Im about 90% sure that a September call up counts as service time.

I loved that trick. Or the greatness of finding an awesome game that was hidden by some one else. For the old vhs tapes, maybe they sold them to some 3rd world country blockbuster equivalent?

The comments are the best part of the article. "Is Steve black and can he dunk." You should have answered: It says NON ATHLETE, obviously hes white.

Why do people not want to play a bad team like Pitt? If we win the division by 1 game next year will people really be thinking "Damn I wish we didnt win all 3 games against Pitt, Id rather have played STL."

The only question I have is will Obama let his wife fail. If the answer to that question is no, he will be wherever she wants him to be. Because now that her name is on this, its her failure if she doesn't deliver.

Sports teams who have "offensive" nicknames

I dont think it is the courts place. If people are that upset by it, they will stop buying the product or let it be known. -

Since 1999 the Bills havent made the post season. Jauron has kept them competitive each year and I think that the owners know its more the lack of players. Im not sure what year the Bills were significantly better than their record would indicate. -

How can you blame Jauron? He had his team in a position to win at NE and his kick returner screwed him. All he has to do is run out of the endzone and waste 6 seconds so that 2 minute warning is the same as the change of possession and the Bills only need a first down to win. Just a really bad play by the kick returner. -
lol I actually thought your post said:

What is getting you through the off-day?

Unfortunately my answer cant be stated on a public website. -
Agreed, Id rather the Sox started next season with a similar roster and then added something a month in if they felt there were deficiencies.

The only positive is that maybe the Bears will realize that the talent is only as good as the play call. I wish Ron Turner was some where else. -
Has a KW mid-season move backfired more than Rios?
Soxbadger replied to caulfield12's topic in Pale Hose Talk
You dont judge trades based on 2 months. Or I guess you can, but it is really pretty foolish. Peavy was acquired injured, there was no guarantee that hed pitch an inning this year. Anything he provided this year was bonus. Im sorry if you disagree with that, but it would be like saying every prospect trade is a win for the team getting the MLB player because "The prospect didnt play in the majors that year." Not to mention the players given up for Peavy havent exactly done much for the Padres. -

Rios wasnt a trade. If you consider acquiring Peavy an F, well thats just ridiculous. -

Rios most likely would get a very similar contract this off season. He was never a FA, so his contract actually may be below market value. Gary Matthews Jr is being paid about $10mil, because he had one good season. -
Im not so sure that teams are going to be lining up to give a player who is over 30 a starting job just because he had his best offensive season in 6 years. If Pods was even an adequate CF, hed have a job. The problem is that hes below average at every OF position, and most teams just arent going to spend money on a below average fielder whose only value is obp.
-
I think Pods may be healthy next year, just historically hes not a .300 hitter. If he wants to sign a contract thats based on his career performance, Id be more than willing to bring him back as a back up OF/DH who plays 3-4 out of 6 games. I just dont think paying him starting CF money is warranted based on 1 come back season.

Well If you can find an article that states it, Id love to see it. I can remember this board in 2003, and many people wanted Konerko gone. You can also see that the Sox resigned him to a 3 year deal right after 2002, so that suggests that he did not have a foot problem. The article in 2005 does not state in 2003 he suffered at all. Here is an article from 2003, where Konerko speaks about his troubles: http://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/hockey/...0,3916174.story In this article Konerko states its a "mechanical flaw", and never even says a word about a foot problem. Ive tried to find any suggestion that Konerko suffered in 2003 from foot problems, but all I keep finding is that in 2002 he played through a foot injury. http://www.tireball.com/behindthedugout/pr...s/paul-konerko/
-
Not that I can recall. He hurt his foot in 2002, but in 2003 he only missed 3 games due to injury. http://www.sbnation.com/mlb/players/159/Paul_Konerko/career Here is an article from 2005, about the foot injuries; http://www.highbeam.com/doc/1P2-1571297.html I doubt that the foot was still a problem in 2003 (the Sox would have rested him if he was struggling that bad and hurt), he just for whatever reason lost his swing. In 2003 many people on this site wanted Konerko gone.
-
What happened to Paul Konerko in 2003? Some times hitters slump for a year. We wouldnt have gotten Rios for free if he wasnt slumping. Well see what happens next year when he has a fresh start.

Most likely major thoroughfares could be restricted to only public transportation, which would make the games very accessible by bus.

Number 1 comment will be: Brian Anderson would have had it.
-
Balta the main reason for the change in his ops were a few home runs (he had more doubles last year) and he had more walks the year before. The point was in regards to wanting Pods bat over Rios bat.
