  1. Looks like a bunch of Red Sox fans voted in that poll...
  2. I guess when Im watching baseball I want to enjoy it. DJ makes the telecast more enjoyable with his humor and demeanor. Maybe he doesnt know everything about baseball, but when Im watching the game I generally dont need some one to explain things I already know. I can say that DJ has made me laugh more times watching a Sox game than any other announcer I can remember in Baseball, Basketball, or Football. Uh oh!
  3. I cant believe the NBA lets crap like this happen (Seattle). OKC will move to one of the top teams I cheer against just because Sonics were cool and I suspect that OKC is going to be lame as hell.
  4. I also like DJ. It would really be a shame to see him leave the White Sox as an announcer because I really do enjoy his work.
  5. They went with Fabregas as predicted Im picking Spain, ridiculous offensive talent and pace, just have to make sure they dont do something stupid on defense.
  6. The Sox bullpen is good, if the starting pitching can give us anything we can be in every game.
  7. Thank you sirs, I can remember when I first started posting here, a lot has changed and im glad that I have gotten the chance to meet many of you. (And by meet i mean in the metaphysical internet sense of the word). Perhaps one day well change that metaphysical meeting into something more tangible.
  8. I think its a drastic leap to believe that terrorist organizations are going to bankroll these defense cases. The last thing they want is their money getting to US soil and then all of their bank accounts/ assets frozen. No it would make us look like a country that actually believed in our own principles. Maybe our system isnt perfect, maybe its not right 100% of the time, but its the AMERICAN JUDICIAL SYSTEM. If we cant believe in our own system, then what is the point of any of this? Maybe Saddam was better than the United States if we truly want a system where suspect criminals have no chance of beating the system. But thats not me, thats not what I believe America stands for. Everyone gets their best shot to put on a case and declare their innocence. Some times innocent people are going to lose, and some times guilty people are going to win. I dont know of a better or fairer system, so Ill stick by the one we have. If that means a few people are going to be found not guilty, then so be it. So far I have yet to see any evidence of an impending wave of not guilty verdicts coming from the federal courts. Now who knows, but as of now theyve done a pretty stellar job at convicting everyone and everything, so Im really not that concerned that a bunch of foreigners who 50% of Americans hate and would convict with no evidence are going to be found not guilty. What I do think is that the cases where the prosecutors have little to no evidence will be dropped, as they no longer can hold detainees indefinitely.
  9. Are the terrorists going to have the best lawyers that money can buy? Are the terrorists going to have their trials located in areas that are extremely sympathetic to them? http://www.ojp.usdoj.gov/bjs/fed.htm#Adjudication If they convict 90% of the terrorists in GITMO its unlikely that many guilty terrorists were let free. The OJ Simpson case is the exception, just like Claus Von Buleau and all the other super rich defendants who can put on the best case money can buy.
  10. Contreras was just horrible that inning. I have a feeling Masset is going to hold them for a few innings, the question is did Contreras just give up to many runs.
  11. I usually use the bar in my apartment. Not filled with Cubs fans and reasonably priced. I can hear the Cubs fans hearts break every time they lose.
  12. Well people are dismissing him entirely based on his height. Because if you compare his college stats hes on par with any of those: Barkley: College Stats College stats provided by JazzyJ's College Stat Page. Beasley scored more points per game and had more rebounds per game than any season Malone played. Only Rodman had better points per game or rebounds per game in any season. Then again its impossible to compare any college player to any NBA player as no college player has ever played a minute of NBA basketball. How can you compare Rose and Paul? How can you compare Rose and Williams? I guess at the end of the day you use what you have and hope for the best. People claim Beasley's height will prevent him from being a PF. I have pointed out 3 HALL OF FAME PF's who played at or below Beasley's height. The point is its not going to be his height that dictates whether or not Beasley is a good player, its going to be his skills.
  13. And I wouldnt want Charles Barkley, Karl Malone, or Dennis Rodman. Obviously since none of them were taller than 6'9 they could not have played PF in the NBA.
  14. Jenks, But the key is that the girl on the tape denied it was her. http://www.cnn.com/2008/CRIME/06/12/rkelly...s.ap/index.html I dont know how the govt could have possibly proven beyond a reasonable doubt. If both people on the tape says its not them and you have other relatives saying that its not the girl, its going to be really hard to convince some jurors to send a man to jail. While I doubt that R. Kelly is innocent, I dont blame the jury for finding the way that they did. Our law is clear, the government must prove beyond a reasonable doubt the crimes that R. Kelly was charged with. If even for a moment the juror felt it may not have been R. Kelly, that it may not have been the girl, they had to acquit, that is what the law dictates. I know your more pro prosecution than me Jenks hehe
  15. http://www.law.cornell.edu/constitution/co...n.overview.html If you notice provisions that are explicitly limited to "citizens" specifically say such. All rights not expressly granted to citizens are deemed to be granted to all those in US territory (imo). Thus I believe that anyone detained by the US, should be given the same rights regardless of citizenship or not, as long as the constitution does not expressly limit that right to citizens.
  16. My guess is that the Danks family dropped a hint that John Dankes was considering changing agents. It seems to much like a coincidence that he kept Boras for the draft (where it would hurt his draft stock) to then drop him the next day (when you would get the benefit of Boras negotiation). It almost seems like they purposefully hurt Jordan's draft position. Or After not getting drafted in the first day the Danks family realized that no one wanted to deal with Boras, told some people in the Sox organization that they were tired with Boras representation and the Sox drafted him knowing that he wanted to get a contract signed.
  17. hehe thats why I said supposedly. I read it on a website, I actually dont remember the last time I saw it in syndication or whether it had that scene.
  18. Supposedly in syndication they have removed the scene where the person from one tower yells at the other tower "jerk." But they still have the part where he needs to go to the bathroom.
  19. No way that episode must live on. Crab juice, Khlav Kalash! And that episode was in season 9 so take that its all be bad since season 4.
  20. Walker must have talked with him last night.
  21. Well Beckham also showed the most power in the Cape Cod league of any middle infielder since Longoria according to one publication I read. Ive never seen either of them play, but they both play in the same conference and put up very close stats. One of them plays middle infield, the other plays 1b. Id rather have the middle infielder unless the 1b just blows him out of the water in terms of hitting ability. Here is that article about the cape cod league: http://www.baseballprospectus.com/article.php?articleid=6429
  22. The more I look at the stats, the harder it is to say that you could really pick Smoak over Beckham, unless you just saw something or fell in love with him (Smoak).
  23. After looking at Beckham and Smoak's Junior year stats, its hard to really pass on Beckham. http://secsports.com/new/sports/bbc/08stats/lgplyrs.htm Bekham has a higher average, higher slugging, identical obp and plays a more premium defensive position.
  24. Well this year had That 90's Show, last year had Springfield Up, once again merely taste. When Homer was a missionary that was a good episode (imo), when Home takes over the nuclear plant in India another good episode (imo). Haw Hawked couple and the allegory to Goodfellas I liked. But then again thats just me.
