Very questionable play call there. Youve got a QB who Texas hasnt been able to touch and on 3rd down you bring in the guy who cant scramble? -
I think the difference between the Burrell or Bradley and Garland, is that Garland is a starting pitcher and if he even has a decent season this year he could make a lot more money next year. Id guess Garland signs a 1 year deal and tries again next year if he cant get anything that great. Even if you only take 5mil this year, as long as you can get 2 for 20 next year you come out ahead of 3 for 24.

Ive been out of town for the last few days so I didnt get to weigh in on the Big 10 etc debate, but here are my thoughts. Id like to see how SEC or Pac 10 teams would do in a November/December game in Camp Randall, Ann Arbor, etc. Speed may be great in a bowl game and in perfect conditions, but there is a reason why many Big 10 players go on to play in the NFL and why many "superiorly talented SEC and Pac 10" players never make it. You have to ask questions about how players like Brooks Bollinger and Jim Sorgi have places in the NFL when they played for a non-passing Wisconsin team. Where as there are plenty of SEC QBs that never make it. At the end of the day the question has to be: Are you playing college football to be a great college player (Danny Wuerffel, Tim Tebow etc) or are you playing to be good in the pros (Tom Brady). Obviously the SEC has produced the Mannings and other great players, you just dont see the "talent gap" really prevalent in the NFL. It seems that the scores of the games are more indicative of the fact that they are being played in conditions that favor speed versus balance. -

Wars that only happen between major US holidays dont exist. Oh and there is no point in Blago resigning unless they are going to offer him a sweetheart deal. At this point theres no saving face, he might as well just go down swinging and see what happens. Blago not being impeached and being found not guilty are still in the realm of possibilities. The real question here is on what grounds can the senate deny a state's selection? There is a caveat that the senate can make the rules of its own members, but at the same time the state has the power to decide how the senate seat is given out. If Illinois did not want a situation like this to happen, it could have written rules to prevent it. As such the rules are clear and we may not like them, but they are the rules. -

Since when am I an Illini fan? When the other team shoots 20+ more fts, youd hope that the ref wouldnt call a touch foul to determine the game. Havent they given Purdue enough breaks... -

So how much are the refs being paid for this game? That was ridiculous. -
Right but PS3 online is free. So if I own my XBOX or PS3 for 4 years, I effectively pay $200 more on the XBOX purchase than on the PS3 purchase if I want to use the internet. The reason I mention it is price is often the determining factor in Xbox vs PS3, and when you add in the extra internet charge the prices are about the same.

Correct me if Im wrong, but the Bears were pretty close to beating Carolina, Tampa Bay and Atlanta. They have 2 bad losses (games outside of 1 TD) Vikings and Packers. The Vikings game they blew they could have taken a big lead but just massively messed it up. Packers flat out decimated them. All in all the Bears may not be great, but most other teams in the NFL arent that great either. If they make the playoffs who knows what happens. -
I have PS3 and Id say Ps3 is the way to go for the future. The main difference for you will be: PS3 online is free, Xbox is $50. PS3 just launched "home" its like eq for your online persona. You can play bowling and other games against people and its a full online environment. There is a movie theater, mall etc. Not sure what they are going to do with it, but it seems pretty interesting. I think currently XBOX is equal or better then PS3, but in the future PS3 will be the better buy.

Well there is also some evidence that perhaps Georgia was not as innocent as they claimed. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/worl...icle5114401.ece There is also something about in November the US coming out and saying that Georgia's response was a mistake. I cant find the actual press release so Im not going to quote it, but it appears that Georgia was not as innocent as once believed. It just shows how easily most American's are willing to accept that Russia are the "bad guys".

Orton doesnt make very good presnap reads. If he could make better reads before the snap he would make a lot better decisions (imo). -
I liked the Floyd trade (you can go back and look at my posts). Scouts raved about Floyd's stuff, he just seemingly had mental issues. I thought that going to the Sox where less would be expected (he was a top 5 Philly choice so they expected the world from him right away) he could perhaps find a grove and get his confidence back. Ive just seen nothing at this point to remind me of the Floyd acquisition other than hes a minor league pitcher. I hope Marquez turns into the an ace, I just dont really know anything about him.

I know many people that spend most of their disposable income on nontaxable illegal drugs. But the govt would rather be morally sound than fiscally sound.

There was talk of a snow day, but it never materialized. I drove to work and it was glorious.

Wow I missed a Steve-Kalapse argument And Im not so sure on Garland just because I think the Sox defense may not be so great and when you only strike out 90 players it means your defense has to make a lot of plays...

How much tax payer money do you think was wasted on that brief? I guess if it improves her chances to become Governor or Senator it was money well spent. (insert rolling eyes) {Edit} Oh yah and how much will the state have to pay Ed Genson when this is all done.... -

Whats the point of having a message board if your not going to theorize on the future. Should every post in Soxtalk be: "Its only December why should we be thinking about April" "Its only December why should we be thinking about October" The reason we post is because we have theories about what the future will bring, some times we are right, some times we are wrong. -

(Im not Pratt so this post is just about my posts in this thread) I dont think that was the premise at all. It was merely stating that in March of 2008 there was very little evidence for why a Democrat would successfully flip a state. At that point there was no Palin, there was no Wall Street meltdown, etc etc. And its funny but I basically predicted the election based on one state: Ohio voted Obama, Obama won. Now if you look at my posts from March to November I think youll notice that as the political landscape changed I started to theorize that it was becoming impossible for the Republicans to win. But in March there was nothing to suggest that a fundamental political shift was occuring: -
Heroes story line has been brilliant. It may be complicated but its a treat for those who stay up with it and see how its developing.

Well, that unfortunately is life as a law school student and lawyer (unless you go transactional ). My opinion for people that want to be lawyers is that you better get off on stress and pressure. I myself can not work unless there is pressure, so the higher the stakes the more I actually focus. Good luck, there is no possible way to study for the LSAT outside of taking practice tests. Even then its a crap shoot because of the 1 fake section. In my LSAT there were 2 logic and games sections and unfortunately the first one was the fake one. By the time I got to the real section (it was late in the day) I was suffering mental fatigue and I blew it. The most difficult aspects of the LSAT are mental fatigue and the pace of the test. In my opinion I am a blazingly fast test taker, I almost always finish standardized tests first and prior to the LSAT, I had never not completed every single section of every test I have taken. The pace of the LSAT was even quicker than what I was used to and it can unravel people. I actually think that the Bar was easier than the LSAT in terms of pace, I know that I finished all of those sections with plenty of time to spare.

Seriously this is an ongoing trial, its not the best idea to reveal your evidence to the Defense before you have to. Funny thats exactly what the article says: So I guess Fitzgerald is the bad guy?
