I told them not to watch the movie Major League. Think of how offensive it was when after each game they won revealed more of their owner. At that was a children's movie, I guess I dont see where all the outrage is. Did anyone get hurt? Where any laws broken? There are a lot of worse things these players could be doing in the locker room, maybe its time the media got over themselves.

I have yet to meet a police officer who has ever started off a conversation with, maybe we made a mistake, or lets discuss things. Its always an allegation of insinuation. /shrugs Its my personal opinion and my personal belief after dealing with police officers in various roles. Perhaps if you disagree you should see how well the Cook County Sheriff reacts when they lose your summons 3x in the same week. You would think with a paper trail they would be more than willing to admit they were wrong, but the Sheriff said and I paraphrase: "I dont care if the sheriff loses all of your documents the next time, your paying for it." Now I am sure that there are good police officers who admit when they are wrong and have made a mistake, just unfortunately they are in the minority. So once again just my personal opinion based on my personal interactions. Another true story about one of my friends is that he was riding a motor scooter to work, the police stopped him and said what he was doing was in violation of Chicago Municipal code (It in fact was not, it was legal per the statute.) The police officer started yelling at him and he put down the kickstand so that he wouldnt fall off. The officer called back up, started yelling in his face and threw him to the ground with several other officers. They then took him to jail for 8 hours (they also took another lady who witnessed the scene to jail because she started yelling at the police officers about why were they doing this.) All charges were dropped and the judge asked that they all "shake hands". The entire incident was expunged, but this is just one incident of hundreds. I guess when you see the police use excessive force so many times it jades your perspective.

I have seen police officers due far worse, to far less imposing figures than Cedric Benson. Police officers 99.9% of the time believe that they are right, they dont ask questions, they just reach conclusions. It appears they never administered a breath test so its going to be really hard to prove anything at this point.

Official Recruiting Thread II

Wisconsin has gotten 2 basketball commits for 2010 recently: Evan Anderson 6'11 Center from Eau Claire and Vander Blue shooting guard from Madison. Im pretty sure that leaves either 0 or 1 scholarship for the 2010 class. -

Wonder why people are staying away from Caldwell. Anyways I would have rather waited till the 4th and tried to get a guy like Hubbard or Monk as a big wr. -

I think the Bears will take Albert, or whoever they believe is the best of Otah, Albert, Williams. Mendenhall will have to learn how to run in a completely new system. -

Yeah the draft is breaking nicely so far, Im just hoping these next 2 picks go the Bears way as well. -
I also thought it looked like Hieroglyphics http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ankh The one symbol looks like a poorly drawn ankh. Its also interesting that the symbol above the "ankh" is is the inverse of the ankh symbol (squiggly line below a circle instead of above it.) Perhaps that is why he is appearing in Tunisia, Middle East, etc because it is a connection to the Egyptian lineage of the island. It also could be some sort of combination of Christian/Egyptian symbols.

well Falcons supposedly want Ryan now, who knows. I hope the draft breaks well for the Bears and they are sitting at their pick with the choice of a few linemen, so that they can pick the guy they want, not the guy thats just left over. In the second i hope they get some sort of game changer, whether it be rb, wr. Id rather wait out qb because now guys like Woodson are slipping and the reality is none of these qb's are locks so why force it. A guy that I like that i havent seen much connection to the bears is James Hardy from Indiana, tall WR who can make plays. Would give the Bears another dimension to go with most of the speed wr's they have. -

So looking to the west, all you can see is darkness and lightning strikes. -
Wow I cant believe there is hate towards South Park. And Im sorry but terrorists attacking our imagination was a pretty damn clever episode. Not as good as when Cartman freezes himself so he can get the Wii, but still worthwhile viewing.

I dont know it as a fact, its just something that ive heard on multiple occasions. I searched it on google and found some sites that said similar things, so I figured id just throw it out there. Maybe its an urban legend.

Im not a scientist, but I believe part of the reason Rolling Rock gets skunky so easy is because it has a green glass bottle. Green glass supposedly does not reflect light as well as the darker brown.

Who cares about his batting average, his job is to get on base. Would you rather .300 with a .330 obp? My answer is no, id rather have a .380 obp regardless of how he gets it as his job as the 2nd hitter is to GET ON BASE. -

Cabrera has a .379 obp.... I guess thats bad now? -
In civil suits the burden of proof is "Preponderance of the evidence." All the lawyers have to get is a restraining order against the Sonics from moving while the case is being litigated and the Sonics will be in Seattle for another 2 years minimum. Its crazy though.

The problem for Longoria is its like insurance, The only way he wins is if something bad happens to hiim. If he plays to his potential he lost a lot of money. Basically he paid up front to reduce his risk.

Woot nice to get Floyd some runs right away. -
Of course they have, it benefits each one of them. CEO Stern gets to limit investment in high school kids. Players get to limit entrance into league, therefore limits competition for their spots, therefore guarantees them more money. The only way its going to change is if some 18 year old phenom with excellent grades challenges it in court. Unlike Lawyer, Dr., where there is public safety to worry about when you give out a license (and nba players need no license to play) i see no legitimate reason to deny people the chance at making their fortune.l I know that current legal interpretation does not agree with my viewpoints, but I believe thats only because no case has been brought where the court could really get behind the person. (ie Clarett was not exactly the poster boy for good behavior.) Find a 4.0 student, who can articulate how stupid it is for him to turn down a lifes worth of income for 1 year of college. With 10million you can go to college more than once.

Because unlike McDonald's, there is no Burger King to the NBA. Due to the nature of the NBA, that it is the only legitimate league in the United States, barring entry prevents an entire class of people from being able to enjoy their dream. It even goes further with the connection of the NCAA to the NBA, that gives the NBA an apparent monopoly (in reality its an oligopoly as there are a few leagues) and control over these players. Thats why I did not compare it to a normal franchise agreement, because in a normal franchise agreement you generally have had options to chose from for your original franchise, and the employees can go from chain to chain with no real problem. (You can work at a McDonalds then if they changed the rule to say you had to be over 18, there would still be jobs at Burger King, etc.) You have no idea how much they could get overseas. If big time Euro companies started a European League with teams in London, Paris, Barcelona, Munich, Berlin, you dont think they could pay top dollar? I dont agree with it on principal. An 18 year old can play basketball as well as a 20 year old, the only sports where there are age restrictions are those which the USA has a monopoly on. You dont see the Chicago Fire unable to sign 18 year old talent (in fact I think they make exceptions to hire 16 year olds in MLS). You dont see a tennis player unable to compete at the US Open, or a golfer unable to compete because of age. Its the NBA who wants to make more money by minimizing its risk. Its good strategy, just unamerican in my opinion.
