  1. You picked Kentucky over Marquette???? Or did you pick Kansas over Marquette cause one is KU, the other is UK
  2. Well in every bracket I picked Purdue over Xavier, so we shall see.
  3. Come on Baylor isnt borderline good.... They would have been fighting Minnesota for 6 place in the Big 10 because I didnt see a team (Baylor) that could compete with Ohio State out there.
  4. At work there are 3 entries with Wisconsin winning the whole tournament (1 is my upset bracket). The majority have UCLA v UNC, which is what I have in my competition bracket. As for the picks, i dont know its just based on match ups and how I perceive conferences. I downgraded most Big 12 teams because I felt the conference was weaker than people thought. Purdue over Xavier isnt a huge upset and Purdue over Duke would be, but the way both of those teams play I just feel Purdue may win and since I had both losing to UCLA i figured id take the shot. MSU the only upset is over Pitt and they play very similar styles and MSU just has been inconsistent. If they play like they can they can beat anyone (see Texas and UCLA games), in my upset bracket I have them over Memphis. I just like Izzo and the way his teams play in the tourney. It could burn me, but I watch the games all season Im not going to just believe in experts. (Also accuscore predictions have most of the games close. ie Wisconsin is a favorite with the computers of Georgetown, so the only real upset would be over Kansas, which the comps still had them at 40% chance.) Its just no fun unless you take some risks and represent your conference
  5. Wisconsin Final 4 MSU Sweet 16 Purdue Elite 8 Indiana out against UNC
  6. I almost went all chalk for the most part just because most of these teams are seeded pretty good this year. I went outside of chalk for almost all Big 10 games because I dont believe that the Big 10 is as bad as people think.
  7. Big 10 is the worst conference, I hope everyone picked them all to lose in the first round.... ;>
  8. I have Purdue beating Xavier so I really dont care
  9. In my Soxtalk bracket I have UNC, Wisconsin, Memphis, UCLA UNC over UCLA In my upset bracket I have: UNC, Wisconsin, MSU, UCLA Wisconsin over UCLA 68-64 I like MSU as a team, just they are so inconsistent its hard to really say they can win 4 games in a row.
  10. Wisconsin over USC. All the experts are picking USC so Ill go with the underdog on this one.
  11. Well Vitale also wanted to coach with Knight, and have Digger Phelps too. Im pretty sure Knight was like "WTF why would I ever coach with you, your an idiot" but thats just my guess. Vitale and Knight couldnt agree less on how basketball should be played.
  12. There is a difference between giving a team a good game and being able to beat them. Wisconsin is a premier defensive team and if they can beat Cal State, will face a team that relies on a freshman to do most of the heavy lifting on the offensive end. That is exactly the type of match that Wisconsin would want because they are going to try and frustrate the youngAs foer players into doing stupid things. As for them going to the final 4, not really that insane. The potential path has Georgetown and Kansas, both of which are not the worst match ups for Wisconsin's style of play. Kansas is inconsistent in the tourney and could go down to a team like Clemson. No matter what it will be fun
  13. Cant wait to see what Knight says about Wisconsin, I know he loves defense and loves Bo Ryan.
  14. I really feel like Wisconsin is one of the least likely teams to get upset in the first round. Maybe thats the me being a homer, but your team is going to have to shoot lights out to win. If they can drain the 3 they can win the game. Otherwise, good luck.
  15. Oh you Cal State. Anyways 3 seed in the Midwest isnt so bad and hopefully Wisconsin can get some good fan support in Omaha (closest regional and could potentially face 2 west coast teams). At the end of the day not the worst not the best.
  16. Well Wisconsin took care of Illinois and won the Big 10 tournament. Im already getting ready to get disappointed about Wisconsin's seed in the tournament, so its always pretty sucky on selection day.
  17. The reason that Wisconsin was able to take advantage of the paint more is because the guards in the game after Hughes went down, Bohannon and Flowers, rarely look to make their own shot early in the clock and dump it down to the big men. Hughes on the other hand some times dribbles around and tries to make his own shot, or takes a deep three, etc. Does it hurt depth? Sure. Does it make them vulnerable at guard to a team like Minnesota or Illinois? I really dont think so.
  18. Wisconsin only outscored MSU 30-18 after Hughes went down. Wisconsin only beat Texas @ Texas without Hughes. Hes a good player, but at times hes not a Wisconsin player. Look at his stat line, I bet he was like 1 of 7 or something stupid. Sure he is a great athlete, but he some times he doesnt play with the TEAM. Illinois or Minnesota still have to beat Wisconsin, and if they do they deserve to be in the tournament.
  19. Minnesota may have won, they need to replay it, but from what I saw its a win...
  20. Illini win, first 10th seed in history of big 10 tourney to advance to semi's. Congrats Illini, to bad you need to win the tournament to get to the dance because I think they might have a shot against Indiana or Minnesota, but itd be hard to then also beat MSU or Wisconsin.
  21. And he misses 2, calasan from Purdue shoots a horrible 3, Hummel trys to tip it in, on the scramble Illini get the ball and a foul. Meachem at the line this time.
  22. Well Illini at the line and Brock misses his first...
