  1. Cubs fans should cheer for Z, his defense f***ed him today. Thats actually the only time theyve been cool, they havent been cheering for s***, but at least they know Z gave it what he had.
  2. Im not talking about rebuilding. Im saying that now the Sox have pieces that they know are going to be here for a long time, so when we go out and get free agents we should be getting guys who are going to work well with what we have. We know we have 3 good SPs so we have to find another good one and then have a solid 5th. We know that we need to improve our defense and speed. Right now those positions are being filled by vets who have big pay checks and arent performing. How would getting Manny to replace Thome be rebuilding? Thats where this started lol
  3. Obviously Id like to see the Sox trade a few big money players in the off season. Now that they have Danks, Floyd, Alexei, Queintin there are actually young talented players to build around so the Sox just need to start filling in the rest.
  4. In theory if the Sox got rid of Thome, with OC coming off the books they might start getting in the range of Manny and could play him at DH.
  5. No way is congress going to pass a law like that. Some Republicans come from states that are pretty Democratic, they arent going to end their political career. There also may be some other ways, things like using a state constitution against a federal law, but im not really 100% sure how that works so I dont want to say something thats wrong lol.
  6. Its true I am a lawyer, but Im not a criminal lawyer so some times I sue some times I defend, really just depends on who my client is As for defending Javy, Im not. Im just saying that some people are being ridiculous calling for hurt on him, that people are starting to make Javy a scape goat. They are not mutually exclusive, Javy can be at fault and fans can be over reacting. Im just tired of reading about Javy, just like I was tired about reading about Garland, just like I was tired about reading how Floyd sucked. I just dont see the point on ragging on a player constantly, how is that constructive? How is that in any way going to do anything? Maybe I just remember the days when the Sox didnt even win 1 game from their 5th starter and now we have people who are to good for Javy. Does anyone remember the seasons before 2005 and the parade of garbage that used to pitch for the Sox. I guess its not so much defending Javy as it is that Im sick of reading half the posts on these boards. Not to mention, Javy may be with the Sox next year. If he is, Im going to give him a chance just like any other player.
  7. I only hated Manny cause he was an indian and red sox. When he got traded to the Dodgers I told everyone he would be a star and that "Manny being Manny" would become a LA catch phrase. The guy is hilarious and supremely talented.
  8. Roe v Wade is irrelevant basically, its a scare tactic used on Democrats and call to arms for Republicans. Even if Roe v. Wade were to be over turned it would only mean that it reverted back to individual states being able to make abortion illegal. It is unlikely that every state would ban abortion, therefore it would be nothing more than a hollow victory. I sincerely doubt that Illinois would make abortions illegal. Oh and I think most Supreme Court Justices understand stare decisis and will defer to the judges who came before them. I think Biden won, and Palin just really didnt even participate. She just answered what she wanted to answer and really didnt engage in a back and forth debate that I would of liked to see. It was not really her fault at all because how can you expect some one who has been in this for a few months compete with some one who has been doing this for decades. To compound the problem its not like she was a star speaker to begin with. At the end of the day I think it gives people options to be convinced towards both sides depending on what you are looking for. For me I just dont really like Palin in terms of national/international ability, she may be a great state governor, she just happens to live in a state that does not border any other American state, so im really not sure what her America is like, or how it compares to the rest of America.
  9. I cant find out what type lawyer Biden was, but he obviously is slick when it comes to speaking. He may stumble, he may mispronounce things, but when hes talking he is the star. I read that he was something crazy like 76 out of 85 in his law class and was accused of plagiarism so he obviously was a poor writer. His speaking style is very good and it seemed like almost all of his responses were off the cuff. That really goes over well, because juries/judges and my guess is the American people, like when it appears that you are speaking from the proverbial heart. They want to see the information freely flowing, they want to feel like you are speaking to them and engaging them. Palin sounded like she was a teacher standing at the front of the class giving a lecture, Biden was trying to reach over and be your friend.
  10. I dont care about who has more money. Its just annoying as hell that she keeps trying to act poor, when most likely Biden was much more middle class growing up.
  11. The excuse is going to be that some guy in the stands didnt let Alou make the play after Derosa didnt get the DP. Oh wait im mixing games up.
  12. What is strange is Palin keeps acting like she is really middle class, I think when the asset disclosures come out shell turn out to be more wealthy than Biden.
  13. Biden had no clue the name. But the golden rule in argument is its better to leave something out, than to insert something in that you are 100% sure is right. Even if you make the greatest argument in the world, if you say something stupid it makes it seem like you dont have a clue.
  14. Athomeboy, McClellan was a Civil War General. Thats how I caught it because I know much more about US history than I do about current US foreign policy. She probably got it confused because shes been spending so much time with all those teachers in her life.
  15. Some how i think Manny will get that one back And Im sure hes fine with a 5-0 lead. Z's gotta be pissed he got a tailor made DP ball and the cubs didnt even get 1 out.
  16. Wow she puts that accent on real thick when shes on the defensive. That may work in Alaska, but to a national audience its going to play poorly.
  17. Steff, Didnt you read your Alaskan history book, the Vietnam "conflict" was a roaring success. No soldiers were lost and Vietnam is a thriving democracy...
  18. Dear Governor Palin, John McCain was never involved in a war. Vietnam is considered a conflict, there is no such thing as the Vietnam War as war was never declared. Nor am I sure that historically America won that war... (Edit) She said General McClellan or at least thats what I heard. I recognized it immediately as I was like "that really cant be his name cause thats a famous civil war guy."
  19. She called him Mcclellan... I dont know if thats fact or not, I do know that if you search Mcclellan youll find a Civil war general.
  20. Another huge problem for Palin (and this isnt her fault) is that Biden probably knows McCain better than her. How many times do you think Biden and McCain have worked together, gotten votes for each other, etc. Palin has known McCain for a few months, Biden has been working with him for years...
  21. I know Genius cant read this but: The reason why it makes no sense is she isnt answering the questions, she is answering the questions she was prepped on. So the slight deviations make her answers seem off point. Biden on the other hand is just up there talking, half the time it feels like he is winging it.
  22. Shes reeling. She gives away so much with her expressions. And lol Did you see on that answer how she sped up at the end, she was trying to get the words that she memorized out in time.
  23. Naivitae? That response was written.
