevin Love a top 5 player. But since I dont care about who is the best fantasy basketball player, here are 5 players that Id take before Wade: Lebron, Rose, Durant, Melo, Howard, CP III and Kobe Kobe's age/durability are also a concern, but given his size/strength Id still take him this season over Wade. Just my opinion, but not sure how you can look at the top 10-15 or so players and say which 5 are definitely the top 5. Which is why the argument is so hilarious, because people are acting like there is a clear cut top 5, when there really is not.
  6. I have At&t dont love it but most of the time its good enough. Certain areas in the city have less reception, but overall I generally have as good of reception as most people. There are just some bad areas for cell reception in cities.
  7. Id argue that his assists should have increased playing with Lebron/Bosh as he should have a more reliable outlets when he passes. I just think when you look at Wade he is a depreciating asset. I like bigger guards, I thought that MJ was about the ideal size at 6'6, so Im not sure why Lebron at 6'8 cant play SG. Id also venture to guess that there have been definitely times that Lebron has been on the court and has played the 2. And it really doesnt matter, as I said I take scarcity into account. Whether Lebron is a SG/SF/PG he is still better than Wade. After that its pretty clear that the next 10 or so guys are just a matter of taste, so Im not sure why its so unbelievable that Wade is a top 10 player but not a top 5 player.
  8. Steve, I dont think I was all over the place, its more that people keep trying to twist what Im saying into nonsense. All Ive said in regards to Wade is that I do not believe he is a top 5 player. I never said he shouldnt be an All-Star. When asked who I would consider a better SG, I said Id take Lebron. Now people can say Lebron cant play the off-guard, but that is ridiculous. Its like saying Magic couldnt play PG because he was tall. Why would you want Lebron as a PF? So he can match up against bigger guys? Of course not, you want him at SG, because then a team would have to guard him with guard. Lebron is to physical for a guard he could dominate them in the paint and still has the quickness/strength to blow by them if he wanted. As for the rest, its entirely opinion on who is a top 5 player. I take scarcity into account, and I believe that SF/SG are the easiest positions to fill because there are the most amount of good players there. I think that C/PG are much more scarce and therefore when Im rating my top 5 players there were will be a general lean towards scarcity, unless the player is at a Lebron level. People are acting like Im saying hes not a one of the best players, all Im saying is he may not be one of the top 5. There are only 5 players who can fit in that group, and if I was starting a team today he would not be one of the first 5 guys I would take. This is based on my perception that he is not 100% healthy and that he may never get back there. Watching Wade play recently Im not sure how you can say his durability/health is not a question.
  9. Huh? Im saying that because his greatest gift is athleticism Im concerned about the wear and tear his body has taken.

I decided my quote of the month was Wayne Gretzky: "You miss 100% of the shots you dont take." It may be dont or ever seems like there is some debate.
  11. Sstatistically his steal rate is down over 20% as well as his assist rate and while some may think that is within the normal range, I think that you will see Wade trend downward. And how does that make no sense? Wade is taking injuries at an alarming rate, I was saying this before tonights game where he once again could not play a full game. Durability, wear and tear it all adds up. I personally feel that Wade is a half a step if not more slower. Now is it temporary, potentially, Im not sure. If Wade continues to play when hes not 100% he is not nearly the exceptional athlete he once was. Im not sure how that does not make sense.
  12. I used to love Wade back when he was at Marquette and will never forget the day that he was drafted by Miami and the Bulls took Hinrich. Now you could say I hate Hinrich, that would be fair, but I loved Wade. He isnt what he used to be, and without his exception athleticism he is not a top 5 player. I hate to say it, but the injuries appear to be piling up. You can say Lebron cant be a SG, but that just isnt true, his skill set fits perfectly as a SG. Just because on most teams he plays SF due to that being the best match up, does not mean that his ultimate best position could not be SG. Against a team that has a bigger combination of SG/SF there would definitely be advantages in having Lebron be the SG. I guess I dont really compartmentalize players that are 2/3s unless they have some sort of size issue. If they are in the 6'6-6'8 range they really can play any position, especially if they are as good as Lebron. Sorry if that doesnt fit your criteria for how I rate my top 5 basketball players, but so be it.
