  1. I dont think breaking the law has anything to do with baseball, the HOF, or whether a player is HOF worthy. How is a spitball not premeditated? How does a spitball not put their "entire game at an improperly different level of competition"? If anything a spitball is worse. You can scientifically see the difference between a doctored ball and a nondoctored ball. Conversely there is no absolute correlation between steroids and being a better player. There could have been hundreds of players taking steroids who sucked for all we know.
  2. However, two wrongs don't make a right. Exactly. It was wrong that MLB implicitly supported steroids. It was wrong that MLB is not taking responsibility and instead blaming a few players making them scapegoats. 2 wrongs dont make a right, so we should absolve those players who only committed a wrong for "best of baseball". In my opinion that is the only just solution. That or removing all cheaters from the Hall. Since the latter will never happen, the former is the only fair and just answer.
  3. How did cheaters of today make the HOF irrelevant when it has been accepting cheaters for years? Who cheated first: Gaylord Perry Big Mac Barry Bonds Which of them is in the HOF? The saddest chapter in baseball is the current chapter where people have evolved this "holier than thou" attitude, and forget that the Hall is filed with cheaters from all eras, and that baseball needed a few scapegoats to cover up the fact that everyone was cheating. Either ban all cheaters, or ban no cheaters.
  4. I also would think its only fair to remove all pitchers who admittedly used illegal pitches, any player who corked their bat or was caught cheating, etc. If you want to remove cheaters, remove cheaters. If you want to create scapegoats, well the HOF is doing a great job.
  5. Bigsqwert, If my "child" was over the age of 18, was supervised by medical professionals who advised him that taking substance X, will make him wealthy beyond his wildest imagination and that there would be minimal to no negative side effects, I would tell them to make their own choice. The problem here is that this isnt about "health". This is about a witch hunt to "clean" baseball. And the only way to effectively do it, is to scapegoat all of the people who are currently out of baseball. I mean will A-Rod not be in the HOF, what about all the current players who have received no punishment or slaps on the wrist? What about all the names on the "list" are they all off the HOF. Its called being consistent, and its inconsistent to punish players who are not making MLB teams money, while letting those who currently are baseball cash cows continue to play with no ramification. Everyone in MLB was happy when Big Mac "saved baseball" and made them rich. Now that hes done his part, they can destroy him and not care. But yeah, lets just ban Bonds and McGwire because it makes us feel good at night.
  6. At this point I just hope that Wisconsin has done enough to secure a NCAA bid going .500 in Big 10 play and that Leur is only gone for 2 months. The only bright side is that Leur broke the wrist early in the Purdue game, and they still were able to win even though he shot terribly.
  7. If he has good enough numbers, he should be in the hall, cheater or not. Until recently, baseball did not care about cheating. You have admitted cheaters in the HOF, what does it really matter. If Bonds doesnt make the hall, the HOF in my mind becomes irrelevant.
  8. Bah looks like Leur broke his wrist against Purdue. Should be interesting how Wisconsin responds.
  9. Unlike other announcers, at least Aikman calls it like it is. How the refs can so blatantly make bad calls is just infuriating.
  10. My guess is that Carroll may be thinking that with Bush and now Mcknight that sanctions and a real investigation arent far behind. Best time to get out is before an investigation.
  11. Well Im glad Wisconsin was able to beat Miami. It was definitely not what I expected as it seemed not only was Wisconsin more physical but more athletic as well. Hopefully Clay doesnt go to the NFL, because I think Wisconsin has a chance to be ranked next year. Supposedly the weather played a factor and Miami was not used to the frigid 44 degree weather. If it wasnt for a few self inflicted wounds, Wisconsin could have really blown that game wide open. Over 400 yards of offense, and Clay was just unstoppable as usual. Although according to Miami fans he wouldnt even start on their team (that statement after last nights game is strange, but some Miami fans swear Cooper is significantly better). No matter what Ill have some fun with my cousins who went to Miami, they all believed that Wisconsin had no chance and that if Miami could stop GT's running game, then theyd dominate Wisconsin. I tried to explain the triple option is different, but they emphatically informed me that the U was more talented, the ACC was significantly better and who did Wisconsin beat. I guess the answer to the question is, Miami. Hopefully the rest of the Big 10 can show up and make people rethink their SEC love.
  12. Im not even sure what that statement means. But regardless I deny the allegation.
