Cknolls, On that Oprah's mother story there is a strange wrinkle that is not really talked about but is really strange... That means that when the store extended credit to her after 2002 that they were in violation of the resolution. Thus the argument is that in 2002 they agreed that they would not extend more credit to her, they broke their part of the agreement, therefore they should not be repaid. Its really odd, because generally a store would not extend that much credit to anyone, yet they did it twice? There has to be more to this, but my guess is that it has something to do with using Oprah's mother to influence Oprah and when Oprah didnt wear the clothes that Valentina wanted they then wanted the money for those clothes. (Thats purely my opinion not based on any facts.) Its just really odd as I said before.

Well generally you wouldnt want a slow guy in the 2 hole because he cant score on singles etc and would need multiple hits to get him in. The Sox may be the exception to the rule though as Thome, Konerko, and Dye are all as slow as Griffey so its not like hes going to be clogging up the base paths or significantly hurting the Sox's chance at scoring. I dont think the Sox would do it, I think that they will use the line up we saw yesterday for the most part.

I dont really care who wins, but for some reason I just have this gut feeling that the Cubs are going to drop this game tonight. Dempster v. Lowe, Lowe is one of the hottest if not hottest pitcher in the National League. I believe he has a sub 1 era in his last 9 starts or something ridiculous and with the cold weather/wind it would be a great night for a sinker ball pitcher. The second part of the equation is Manny Ramirez who just changes the entire dynamic of the LA line up. I just think that a pitcher like Dempster who doesnt have filthy stuff will struggle to get Ramirez. Manny has a great ability to fight off pitches and wear down the pitcher until he gets the one he wants. My prediction 4-2 LA game 1.

Wise and Anderson are locks, well at least Anderson is a lock. Every game the Sox are leading past the 7th well see Anderson fielding (unless Griff is hitting in the 8th then might see it him as a pinch runner). The fact that Ozzie keeps starting Wise suggests he will at least be on the team, he may very well be starting the first game.

I can say that I never bashed the Sox and always believed that they would have a chance to pull it off. I admit that last week things looked grim, but I told every one of my friends when the Sox got swept that I had this feeling the Twins would lose 2 and it would be up to the Sox to get the job done. I would like to thank Gavin Floyd though, many Sox fans took a lot of heat for standing up for Floyd and saying that he should be given a chance to succeed. Im glad that he took his job seriously and showed why he was once a top 5 pick. Even his biggest supporters could not imagine that hed turn around this much in 1 year. Nice work Floyd.

TBS HD wasnt working well at my friends house either. We unplugged the cable box and when it restarted it worked fine for the most part.

Just because the Sox lost the season series due to some self inflicted wounds, doesnt mean that the Sox cant go out and win 3 in a row against the Rays. They just need to stay focused and Javy needs to attack the hitters. And when he gets ahead against young players he needs to finish them off, even last night Jenks threw a 0-2 fastball right down the middle before going to off speed stuff. Why do the Sox always do that?

I love the fact that the Sox actually have momentum going into this game. They scored some runs, the bullpen held the Tigers scoreless, and the whole time the Twins had to watch. Pressure is on the Twins now.

I dont think anyone is acting like the Sox have won either of these games, just discussing how the Sox should handle things should they advance. I really think though that winning this game will be a huge boost for the Sox and may really impact the Twins. Must be emotional to be watching the game have the Tigers get up only then to go back down. Not really knowing if your playing Tampa or if your going to face the Sox, are you in or are you out... For the Sox its simple, just keep winning they havent had time to really think about whats going on, just keep having to show up to the ball park.

Id go with Javy and have Richard available. Even in bad starts Javy has gone 4 innings, you just cant allow the implosion.
