Attacks also have a tendency to bring people together in times of great peril. Nothing gets people more motivated than having an "enemy."

Burris tried to raise money for blago at behest of blago's brother
Soxbadger replied to bmags's topic in The Filibuster
I have yet to see anything about the court documents being released illegally. Rumors of what the court papers contained were leaked, but it wasnt until the actual papers were unsealed that Ryan got destroyed. And the point is that a Judge has discretion in a case. Court documents are usually "public", I can go down and pull almost every single court case that has ever existed in Cook County. It is unusual for court documents to be "sealed" and absent a showing of why the court documents should be "sealed" the judge almost will always make them available to the public. Usually things that are sealed are in regards to minors. So why should Ryan get his court documents sealed, while no one else does? If he didnt want people to find out, he should have settled before it went into court and had Geri sign a non-disclosure agreement. Thats what most people do when they dont want their dirty laundry in the public eye. -
Thanks for the info, he seems like a pretty funny guy.

The Cutler thing seems to have deeper roots than it may appear. Some reports are saying that Cutler has been unhappy that the Broncos got rid of his qb coach and the head coach. With the way everything has blown up, the new Denver coaching staff may need to get rid of Cutler just so that it doesnt have a power struggle on its hands. Josh McDaniels is 32 years old and has worked exclusively with the Patriots (biggest reason imo he wanted Cassel). He basically has no head coaching experience and has no real playing experience. Cutler is 26 (only 6 years younger than McDaniels), if he already has a problem with McDaniels, it could spell disaster for the Broncos. At this point the Broncos may seriously have to consider trading Cutler if there is going to be a problem between him and McDaniels. McDaniels is to inexperienced to try and deal with this type of controversy in his first season, and it probably would be best for all parties if his first QB, is one of his guys. Its clear that he wanted Cassel because he felt comfortable with him. -
These picks are about best case scenario for Sox. Even if they got pick #16, there was no guarantee the Sox would actually take the best player due to signing bonuses. With 2 picks the Sox have a better shot of actually getting some one who will one day be a MLB player.

Maybe Im confused here: http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/c...0,7479994.story So now when a judge orders records to be unsealed its characterized as: "someone managed to get ahold of sealed court documents" This isnt Bonds where the records were illegally obtained, these records were released to the public. I guess as the old saying goes: If you want to be a senator dont take your wife to have sex at a public sex show. Okay thats not a saying, but Ryan's own idiocy sunk him. -
Anyone surprised to see the Trib attendance bashing?

So how many spring training ticket selling championships have the Cubs won? I sure hope one day the Sox can take home that trophy. -

I was talking about the conference refs. Thats why I say: Not sure what the power of the conference has to do with reffing. -

How Big 10 teams do will more depend on the match ups than on how the refs call the game. So the tournament isnt really going to prove anything, unless a bunch of Big 10 teams get in foul trouble. -

Or when they get in a game which is called tighter they score way more points, aka OSU during 2006-7, when they scored 85 and 92 points against Tenn and Memphis respectively. In a Big 10 game that year OSU only scored 49 points in a winning effort against Wisconsin. Its a lot easier to score when you arent playing some of the better defensive teams in the league. It just depends on the individual match ups, if Wisconsin gets a team who likes a high pace but plays out of control, their system gives them a great chance for an upset. Shooters can go hot and cold, but defense is just hustle and discipline. -
I think there is a difference between getting rid of characters and what is happening with Frank. Frank was supposed to pilot flight 815 (it has never been explained why he did not.) Frank was able to fly to the island via helicopter from the freighter. Frank was able to fly to the island on flight 316. It has never been explained why he didnt fly 815, who took his place and why the flight log still listed him as the pilot. It has never been explained how Frank got in contact with Whidmore. And lastly, its never been explained what happened to Frank after he left the island. I just think he has played to big of a role that they are just bringing him back for fun.
-
And what I am saying is that people can momentarily avoid the islands calling, but eventually no matter what you do you will some how find your way there. We have seen that, but I do not believe the story is ever developed as to how Whidmore chose Lapidus to be part of his crew. And in that statement is where we have a fundamental difference. I do not believe in the show Lost, there is any coincidence. Was it just coincidence that Sayid was there? Was it coincidence that Jack and Claire were on the same original flight? My question was also to get people thinking: Why do we just assume Lapidus piloted the plane and didnt disappear. The only facts we have regarding this situation are the witness who said "The girl and the pilot took the boat." Did Lapidus have a co-pilot? Is the girl Sun, or is it some one else off the plane? If the girl is Sun, why did she not disappear like the others? If Lapidus did not disappear, then he is like Ben in that he is the only person returning to the island who did not disappear. The difference would be that Ben left through the wheel, where as Lapidus left in the same fashion as the other Oceanic 6. To me it does not seem logical that only the Oceanic 6 would disappear, when Frank left in the exact same fashion as them. Also we know that Desmond is supposed to return, and he like Frank did not come to the island by flight 815.
-
Your statement is somewhat contradictory. He was supposed to be the pilot on the first flight. He then still some how found a way to the island. He left the island. He was then on the return flight back, with the rest of the people who left the island. To me that suggests Lapidus was supposed to be on the island, some what like that film Final Destination. In that even though Lapidus escaped the islands first attempt (the plane) he still was brought there.

