No Bobby blew it (Hudson ab) by not throwing a damn strike. 3 run lead, you have to throw strikes. -

That was actually a good pitch by Blackburn, CQ was just better. -

Horrible scouting on Young. He almost always swings first pitch, you cant throw a good pitch. -
In the allegory he was the ring.
-
I think I used the wrong spelling, I was going for "Smeagol" as in Gollum to go with the reference of Lord of the Rings. As in once Smeagol got the ring, he became evil and eventually lost the ring.
-
My guess is that he is boycotting the NBA. I refuse to say the name of any players on the team that shall not be named. I just cant admit that this is actually happening and one of my favorite players I have to like less than Kobe (the player I previously disliked). I guess there is still Carmelo and Howard, but none of them will replace the precious. Although I guess maybe that team is Smeagol and eventually the Bulls will get it for the good of everyone.
-
Id offer Bulls next year first and maybe even a second for henry. The Bulls would still have Charlotte pick potentially next year. Henry would be a great fit as he can shoot the ball and potentially in the future can become a better driver/scorer.

Kap, Great point, which is why I dont believe the govt has the right to to tell us what to consume or not. So If I want to take 7 hits of acid and wash it down with an eighth of mushrooms, while smoking a joint, I should be able to. The govt used to not be able to legislate what people consumed. But then all of these people started dieing, getting sick and losing their jobs due to drug abuse, add that to religious zealots and you have our current drug policy. So as a liberal Im down with getting rid of govt intrusion into my life. Just gotta make sure that we dont half-ass it.

Going over the luxury tax wasnt just for Redick, its for the entire team. If you are Orlando and you believe that Redick makes your team better, you cant worry about the luxury tax, especially with another team in your state being competitive.

Well guess I didnt realize double switch with DH was illegal, learn something. Then yeah the best option would have been to pinch hit Dayan or anyone at that point.
-
Okay guess im not aware of that rule, or what it would be.
-
You cant do a double switch where CQ moves to DH and Jones is put in rf?
-
Well id have ph with Jones here and then moved CQ to DH after this inning.
-
Hopefully the answer isnt tonight.

Nice work Juan lol Thats just like a long sac fly.

I disagree. Mauer only got Pierre by half a step and has one of the most accurate arms for a catcher plus has great agility. Most catchers dont make that play. Hes Juan Pierre, you dont give up outs with real hitters, but its Juan Pierre. This is what he is on the team to do. I just have no faith that he wouldnt have popped up to 2nd, so Id rather he did something productive. If Juan starts to prove me wrong and gets his ba over .300 then Id say dont take the bat out of his hands, but Im not holding my breath.
-
You dont know waht the call was on the first pitch. It may have been Pierre's choice. He got a great bunt down, and it took a great play by Mauer to get him. Youre acting like Pierre is Frank Thomas in his prime and how can you take the bat away. Hes fricking Juan Pierre. BALK
-
Because if the pitcher throws a ball on a hit and run Beckham is hung out to dry? This pitcher has little control, Pierre at least can take a walk (if hes bunting). With hit and run you need a pitcher who is close to the strike zone.
-
Well that pitch was a strike.
-
Guess ive watched to many games where the Sox swing away into double play after double play that I prefer actually taking it to the defense and making it work. Its different styles. The White Sox are a pitching team, you scratch out runs. That means putting the ball in play and making things happen. Im just not that confident in Pierre as a hitter, so I have no problem with forcing the defense into a hard play. Thats all I ever expect out of Pierre anyway. Dont really think that hes going to be successful.
-
Successful outcome for me includes moving the runner from 1st to 2nd. What is Pierre's success rate of bunts for hit + bunts that are successful for sacrifice? That is the relevant stat, and my guess is that rate is higher than his 275 batting average. And getting a man to 2nd means that you have 2 shots to for a single to potentially score the tie run. You can disagree but its not nearly as bad as people are making it out to be. If Pierre hits a double play people would be b****ing the other way.
-
Well first of all youre assuming that Ozzie called for the bunt and it wasnt Pierre's own doing. If Pierre was a better hitter, Id agree completely. But most of his game is speed and hitting the ball to the left side. When you have a runner on, those plays arent nearly as hard. Taking into account Pierre's skill set, I think that butning for a hit is just as likely to have a successful outcome as swinging.
-
okay so 15% chance he gets a hit, 50% chance he moves over the runner, 35% failure rate. Pierre is hitting under 300, so your probably talking about 50% success rate with swing and chance for double play. /shrugs He is a speed player, make the defense work, I never have a problem with that.
-
Bunting with Pierre is always okay. You expect he moves the runner over, but he also has a chance to get a hit. Mauer made a great play, could have easily been a hit.
