  1. They brought in the players that Ozzie wanted. They constructed the team how Ozzie wanted. They built the car exactly how he wanted it to be, and now he cant drive with it? That is a problem. Im not saying that firing anyone is the best strategy, I dont think I would fire Ozzie or Walker at this point (I think its still to early). That being said, if you are saying that change is necessary, then we have to change the manager. It is the only thing that will make a difference. I like Ozzie, and Im far more loyal than most fans. He just tests my patience.
  2. I would hope that as GM Kenny has a list of potential head coaching replacements. Even if he has no intention of firing Ozzie, he still could quit, etc. You have to have a plan b. If change is really what the team needs, then make changes. Dont do a half ass job of getting rid of people that wont make a difference, so that next year we are in the same position.
  3. That may or may not be true. What I can say with absolute certainty is that I do not have a lot of confidence in Ozzie making the right decision if the game is on the line. That is a problem that will eventually have to be dealt with.
  4. I dont know the numbers. Id just rather not give up on a young good goalie. If that means other pieces have to go, so be it (imo). But as long as the Hawks can keep their core group together and have a solid goalie, they have a chance to compete.
  5. Ozzie is a pretty bad in game manager, pretty bad at match ups. His only good trait was that he seemingly worked well with the team and got them to play at a higher level than maybe they should have. The last few years he has not brought much to the table. I like Ozzie and hell always have 2005, but if you want change, it starts at the top.
  6. Obviously Rock is saying that he believes Niemi is a 1 hit wonder. I disagree, I think the guy may be legit and if he can take the Hawks to the finals itd be hard to give up on him.
  7. If your going "Any change is good", Id rather see Ozzie fired. I think he has a much larger impact on how the club plays, their attitude, etc. If your saying "Any change is good, but lets limit to a purely superficial change" then you fire the hitting coach, pitching coach, strength instructor, first base coach, third base coach, or any other scapegoat you can point the finger at. Ozzie is the manager, its his call on who the coaches are. If he thinks Walker is doing a bad job and wants him gone, that is an entirely different story. But from what I can recall, Ozzie has defended Walker. So what will a new coach, who is brought in under Ozzie really change? Not much. Ozzie is the manager, and there isnt going to be some new hitting coach that will stand up to Ozzie. I guess Im not one to blame the messenger. Its Ozzie's team, if its going down hes the one who should go down with it.
  8. Yeah fire Walker because he did so poorly with Alex Rios this offseason. The only legitimate argument for firing coaches is that they Sox need a few scapegoats to take the blame.
  9. Interesting, I didnt know that. I think that Sandra going after Russel is why she won. Sure she failed, but the only reason she did was that the people on the jury were to stupid to listen. Voting for her was their final chance at redemption against Russel. Russel should have never brought Sandra to the final 3, it would have been interesting if it was Jerri, Parvarti and Russel, but I still think that group leads to a Russel loss.
  10. Id say Cleveland is the favorite, but I would bet the field. If I had to guess, I would say it goes: 1. Chicago 2. Miami 3. New Jersey 4. New York I give NJ the slight edge due to the fact that Jay-Z is a part of the team, a rich new owner and the possibility of moving to Brooklyn. If Lebron cares about his state and his home town, he wont leave Cleveland. If he cares about winning and being perceived as the greatest NBA player of all time, then hes gotta leave to get some rings.
  11. The best player at winning the game was Sandra. The best players at controlling the game were Parvarti and Russel. The problem was that Russel does not understand how to win at survivor, not only that but at the end he gets so arrogant that he may have cost himself 2 titles. In his first season he should have taken some one besides Natalie, but Russel thought the jury would only care about who played "the better game". You would have thought in his second go around, Russel would have realized that some times winning is about not making enemies. Parvarti tried to tell Russel that Sandra was a threat and that they shouldnt take her to the final 3, but Russel wouldnt listen. You had to figure Sandra was going to get a good portion of the Hero vote because she was the only person who tried to take down Russel. I thought Parvarti had a shot, but knew Russel would probably not get a single vote. I actually think Parvarti deserved to win the most out of the 3 of them, just because every week she was one of the top targets. Even Russel considered getting rid of her. The reason why they voted for Sandra was because she was the only player who tried to stand up to Russel. In the end the heroes realized that had they listened to Sandra they would have had a chance to win. She was the only person from the Boston Rob alliance to last, and through out the game she made only 1 real enemy, Russel. Its the same reason that Colby couldnt have been in the last group. If you are a villain and you want to win, you better make sure the 2 other people up there are villains or people no one likes. Jerri, Parvarti and Russel was Russel's best chance. He only can blame himself.
  12. Adu has never really gotten a chance. When Ive seen him play he is usually pretty good with the ball. He just needs to get a chance to play consistently.
  13. Boo on Flashforward being canceled as well. Fringe has been solid and the plot twists this year have started to give the storyline a lot more meaning. As for Survivor, Russel is good at getting close to the end, but he is horrible at finishing. There is basically no group of 3 people that Russel could take that he would win with. His best chance was with Parvarti and Danielle. The reason being, Parvarti has already won and Danielle is meh, meaning that Russel would have had a legitimate shot. As it stands now, he basically screwed over half the people if not all the people on the jury. His best chance would be Jerry and Sandra, just because they dont make many friends. But I have a feeling he will end up with Parvarti, and at the end of the day most people gunned for her and she really didnt betray any of her alliance. She has a legitimate shot at being a 2x winner.
  14. Broussard just said if a gun was to his head hed say Lebron to the Bulls. Now we know it wont happen
  15. If you dont think that the refs changed the entire game when Lebron got hot from behind the 3 point arc, I dont know what to say. Im a Bulls fan so I couldnt care less between the Cavs and Celtics, and even prefer the Cavs to lose if it meant a better chance at Lebron. That being said, the reffing was horrific at the most important part of the game. If you enjoy watching that, so be it. I dont care if the Celtics were the better team and it wouldnt have mattered. It ruins the experience when the refs dictate who wins. So its not about who was the better team. It was about why the Cavs may give up in a game like that. /shrugs
  16. You give up when refs just blatantly give the game away in a crucial stretch. It just is frustrating as a fan to watch a game like that.
  17. Well now I remember why I dont really enjoy the NBA. The calls for Boston are so blatant its hard to even watch.
  18. Baseball Stars is by far the best NES baseball game. As for Quentin, maybe he should work with Walker like Rios did this off-season.
  19. Most ridiculous comment of this thread is preferring RBI baseball to Baseball Stars.
  20. Well I definitely wouldnt fire the hitting coach when the player he worked with (Rios) is hitting over 300 and has looked dynamite. Maybe the problem is the other hitters arent working with Walker?

