  1. IM HAVING VISIONS OF JESUS COMING BACK TO LIFE BUT INSTEAD OF BEING ALL MERCIFUL HE IS RAMBOESQUE AND KILLS THE ROMANS OLD TESTAMENT STYLE. THATS WHAT I THINK WHEN I THINK CQ'S RETURN. (Caps for emphasis)

    Films Thread

I actually liked the new Harry Potter. I also went at 10 PM in Chicago, so the crowd may have been different. I mean it wasnt earth shattering, but I think it set up the final 2 movies. Ive never read the books.
  3. No that the coaching staff has more faith in Wise than anyone else in AAA.
  4. I actually think Steve has the answer he just doesnt want to admit it. CQ's injury is worse than we want to admit and the chances he stays healthy the rest of the year are 50/50. They sent down Anderson because he has an option and therefore if CQ cant go they can just call him back up and no harm is done. If they sent down Wise and lost him, then CQ went on the DL they would have to call up an OF they wont have any faith in. /shrugs I just doubt Ozzie wants his team to have the weaker player so the options are: 1) There is a valid reason to select Wise over BA. 2)Ozzie for whatever reason values Wise over BA. Either way it doesnt really matter. Just like Ozzie, we all have our favorites, and some times our view of a player is jaded by our perspective. Its a 2 way street, there are hundreds of other things that have be done that bother me far more.
  5. For whatever reason there is a variable that makes it so Anderson's better defense is not enough to outweigh being sent down. Whether its he had an option left, he refuses to listen, he has a bad attitude, he cant be trusted, he slept with Ozzie's wife, I dont know. We dont have all the information.
  6. WHAT? http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/players/7489/s...VYLIrgaSXGFCLcF Anderson is batting .200 in July, how can you just flat out lie?
  7. People are acting like I actually have a horse in this race. I just dont think that Anderson has done enough to warrant outcry at his demotion. For all we know its because Anderson refuses to listen to the coaching staff. Its just so predictable that there is going to be uproar about Anderson. From what I can tell Ozzie likes to win, and hes not going to lose just to spite Brian Anderson.
  8. I guess Ive never seen why Anderson has gotten so much love on this board. He had opportunities, Im not about to cry over a player who hit .200 so far in July. Sure he may be a better defender than Wise, but its not such a disservice that it deserves this much attention. Anderson had a chance to earn his role, he didnt. That leaves it up to the manager to decide, and Ozzie made his choice.
  9. They probably just wanted a left handed pinch hitter over a right handed pinch hitter.
  10. Big Lebowski Matrix Anything that was on Towers Vision the years that I lived there (it was a station only for my dorm and you requested movies they rented from blockbuster, first person to call in after the last movie ended got their movie played. Matrix was on 7 hours of the day, other movies repeated as well, especially Legends of the Fall which Ive seen way to many times.)

Yesterday was unusually bad on LSD because there was a car stopped in the middle of the road by the Lincoln Park softball fields. I take LSD every day from lower Wacker to Montrose and most of the time traffic is fine after you get past the light at Northwestern Law/Medical school. Cubs night games it also is a little slower, especially around Belmont exit because its designed horribly.
  12. As most have said the best plan would be to stay at a hotel that is near a red line stop.
  13. Why do people even get bent out of shape with minor league numbers? Hes 20 years old and just defected from his home country. Id say that there has to be some sort of adjustment period to being in this country, let alone playing baseball.
  14. Steve I think you were looking for this:
  15. Right so youd expect the Sox to do worse, not that they would in (I think its been in existence for 6-7 years) have 1/3 of the players selected. Pods and AJ beat out players from much larger markets. Most Sox fans I know just dont care that much about voting for all-stars. You never see threads on this board about "Lets vote in X player". He didnt wear a hat but he wore a nice jacket...
  16. Then how do you explain Pods and AJ being voted in as the last player? Sox fans just dont care enough in April to start voting for a player just because they like them. If CQ had been healthy and on fire, I think he would have had a ton of votes.
  17. High and inside, Barack is going to send a message.
  18. Id venture to say yes. Sox players have done pretty well being elected the last player in via internet vote. When the Sox have a team that doesnt create apathy at the beginning of the season, you will see huge vote numbers.
  19. I personally wouldnt touch that deal at all. I just dont see why the Sox would trade Ramirez for 1.5 years of Rolen/Halladay. Yeah they are both good, but I just dont feel that the Sox should be trading Ramirez for 1.5 years of veteran players. Itd be one thing if Rolen or Halladay were under 30 signed for a few years.
  20. Ive seen every episode of Whale Wars (besides last weeks which is on DVR.) Its a high quality show.
  21. Dont want to post any spoilers yet, but the last fight was interesting.
  22. From what I can tell there isnt going to be much money from settlements, if any. Most of the defendants and the cemetery either have filed bankruptcy or will file it. As for their legal rights, at this time there is an active criminal investigation. Once they found out who actually had their relatives moved or who was double buried, then some people would have standing to sue. (Depends on who paid for the plot if it was a son or daughter they could sue, if it was paid by the deceased the executor of the estate would have to sue for the estate.) Ive never visited my grandparents grave, that does not mean that I wouldnt have the right to be upset if this happened to them. /shrugs
  23. In the last 2 days over 10 people have called my office asking what their legal rights are in regards to this.
  24. Tex. The problem is that there are different perspectives. In situation A, if the husbad earned 0% of the money, he of course doesnt care about leaving, there is no decision to be made. On the other hand in situation A, if the husband made 100% of the money and is now going to have to give up 50% of everything hes earned, he may just stay married, have her live in Miami and him live in NY. He gives her money etc, but he gets to keep the bulk of his estate. In situation B, I personally could walk away easier. The Chris Rock point to be made was if the WIFE is leaving the husband. Not if the husband who made all the money decides to leave the wife. Thats just my experience with divorce cases, that generally if person A is the one who made the disproportionate amount of the money (especially a large amount), they are more hesitant to get a divorce until they are 100% absolutely sure.