Why would Lapidus not disappear?

Boo if he gets a hit, cheer if he makes an out. Id cheer to start, but he better make an out!

If Illinois is as bad as you claim, then Missouri must be horrific. If Illinois only relies on the 3, then how come they scored 58 points from 2 compared to 21 from 3 in that game? The point is, it doesnt mean much to have teams ranked in the top 15 when all they have done is beat on teams in their own conference. -

The Big 12 has two teams in the top 10 of the Coaches poll. Illinois 75- Missouri 59 The Big 12 has seven wins against non-league top 25 teams. Illinois 75- Missouri 59 The Big 12 has three teams in the top 15 of the CBSSports.com RPI rankings. Illinois 75- Missouri 59 The Big 12 has six teams in the top 40 of the CBSSports.com RPI rankings. Illinois 75- Missouri 59 Lets look at some Big 10 records MSU is 10-2 outside of Big 10. MSU is 11-3 in Big 10. Illinois is 12-1 outside of the Big 10. Illinois 10-5 versus the Big 10. Purdue is 11-2 outside of Big 10. Purdue is 10-4 in Big 10. Penn State lost 1 game outside of the Big 10. Minnesota lost 0 games outside of the Big 10. Wisconsin lost 3 outside of Big 10. OSU lost 1. Michigan lost 1. Even NU only lost 2 games outside of the Big 10. Lets look at some Big 12 out of conference: KU lost to Umass who is 10-15 Missouri lost to Illinois and Xavier. OU lost to Arkansas who is currently 1-11 in the SEC. If you play in a really weak conference, your teams are going to get rated higher than if you play in a conference that is difficult top to bottom. If Illinois, Purdue or MSU were in the Big 12 they would likely have better records. I have no doubt that the Big 12 will get a high ranked seed, I just dont think the Big 12 has done anything in out of conference play to prove that it deserves it. -
Will the AL Central survive the next 10 years?

How would Mexico City being in the Central make sense? Wouldnt Texas be in the Central, with Mexico moving to the West? I really doubt any of this happens. -

Soxbadger replied to caulfield12's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Weve all seen what happens when New Mexico gets a sport franchise. Bold new flavors, a starving man in the outfield, can we really let that happen again? As for the comparison to Seattle (I almost posted this to start), the difference with baseball and basketball is that basketball can be played in arenas that already exist for the most part. The Ford Center was opened in 2002 in OKC. They built it so that they could keep the NCAA tournament and try and attract a NHL or NBA team. Can you name any MLB quality baseball stadiums that have been opened in the last 5 years that are not currently housing a baseball team, in any of the locations suggested? In bad economic times its going to be much harder to get loans and to get tax payer support to build a stadium for a team that isnt even there. How are tax payers going to react if the stadium is basically empty for years (like the Ford Center) and they spent hundreds of millions on it. -

It cant rain all the time. I doubt you will see teams relocating unless an amazing set of circumstance arises. In bad economic times, who is raising taxes to build new stadiums in new cities? Would the Indians really leave the Jake, a relatively brand new stadium for a college facility? Would the Tigers leave their brand new field? This really makes absolutely no sense. -

The thing is many of the mocks ive seen recently put those 4 out of the Bears reach (some are saying all 4 may go top 10.) Which goes back to my original post that when the Bears pick the BPA may not match their need, which imo is tackle.
