  1. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Mar 3, 2010 -> 01:54 PM) I'm a Levi's guy too, but I do rock out Inner City Energy (or generic jeans) as well. And I love soxbadger. That is all. Our man love doesnt make us metrosexual!
  2. Well the jean brand in and of itself isnt going to scream metrosexual. It would depend more on the cut and style of the pant. My comment was more a generalization of the stores, and well a cheap shot at my friend who has started to wear a scarf because quite frankly it just looks ridiculous. Its my opinion, and this thread is about opinions. Eh it depends. I have a few formal shirts from express, Id consider them all more metrosexual than my formal shirts from say Brooks Brothers, Polo, or other shirts like that. 2 of them I would consider flat out metrosexual. I do have 1 that looks to be a perfectly plain shirt, but when I bought it they only had a few of that style, and the great majority of shirts were more like the 2 that were entirely metro. Now if your asking why I bought them, its because I was shopping with my ex and she liked them.
  3. Uneducated and incorrect? I hate to say it, but I decided to put Banana Republic and metrosexual into google, here was the first result: From Urban Dictionary: I then did a search of Express and metrosexual, here is the third result: Which then went on to review Express shirts. Now my friends who wear Express/Banana would admit that they are metrosexuals. They dress more fashionable than me and wear more expensive clothes. Its not a negative remark, its just a fact.

    LOST!!!!

Yeah I should have been more clear, I meant Claire prior to coming to the island, had never committed murder. Her actions are part of the "sickness" which Dogen referred to. I believe that we saw previous people "sick" when Rousseau's people went into the temple and then they came out all messed up. Perhaps Kate was just going with the flow, its hard to tell from a 5 second clip. And that would support the idea that the Last Supper picture had some insight, because Kate could become the Judas to Locke.

    LOST!!!!

I should have been more specific and said prior to coming to the island. Claire seems to be a pawn like Ben.

    LOST!!!!

