Official 2010-2011 NCAA Football Thread

Chicago is the biggest market population wise. And probably has the highest concentration of Big 10 alumni of any of the largest cities in America. -
It is one of those moments when you just are not sure what the best course of action is. The development of the Atomic Bomb was not for the Japanese Front, it was to combat Hitler and to hopefully get one before he did. The use of the atomic bomb against Japan is debatable. In my opinion there is no right answer. No matter what thousands of people were going to die, whether it was American troops, Japanese troops or Japanese civilians. That being said, Im not sure that even the US understood what the ramifications of the bomb would be.

We found that out the hard way.

What if she was here first? Has there ever been a Soxtalk romance?

Ive been told part of the reason that Indy has been getting Championships over Chicago is that the City of Indianapolis helps the Big 10 coordinate and has a dedicated office to help. Conversely Chicago makes the Big 10 do everything and isnt very helpful. But Chicago is where the Big 10 would prefer to hold games (although United Center isnt nearly as good of a venue as Soldier Field) and I would not be surprised to see Soldier Field in a 3 year rotation for the game. Chicago is the biggest Big 10 market and its the market you need to lock down. -
You know Ill be buying the next one. And for all the bugs the online game had, it was still a good time. Im pretty sure I want to get another league started if there is some interest.

Who's the odd man out of the rotation next year?

Its hard to tell at this point. My guess is that if Jackson is willing to sign an extension similar to the one Floyd got, that he may be back for a few years. If he wont my guess is that they flip Jackson and keep Garcia. -
Nice work Edwin! Hopefully he can continue to progress and get even better.

Im not really in agreement with the idea that the Pirates or every team would claim Young. There may be a few teams who would take a $20mil risk, but I think the a fair number would pass at this point. Not to mention the entire idea seems perplexing because if Young was available, they would have dealt him at the trade deadline. No way is AZ just going to let him go for free. So youd have to be willing to pay the salary + give up prospects.

Steph isnt even one of my top 5 favorite girls of all time. Parvarti and Amanda are far better, and thats not even getting into random ones who were only on for 1 season.

Since when is Stephanie the "most popular Survivor contestant ever". Talk about hyperbole.

Not really any legal issues that arise if the story is "truth" as that puts it out of the realm of libel/slander. The only thing I can think of would be breach of contract, but there was no consideration for deadspin to hold back the story so they wouldnt really be bound to anything. I guess an argument could be made that in consideration for being told the story deadspin agreed not to release it. But if she then gave them permission that destroys the argument. It seems like she should have been smarter from the beginning about this. No reason to tell people the story if you dont want it public.

Its good at a college football stadium or other event where they do multiple waves (split, reverse, fast, slow) and the entire crowd gets into it. Its bad when its just the wave going around and around forever.