  13. Eh, hard to say he has no buzz when he hasnt gone to the combine yet. Kiper does this every year, he makes statements about players before the season, before the combine, only to then completely change his stance before the draft. I trust my own evaluation over Kiper. I think that Benn is arguably the best WR in the draft and that after the combine you will hear people raving about him. Before the season Kiper had Benn at 10 on his big board: http://espn.go.com/blog/bigten/post/_/id/2...per-s-big-board I just cant stand Kiper's inconsistency.
  14. If they arent going to bid for him, why waste the time scouting? He played in the WBC, people have seen him and know what he is about. The Sox have a lot of money invested in pitching, throwing money at Chapman wouldnt be a good use of resources. Especially if there is a bidding war with NYY and Boston.
  15. I dont think you understand the risk of having dangerous terrorists in a prison nearby. What if they all escape, then what will we do? Wont some one please think of the children! That is sarcasm, now if the prison was made to hold Magneto or Sylar, then I might have some concerns about proximity. I dont think any terrorists have that sort of power, and if they do they must be really dumb to have been caught in the first place.
  16. I dont have espn insider, is that McShay's draft? This is just an unusually weak year for WR. I just have a feeling that when teams get to see him in person they are going to realize that he has the potential to be a bigger version of Boldin. (imo)
  17. The mock site that I like is done by Scott Wright (he used to post on a board called nfl-fans that id sometimes frequent), he currently has Benn at 16 as of November 9th. http://www.draftcountdown.com/sub/Mock-Draft-B.php Most of the other mock drafts I trust arent out yet, but Benn will most likely appear in the 15-20 range. After the combine you may see him projected as the top WR. It is a really weak year for WR, and it wouldnt surprise me if Benn surpasses Dez White as the #1 projected wr (especially because Benn should have better measurables). Im not sure what sites you are looking at that dont have Benn being drafted at all, they may be ones that dont have underclassmen in the mocks (some sites dont put the underclassmen in until they are 100% gone).
  18. Benn is already being projected as a mid first round pick. Nothing to worry about besides for a career threatening injury. I think the more appropriate statement is that Benn has very little to gain by staying in the NCAA. Could he work his way to the top 10? Sure, but he will lose an entire year of salary and will also hit FA one year later. If he was projected 2nd round or later, Id agree that staying in school is probably for the best.
  19. Im not a huge hockey enthusiast but its clear when you watch Hossa that he is on a different level in terms of ability. I know Toews and Kane are good, but Hossa is probably the best right now.
  20. Frank Thomas going from 1b to DH. Thats where weve all seen it. Although it could be due to injury, age, but there are some pretty big name players who just didnt do as well when they only were dh.
  21. I went to the one in Chicago. I didnt know there was one in Atlanta or I would have been more specific.
  22. John Marshall 06- Civil Litigation is my primary focus, Ive done most common things (guardianship, eviction, just no divorces) From the fact that you said you are getting into Illinois or Duke, its clear that you are far more motivated and dedicated than I ever was. If you want to be successful you are going to have to work hard and get your name out there. I just happened to be at the right place at the right time for my job.

I suggest you look at these websites: http://www.cyberdriveillinois.com/departme...vices/home.html LLC- $500 Corp- $150 http://egov.cityofchicago.org/city/webport...elName=Business The Secretary of State website is really good. In the forms section it has a guide to forming LLC/Corp, it gives you start to finish information, including how to get your FEIN and registering with the IBT. Also, I suggest searching the difference between LLC/Corp. Its small, but it still may impact your decision. (And its strange that instead of doing real work, im doing fake work on the internet. haha)

You can be a corporation if you are small. A lot of smaller businesses are starting to go back to the corporation option because S Corp election is pretty easy (S Corp makes it so your corp is taxed the same way as a LLC or sole proprietorship), the main difference between corp and llc is that llc costs more to form (at least in IL) and the LLC has less stringent rules about corporate formalities. At the end of the day, both llc and corp protect you from personal liability.

If you can find a location that previously was a bar, Im pretty sure that the process will be much easier, as the zoning etc will have already previously been approved. Different districts, have different rules. My first suggestion would be to find locations that you are interested in, then see if any of those locations are feasible. At that point youll know what rent or mortgage youll have to pay and can figure out if the business plan will work. I assume that you will be forming either a corp or llc for this business.