Smokey is bad, Jacob is good. Jacob has given all the characters the same type of choice that god gave Abraham, in order to get what they want, they must sacrifice. Jacob has never directly killed anyone (so far), everyone on Smokey's team (sans Claire) has blood on their hands. We know that Kate was not a candidate, neither was Claire. Sayid had a choice, Jacob had Hurley try and save him, which clearly shows that Jacob did not want Sayid to d e. But Sayid can not escape who he is, either in this life or another. He became twisted when he was with the Iraqi army, and no matter what life he leads, he can not escape that past. That I believe is the point of the alternate time line. To show that some of the characters were mere victims of circumstance, pawns in a larger game. Where as other characters have made choices that made them who they were. The other's appearance in the alternate reality is the best example. In the first reality, Ben is a murderer, in the alternate reality he is just a high strung teacher. He was a victim of circumstance on the island, the same as Ethan who appears to be a good Dr. in alternate reality, but on the island was a kidnapper and could have possibly been a murderer. The final scene of the episode, where Kate, Sayid and Claire walk through the bodies was very telling (imo). None of them reacted as if there had just been a major loss of life. Kate not only didnt seem affected, she just took a weapon and kept on going. I also took a look at the Last Super picture, and im not sure that it has any relevance outside of the fact that Locke is supposed to be seen as the most important character. If it was to be interpreted literally I believe that Kate would be Judas, and Lapetitas would be Simon. That just doesnt seem to jive with their characters.
  7. I prefer gap to Banana or Express because im not that metrosexual. Some of my friends definitely shop there, but they also wear classy scarves. Just saying.
  8. Well Ive never really forgiven Olsen for the 3 fumble day 2 seasons ago, and he has never become the dominant TE that people imagined he could be. Im a fan of Kellen Davis and some of the other Bears TE's, so if they could cash in on Olsen and improve the rest of the team, I wouldnt necessarily be against it. Not to mention our offensive line may not give as many sacks up if they have a te who can block. Some change needs to happen.
  9. Im on the fence at this point. Depending on how the online league is set up, will determine if i buy the game.
  10. I cant decide on the show. I get bored of playing the computer pretty quick, but not sure I can play a 162 game season online either. What is the plan for the online league?
  11. QUOTE (b-Rye @ Mar 1, 2010 -> 03:21 PM) Cowley>Soxnet.... Cowley has way more sources and is in the locker room, at games, etc. This feud is stupid. Youre entitled to your opinion. I dont agree that more access means you have more knowledge. I could sleep in the library of congress, doesnt mean that I have a clue about any of the books in it. In my opinion, Cowley has shown a complete lack of respect towards baseball and absolute disregard for the truth when it comes to reporting. If that makes him a meaningful source to you, so be it. But to me his opinion is worth less than a caller on a post game show. I cant imagine anyone that takes baseball seriously would be suspended from voting on the hall of fame for being an embarrassment. And Im not sure that you can classify this as a feud.
  12. QUOTE (Kenny Hates Prospects @ Mar 1, 2010 -> 01:18 PM) Dude, remember when Jerry Reinsdorf and I believe Andy MacFail co-wrote that letter asking for the hiney bird to be put to pasture? Remember how that didn't work? If JR can't do it, we can't either. This is what sportswriters are these days and there aren't enough hardcore Sox fans around to do anything about it. I guess that's the difference between me and you. Maybe I wont make a difference, but that doesnt mean I wont try. As you said before, you're starting to like Cowley. I cant argue taste, and if you like Cowley style journalism, thats your prerogative. Personally I find him to be an unintelligent bully, but different strokes for different folks.
  13. I dont understand why people give Cowley the time of day. His claim to fame is insulting Toronto and not standing up for the Canadian national anthem. Or maybe his claim to fame is that he was suspended from voting on the hall of fame, because he was an embarrassment. As long as he is affiliated with Sun-Times, I wont read their publication. If enough people stop reading the Sun-Times, we wont have to hear from Cowley again.
  14. You dont think that the view of Chicago and the Lakefront sells the Bears brand better than a field in the middle of no where? And since the Bears sell out every game and have a huge waiting list for season tickets, it seems that most people are fine with the elements.
  15. I love snow games, if even the worst game is being played in snow, I try and catch it. I think elements are part of the game of football. I like wind, I like snow, I like rain. Perfect conditions are nice, but Id rather have the fog bowl or the Pats v. Raiders. Those games have extra spice.
  16. You get tired of the "argument"? Its my opinion, it would be like saying that I get tired of people saying that Pepsi is better than Coke. We are all entitled to our opinion, my opinion is that football is at its best outdoors. Its better to watch, its better to play, it what I enjoy. Im not even sure the relevance of this statement. How does a dome improve winning? Im pretty sure prior to the Rams winning the Super Bowl, that no dome team had ever won one. If anything I think a dome hurts a teams chances at winning, if the Bears played the Saints in a dome instead of outdoors in the NFC Championship game, who knows if the Bears win. It was a definitive advantage to be playing a team from a dome outdoors. Wrigleyville is not overblown. Go down there on a weekday when the Cubs are playing, the bars are filled with people, let alone the 35k in the stands. Go to Wrigleyville on a weekday when the Cubs arent playing, its a ghost town. Wrigleyville is a huge draw, if you are a Cubs fan its an amazing atmosphere. Playing next to Lake Michigan and in the City gives the team more prestige. Prestige is an opinion and in my opinion its less prestigious to have your stadium no where near the metropolitan center. The Bears may not have a long history at Soldier Field, but Soldier Field has a long prestigious history, just like Chicago. Once again, my opinion.
  17. I like the new stadium. I dont even mind the design. I would hate it if the Bears went to a domed stadium. I would actually hope that they change the name to something lame and girlish, because football is supposed to be played outdoors in the open air. In the last 3 seasons I have been to 2 of the coldest games at Soldier Field, it was an amazing time and it gives the Bears home field advantage. Going to a dome would destroy their identity. As for moving to the suburbs, If the Cubs move, it will be the beginning of the end for that franchise. Wrigley Field, Wrigleyville and the whole atmosphere draw in a lot of the crowd to that park. They will have to decide whether they will rebuild Wrigley or renovate, but I cant imagine giving up a stadium that is more popular than the team itself. The Bears arent going anywhere, they could get away with moving, but it would hurt their prestige on a national level.
  18. Ill disagree, the best player or team doesnt always win. May have been the best on a single day, but that doesnt make you the overall best. I guess you can disagree, but if China won the gold medal, I wouldnt consider them the best team. Canada had the best team coming into the Olympics, gold medal is an expectation.
  19. And how many of those had NHL professionals? I believe 1998, was the first that allowed NHL professionals. That means that there have been Olympics in 1998, 2002 and 2006 that actually had the BEST Canadian players. I doubt that there is a Miracle On Ice in 1980 if the Canadian team was allowed to field a team with Wayne Gretzky. Even if we completely disregard the fact that Canada played without its best players for the majority of the Soviet run (9 straight medals, 7 of them gold), they still have won 1 of the last 3 gold medals and have the best players in the world. It would be like arguing that the US doesnt have the best basketball team, because they didnt win every medal. The Canadian team is the best team, thats not a sense of entitlement that is a fact. Anything less than gold is going to be a disappointment for them, so what commercial should they have made? Buy Coke and go for the Bronze! Im sure Coke has a few different variations of the same commercial for different sports in different countries. People like winners, Coke is associating itself with winning. Even stranger about your comments, Coke is an American brand. It's just about money. I thought it was a good commercial, especially since it probably is being played in Canada exclusively, and Hockey is their #1 sport.
  20. I hope I never see Shuster again. Everyone has a bad week, but against GBR you could tell that he had just quit. His attitude was s***ty and he kept b****ing about other people's bad shots.
  21. Im so sick of the US curling team. Hopefully in 4 years there is some improvement.
  22. Frank was my favorite player, probably always will be. Good luck on making the hall!
  23. Wisconsin's tournament will depend on whether or not Leur can return.
