I disagree with it. False, this is an apple and oranges comparison. In the NBA scenario there are teams, which is the equivalent of the employer, who want these players. They will gladly pay them, hire them, etc. So it would be like Microsoft wanting to hire people at the age of 18, but the United States govt saying that: "No one can work for microsoft until they are 19 years old." If the rule changed, microsoft would immediately hire the 18 year old, just like NBA teams would immediately start drafting the players. I have no problem is a team does not want to draft 18 year olds, but I have a problem when a league creates a system to purposefully limit the opportunity for people to make money. The reason why they want to make kids wait is to limit their exposure. By forcing kids to go to school 2 years it: A) Allows them more time to watch and evaluate. How many kids were locks to be first rounders at 18 who then bust out? The money they dont invest on busts, is money that they get to save. B ) Allows more time for players to get injured. How much money is lost by players due to injury, look at Oden. He got lucky and was still drafted with an injury, but who knows if he had to miss all this year where hed have gone in the draft. If these kids want to send a message to the NBA and NCAA, go over seas for big contracts and never come back. Imagine when the next wave of Durant's, Beasley's, is playing in Europe, theyll change their tune. Also, imagine if you have a player who would be drafted #1 over all, but cant get into college. Theyd have to sit for no reason. Its a joke, to bad no one cares about NBA athletes, everyone just wants to make money off of them, so no one is their to help them before they have any money.

Let Kansas have their moment in the sun, its not like most of us really wanted to be Jayhawks and were spurned by the school. Is that better? haha -

A lot of Wisconsin fans are upset with the Evans commit because they felt that Wisconsin should have left scholarships open for guys like Jamil Wilson, Rodney White, etc. And its he "chose" the Badgers, Wisconsin has academic requirements so some times they cant get the top basketball players. Love you Jimbo and congrats on the championship. -
To bad thats not saying much seeing as Memphis was about as badly coached in the last few minutes as any team ive ever seen.

In an even bigger bonus Halladay and Rios are on my soxtalk fantasy league team. Blue Jays for life.

Frank Thomas grand slam against Boston. Most shocking part, he hit a first pitch fastball. I cant remember when Frank swung first pitch, but if he starts doing it more often I think he could put up some solid numbers.
-
Hughes down. Bohannon in. Personally I love what Bohannon does and think he makes good decisions with the ball and is an underrated driver and defender. If hughes is down for the 2nd half the name Jarmusz may become important because that would be the next guard off the bench. Lanky white guy, supposedly he can shoot lights out.

Its strange watching a game where Wisconsin is being picked by most of the experts. Hopefully Curry doesnt go insane, should be a fun one.

So the courts tomorrow are going to be raised 2 feet to allow for the crazy new football stadium set up. I wonder if it will be an advantage for Big 10 teams who have to play at Minnesota which still has a raised court. -
Mine is doing decent, dont love it though. If Purdue had won yesterday that would have been huge.

I thought it sounded stupid, After watching MSU handle Pitt the Big East Tourney Champ you didnt hear MSU saying "Well Pitt was like a Penn State or Illinois, probably shouldnt have been in the tournament." I hate Duke, but when you beat them you show class and rub it in their face. You dont act like them. -
I never even knew MU was a rival of Wisconsin until I started reading Rival and Scout message boards. I guess its because im from Illinois and therefore I only really think of Big 10 teams as rivals. I feel for you on the MU game.
-
Say what you want about the refs, but A&M lost because of their own mistakes and missing free throws down the stretch. They were a 9 seed basically playing @ UCLA and had final possession to win the game. I really dont think they could ask for more.
-
Not sure why A&M wouldnt run a play where they penetrate and kick for a 3 to try and just end the game on that possession. Three UCLA players were in the paint, I guess I just dont get it. If you have the chance for the upset imo you take the 3 and go for the win.

Georgetown or Davidson, its fun to get to sit back and know that your team will be playing next week.
-
The part about them not being in the tourney was hyperbole, but it just is tiring to constantly hear how every team is better when some how Wisconsin managed to win 30 games. As for beating USC, I dont really understand why most people went with USC. I could only justify that pick in my upsets bracket because I just really did not feel at all comfortable with USC's ability to score points. I think it will be a good game, I just dont think the K-State coach will play Wisconsin the best way possible and it will lead to a frantic pace for K-State and turnovers bad shots. If K-State plays a slow tempo in half court and grinds each offensive possession you may see Wisconsin lose. I just think they will try and increase the tempo and then it will all come down to whether or not they are hitting 3's in transition. Bottom line, the entire premise of Bo Ryan's coaching philosophy is to be able to beat teams like K-State. They are young, they are not very disciplined, they try and push pace, they have 2 outstanding players, but not much depth. I just think it all favors Wisconsin, but then again I like underdogs (haha).
-
If Wisconsin cant beat K-State they dont deserve to be in the NCAA tournament. USC and Wisconsin are completely different teams in terms of defensive and offensive capabilities. Efficiency: Wisconsin: Offense: 24 Defense: 1 USC: Offense: 48 Defense: 12 K-State: Offense: 21 Defense: 35 If you notice, Wisconsin's offense is just slightly worse than K-State, but their defense is much better. Over the season K-State and Wisconsin had 2 common opponents Colorado and Texas: Wisconsin 78 Colorado 52 Wisconsin 67 Texas 66 K-State 65 Texas 74 K-State 72 Colorado 56 K-State 78 Colorado 72 Wisconsin will not play box and 1, if Walker can score 20+ against Krabbenhoft than Wisconsin will be in for a long night. The problem is Wisconsin will not play box and 1, they will just rotate match ups on Beasley using size at some times and then going with guys like Landry and Krabbenhoft. Walker will be matched up with Flowers and Krabbenhoft and they wont care if Walker tries to post up on Flowers because Wisconsin will have so much more size in every other position. Also Wisconsin tried a new technique last night to combat Cal State's small line up, they just kept whoever was the big man in the paint (Butch) and just switched if his guy went to the perimeter. That way it still was man to man, just Wisconsin wasnt making its big men cover on the outside. On offense whichever big Beasley is matched on (presumably Landry or Butch) they will just feed the ball into and try and get him in foul trouble early. The problem for K-State in this match up is that Wisconsin is just replaceable parts, there is no player that has to do well for Wisconsin to win as any of them can be the star. Now K-State can win, but its going to take some one else stepping up and having another Walker night to really put the pressure on Wisconsin to guard multiple players. Also if K-State can start hot and Wisconsin cold that can lead to Wisconsin getting out of rhythm and not playing at the right game pace. (All efficiency stats courtesy of Kenpom)

8/8 and I have K-State over USC

Just wanted to make sure. I thought MU would beat UK and figured a MU fan would take them as well. I just found out who Pomeroy picked as champion (see sig).