    Could definitely be Romans.

    LOST!!!!

I dont believe they are Egyptian, I believe that they are Greek (see my previous post). This would make the most sense as the Greek's were one of the first sea-faring people and the name Jacob (which came from his mother). Also the fact that none of the people have Egyptian features, would be a hint. As for the wheel, its clear that MIB was told. My guess is that his real mother told him. My next guess is that MIB in the future has people rebuild the wheel, but because of his transformation can no longer leave that way (if he could ever have left, its unclear whether or not his fake mother was just playing him). It also should be clear that not everything will be answered, for the simple fact that Jacob appears to not know them, so who else would?

    LOST!!!!

I was fine with the episode as I believe it provided the background for what will be the final conflict. Some interesting thoughts (and one not so interesting that I had) 1) It seemed to me that the "mother" was trying to have MIB kill her. That is why she says "Thank You" at the end. Perhaps she could only be killed by Jacob or MIB, and the reason why she loved MIB more was that she knew one day he would be the one to free her from the island. 2) I believe the knife used to kill the mother is the same knife that Jacob and MIB have been trying to use to kill eachother. 3) The name "Jacob" would imply that the people were of Greek origin. Jacob is a hebrew name and therefore would not have been one taken by Egyptians. The language that they were speaking seemed Greek and there is a variation of Jacob in Greek. 4) From this episode it now seems unclear how much Jacob truly knows. His mother never fully explained his purpose, and what he has stated previously (that they need to stop MIB from leaving the island) is not exactly what his mother stated (they need to protect the light from others.) While it seems that the outcome would be similar (darkness for all), it may or may not be true that MIB actually has to stay on the island. Furthermore, the transformation of to MIB, is entirely unexplained and may never be understood by Jacob. 5) MIB is called "special" and can see dead people. Walt is called special. Is there some sort of connection that will unfold? 6) What is Jacob's real mothers role in this? It was implied that she was the one telling MIB how to find a way off the island. It also was implied that the fake mother knew that this would work. It would seem that eventually the wheel does get created, but for whatever reason can no longer get MIB off the island. I think the episode has some foreshadowing as well, its just hard to know without seeing the end.
