  1. Those comments were made before Carlwell decided to transfer. Im not exactly sure whats wrong with what Weber said, I understand Carlwell went through a tragic accident, but at the same time should Weber just give him a spot on the team and not expect him to work as hard as the rest of the players? At the end of the day, Carlwell has been looked at as a victim, and therefore he has been given a lot of concessions. I cant find an article, but im pretty sure that Carlwell had been drinking that night as well.
  2. It doesnt matter, the visa is the key to his entire life. He has an agent, which means he has an attorney in the United States. Its just plain negligence to not have your attorney on that type of thing. I mean if I had a client who worked in the United States and needed a visa, i can guarantee that I would keep myself updated on all visa laws regardless of how new they were. Laws change all the time, city of Chicago changes laws all the time, if its important enough you make sure that its not a problem. I work with visas and attorneys who do immigration, our clients arent MLB players but we some how manage to make it so their visas dont expire or have problems when they are reentering the US.
  3. Ive seen comments, not sure which ones your referring to? Are they the ones where he said Carlwell needs to lose weight and work harder?
  4. My three favorites to win (in no particular order); David Arquette (I think thats his name its the 17 year old kid who was like "Ryan im only 17" he also say Bryan Adams "Heaven") Ramiele Mulabaya (or however you spell it, yes shes hot) Asia'h *That Alexandrea was not bad, but I dont feel like expanding to a top 5. Also I felt that there were less guys with a chance of really winning than girls but its hard to judge just off that performance especially with song choices.
  5. Richar having visa problems? Thats just gotta be stupidity because hes already been in the US.
  6. There needs to be rules on rushing the court. When I saw them rush against K-State I was confused.
  7. Here is my Big Ten Prediction (First with my head, then with my heart): 1. Purdue (Wins out) 2. Wisconsin (loses 1) 2. Indiana (loses 1) 4. MSU (loses 2) In the Big 10 tournament Purdue would be the #1 seed, Wisconsin #2 seed because of head to head. Not that it really matters as im pretty sure that the game is being played in Indiana this year. Here is my heart prediction: 1. Wisconsin (wins out) 2. Purdue (loses 1) 2. Indiana (loses 1) 4. MSU (loses 2) If Purdue and Wisconsin tie it will be so bitter because all Wisconsin had to do was protect home court.
  8. Anyone watching the Wisconsin game may see a really rare site, a Wisconsin player fouling out. Krabbenhoft has 4 with 8 minutes left and a few other guys have 3.
  9. I know Im just making this up for comedic effect, but I swear I read Bohannon'slips and he said to Flowers: "you know I cant guard a black guy"
  10. Weber gets a TO. He must have said something really bad, or just the refs hate him because I didnt really see him do anything. Tim Jarmusz playing his first meaningful minutes (meaningful as in the game isnt out of hand yet) and he gets a rebound. Randle injured his arm on a screen earlier. Strange game, and why does Bo have to keep Bohannon on the bench to start. Yes I know he likes to use the same starting line up, but every game Wisconsin gets off to a slow start when hes on the bench. His range and ability to drive makes space for everyone.
  11. Some what nervous about Ill, wish they would have beaten Indiana so this game wouldnt be as important.
  12. Mr Basketball and McD are 2 different things. Devin Harris, Mike Wilkinson, Keaton Nankivil were all Wisconsin Mr. Basketball, and I dont think any even got a vote for McD.
  13. Well Steve many people play basketball outside. It would be like saying baseball is an outdoor sport so therefore should never be played indoors? Once the NBA plays a game outdoors, then outdoor basketball is part of the NBA. Its for fun, who cares.
  14. Dope. Can be used to describe, marijuana, heroin. Also can be used instead of "truth/facts" or "good". That weed was dope. (good) Do you have any dope? (drug) What is the dope? (truth or fact) Dank. Dank- high quality marijuana Dank- good Do you have any dank? (drug) John Danks is a dank pitcher. (good) Not sure how the terms have progressed, but my guess is that the terms started off as drug culture, and then became terms used in regular culture.
  15. Butch was a McD. Tucker, Devin Harris, and any other Bo Ryan recruit was not. Not really that important imo.
  16. Take it youve never played tennis without a wind screen? Wind is one of the biggest factors in HS tennis, even with windscreens. If the wind is in your face its entirely different than the wind being at your back. Wind side to side can change the entire match, even on the serve a gust of wind can completely screw up where the ball goes and the mechanics. It just depends on the shot, a ground stroke with massive top spin that is kept close to the ground wont be impacted, a lob shot can some times move 15-20 feet, I doubt any basketball is going to be moved even 5 feet by wind, its just to heavy.
  17. Indiana is not exactly attacking Purdue the way I would have. Yes they are up, but I think they could have really put Purdue in a bad situation with fouls. And Purdue is just shooting so poorly, its like payback from all of the great shooting games.