  13. I never said anything about Wade being an All-Star. I said I dont care about All-Stars. Then I said that I dont think that Wade or Bosh are top 5 players. And its my team and on my team Lebron would be the SG. If he can play PG, he can play SG.

Hopefully Obama can hook us up! I hear some people arent into earmarks anymore, so Ill be the first to say, Ill shamelessly take any money that you want to give.
  15. Saturday game for OSU v Wisconsin. And I always feel the problem with Depaul is that they dont play in the city. Out of sight out of mind.
  16. Wait what, who is only talking about the Eastern Conference? The statement was clearly in reference to the NBA.
  17. Rock, haha yah Im thinking there is a good chance OSU may come into the Kohl Center undefeated. Should be interesting because I doubt the refs would give Wisconsin to much home cooking. Theyll obviously really slow down the game and it will all depend on how Wisconsin can shoot the three. Should be fun and hopefully all these other teams stealing Wisconsin's style havent prepared OSU.
  18. Rock, Wisconsin is going to play a slow tempo against OSU. Im sure as you know this entirely because of OSU and has nothing to do with Wisconsin's normally fast break up tempo oriented style of play.
  19. I dunno some guy named Lebron James with Durant as my SF?
  20. Who cares about the All-Star game? Bosh isnt an all-star, I dont care what he may do for another team, its about what he has done this year. Unless the All-Star game is now a lifetime achievement award. And the only top 5 player on the Heat is Lebron. Im not sure who would pick Bosh or Wade as their first choice at either PF or SG.
  21. Okay I guess that is some what confusing so Ill clarify what that thought means. The US does try and not interfere. We dont take over countries. Look at countries like Japan/Germany. The US could have easily worked out a deal with USSR/Great Britain that we were going to be directly in control of those countries. Instead we tried to allow those countries to remain sovereign nations. Now the second part about when it comes to our best interest means, that while we may try not to interfere, we will interfere if we believe it is in our own self interest. I guess the point Im making is the US is in a gray area between actually taking over and running the country and being completely hands off. By being in that area the US is unable to get the exact results it wants, while at the same time being dragged into situations that it may not really want to be in. Thus we make it harder on ourselves by trying to let countries do what they want, but at the same time trying to make them do what we want.
  22. Disagree. If you take all of the countries resources for your own, the expenses usually even out. If you look at the Dutch when they were in control of the Dutch East Indian Company etc., the British or Spanish, they basically built their empires on taking resources from colonies (mercantilism). Right now we are paying the cost of keeping armies stationed in countries, yet we are not raping the country of its resources/money. That is why its so costly to play world police. Who has said otherwise?
  23. Which is technically not imperialism. The point I am making is that you can control large amounts of territory if you want to be truly imperialistic (think sun never sets on the British empire.) But if you play the role the US has, with backroom manipulation etc, it often becomes difficult to truly control those areas. As you are using indirect control the control is significantly weaker. Putting in a puppet governor/dictator can some times work, it can some times turn out bad (see Saddam etc). Im comparing that to the US just taking over countries, which we could do if we really wanted. Not that I support it, I am just trying to show that the US does try and not interfere, but obviously we are going to when it comes to our own best interest. Which is what puts us in the same precarious position over and over again. We dont want to take over, but we want our way. You cant have both, maybe thats clearer.
  24. I honestly believe that if you combined the entire military power of South America/Central America, it would not even come close to the US military. Ill just use these numbers as Im lazy http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_count...ry_expenditures For perspective, the US spends more in 1 year than China does in 6 years. The US spends more in 1 year than Brazil does in 20 years. This is my last post on the topic, but the US military is unmatched in size and capability. In historical terms you are taking about an army that would make Hitler's blitzkrieg on Europe seem slow and ineffective., It is the single greatest military in the history of the world in terms of size/strength compared to other countries at the time. The numbers are staggering. The only advantage the US does not have is in simple numbers, but since the time of Alexander numbers have not overcome a significantly better trained and equipped opponent.