  18. Might does not make right. Just because a country can do something, does not mean that it is the best thing to do. Kosovo is putting the United States in a precarious position with Russia (and my guess eventually China), and its likely both will end supporting Serbia, so Kosovo independence is not going to be that easy. Dont worry there wont be a war after the war to end all wars because we have a league of nations. Dont worry there wont be any war after world war II because there is the UN. So no one has died in a combat since 1918, because I was told there would be no more war...
  19. From what I can tell, Kosovar's consider their ethnicity to be albanian or serbian, there is no separate ethnicity for those in Kosovo. Also a telling point is that Kosovar's do not have their own language, they speak Albanian for the most part, they do not have their own currency. http://www.state.gov/www/regions/eur/fs_99...svo_ethnic.html If you notice, the United States govt does not once mention "Kosovars" as an entity to themselves. They are always referred to as "Albanian" kosovars. Im not saying which side has the better claim to Kosovo, I am saying that the way Kosovo went about declaring its independence creates a very touchy situation. Lets just throw out an example: The media claims that eventually white people will be the minority in the US, so its likely that in a South Western state like AZ, New Mexico, Cali, Texas, that the latino population could be the majority. If the majority of Texas voted to rejoin Mexico, and Texas declared its independence from the United States, would that be acceptable? Also do not forget that Texas only became a state in 1845, prior to that it had been a Spanish Colony and part of Mexico, so it definitely has its own identity. Texas also declared its independence unilaterally from Mexico, once again the result of that declaration was a war. My point is why did Kosovo unilaterally declare when in almost every case unilateral declaration of independence leads to war?
  20. My guess is that the Bears have worked deals with all 4 rosenhaus clients, and therefore will be keeping Briggs and Berrian, as well as extending Tommie Harris.
  21. knight, But Quebec is not right next to France hence why it began to develop independently. Kosovo is right next to both Albania and Serbia, can you think of another nation that is comprised of 2 other nationalities that surround it, but has no nationality of its own? Well the difference is Britain set historical precedent in that they do not respect these type of unilateral declarations. When the US unilaterally declared independence from Great Britain, the result was the Revolutionary War. Great Britain felt that it was still in control of the United States and it did not respect our declaration. Thousands of people were killed in the fighting. I think that at the end of the day that is the type of thing that most people want to prevent. Im not saying that Kosovar's or whatever they are called may not exist, I am saying that when you unilaterally declare independence it sets a precedent. And I dont necessarily agree with that precedent. Now Serbia, Russia, et al have to respond to these actions. Im not exactly comfortable where it puts the US on the world front. We have problems in the Middle East, the Balkans is another potential trouble spot, I dont really see the need for the US once again having to keep the peace when all sides could have tried to work out something.... But thats my opinion.
  22. Well Kosovo only has 2million people and a total area of 4,000 squar miles. Quebec has 4million people and a total area of 595,000 square feet. For comparison, the state of NJ is 8,000 square miles. The problem with your comparison is as following: 1) Slav is pointing out that Kosovoans are really Albanians (there is no distinct Kosovoan if you look up Kosovo the ethnicities are Albanian 92%, Serb 5.3%, 2.7% other) 2) Because there is no "kosovoan" unlike Quebecois, there is no nationality. Slav is pointing out that the people in Kosovo for the most part still identify themselves as albanians or serbians, not as Kosovoans. As for it being like a latin-american, no its not. Latin-american's are not creating seperate states from the United States. The reason that the "american" part is attached is because they are joining us. Where as Kosovoans are breaking away from the 2 nationalities they normally identify with (albanian and serbian) Or atleast thats what I see.
  23. Okay, I cant argue with that. If you just want to completely write off every game in the season, then lets do it. It all comes down to opinion: As for totally disregarding, no Im not. Everyone keeps bringing back the same 7-8 reams as better than Wisconsin, Purdue, Indiana, MSU, but all of those teams (the big 10 ones) are ranked outside of the top 10. To say they are over rated means that there are 9 teams better than Wisconsin, 13 better than Purdue, 14 better than Indiana, and 17 better than MSU. That is my argument, not that they are the top teams, not that they are better than Kansas, Duke, UNC, Tenn, Memphis, etc. And I honestly put Kentucky in as a joke, if you read back through this thread youll see I thought Indiana was vastly over rated to begin the season, so I think thats what is really hurting the Big 10. People thought Indiana was the top team, so when they lost to Xavier it really shook peoples confidence in the Big 10. Where as I thought Indiana would "finish closer to third than first" and it appears that will be the case. You have to understand that when I read all of this it comes from "experts" saying that Wisconsin would not even make the NCAA tournament. So its hard to now be "over rated" when Wisconsin had to earn its way up the rankings. Maybe they arent the 10th best team, but they have won enough big games to deserve that ranking.
  24. No drugs and rehab are hot, if I saw Brittney on the street Id so want to get with her. We can rebuild her, we have the technology. I mean if I was a rich Id just hope I wasnt stupid enough to get caught. I really think I could teach them how to pay for a limo driver instead of driving drunk/high/etc.
  25. This has turned me off to her. Wow
