  1. Israel is a different country. I don't necessarily agree with how israeli's act. But that is a topic that is too far afield. Sharpton and Farrakhan aren't President, they are unelectable. Trump has had his chances to try and help stamp out antisemitism, he's failed. If you dont know why nationalism is scarier than socialism for jewish people, im not sure what to say. For a good part of history Jews were persecuted for being "communists".
  2. Jews dont play well to his base and will hurt Republican optics for the election. Its better that we pretend Jews and Israeli's arent the same thing, or better yet, we just help Israel, while still secretly disliking Jews, because anything ruling Jerasulem better than the alternative, Jews and Nationalism dont fit together, When a Jew hears "Im a Nationalist", it reminds them of one thing. When they hear "Good people on both sides", it means something. Its easy to say MAGA and all that jazz when you were on the side of the oppressor. Its not so great, when you were the oppressed in the past. Its the life we chose to lead, almost 6,000 years of this. The mourners kaddish is one of the most beautiful and sad things at the same time. Just like life.
  3. Pretty sure this guy wasnt thinking at all. Im guessing his defense is going to be insanity based on some of the comments from his former lawyer.
  4. Not sure if this is legitimate or not. But seems Filipino, not Latino: https://heavy.com/news/2018/10/cesar-sayoc/
  5. That is really what AP classes are for. I started college with over 40 credits and could have had an additional 20 if I would have taken 1 foreign language class to qualify for retro credits. Bio 101 you can get in HS as a Sophomore. I dont believe I took anything lower than a 300 level in college.
  6. Loans are the only thing that give many people a chance. Not many people grow up with parents who can spend 500k on education (that is for multiple kids). Without loans the barriers would be even higher. College used to be the barrier, the reason its now masters/law/doctor is because the upper class wants to make sure that their kids always have a built in advantage. Loan debt isnt a consideration, masters/law school is just basically 2-3 extra years of partying for them. But it gives their kid a built in advantage in the market.
  7. College is a barrier of entry. Its not different than law school. Its a way to keep people out of the market and therefore have less competition for jobs. If masters becomes too common, then it will be double masters etc.
  8. The only concern I have about WCJ is that he is too tentative on offense right now. I hope that its just hes young, but I really want to see them start setting him up for some easy dunks etc to get his offensive confidence up.
  9. If this is the real lavine then i was really wrong about the Butler trade.
  10. Fair, but I honestly feel that people have just forgotten about Microsoft because its not as flashy as some other companies.
  11. Yeah i dont know. Microsoft was down 5% or so and most people expected they were going to beat earnings (which they did).
  12. I feel it snowballed later in the day because people started to realize the extent of what was going on. But who knows, there is nothing else really out there that I have seen that makes sense.
  13. I think those bomb threats are killing the stock market today.
  14. Im not saying illegal is a roadblock, Im saying that is one of the main things that gives bitcoin its value. If a drug dealer wants someone to wash money, they are probably going to pay 30% or more off the top. Its a lot easier to deal in bitcoin. And the reason why its hard to buy a car in bitcoin is because its volatile (the same reason it makes an investment.) A car company wants to sell a car for a certain value. It doesnt want to sell the car for a babe ruth rookie card. That doesnt mean that the babe ruth rookie card may not one day be worth more than the original value of the car, its just that companies arent in the business of collectibles. I think your last sentence is exactly right.
  15. Bitcoin is good as shadow money when you dont want regulation. The problem is that 99% of people want some sort of regulation because they want to know that their money has value. Bitcoin is great if you want to buy illegal stuff. Bitcoin is great if you want to buy from countries that are under sanctions. But I cant see a regular company/person wanting to do business in bitcoin. Illegal markets can be very lucrative. But they are also extreme risk. The best chance bitcoin has is the US acting stupid and people losing faith in the dollar to the point where bitcoin became the defacto world currency. The problem still is that without any oversight/regulation are you really going to trust this?
  16. The Sox drafted Ron Schueler's daughter...
  17. If the Bulls somehow got a guy like RJ Barrett things would be looking much better.
  18. It was always a currency idea. Basically trying to remove a central bank who had authority to regulate the currency.
  19. How does it improve on things like Venmo, Chasepay, etc? Having to exchange my money into a different currency seems like an unnecessary step for the average person. The entire point of Bitcoin was it was supposed to be more stable than the dollar and other currencies, and it wasnt supposed to be at the mercy of the market. Bitcoin becoming a commodity defeated the whole purpose of the idea. Im not saying that people cant make money from it, just investing in bitcoin should be the equivalent of taking dollars and putting them under your mattress. Yes the dollar may increase value against other currencies, but its not a real investment strategy.
  20. I dont like crypto and I never have. I may be old fashioned, but if someone cant sell me on a subject in a few sentences I pass. Someone who worked with me used to be into crypto, I would always ask him to explain why it made sense if we excluded black market and illegal activities as its purpose.
  21. Yeah Im hoping that he bulks up as he ages, but part of me thinks hes got a Chris Bosh frame.
  22. Yeah the roster construction isnt that great right now. The other problem is that the defense is just horrible. Several times yesterday guys just ran to double for no reason, which then led to open shots. Its crazy but it seems like WCJ is basically the defensive anchor. Its a lot to pin on a 19 year old, but the Bulls need to start trusting him 1 on 1 on defense because the rest of the team just doesnt have the capability to switch well. The good news is that Lavine is playing better than anyone could have imagined. A starting line up of WJC/Lauri/Lavine/Dunn actually looks like a place to start. They need a SF badly, whether its by tank or FA. Most importantly, Hoiberg needs to give WCJ 30+ minutes a night. There is no reason not to.
  23. SS2k makes a great point. If you have a 20% (just a hypothetical) interest rate credit card, its better to pay that off first. And dont look at your stocks today.
  24. He plays with a lot of black holes on offense. He shot 19/46 from 3 in college and shot over 58% from the floor. In comparison, Noah has only shot 17 3's in his entire career (NCAA and NBA). He has made 1. The bulls offense is going to be a lot different when Lauri gets back. With Lavine playing really well, Carter's offense is really not a huge issue. Hes young and tentative. Look at Bosh's stat lines his first year. He had a lot of games where she shot really poorly.
  25. Thats a horrific hot take. Carter's shot is immensely better than Noah. He is maybe the best defender on the Bulls and there is a reason why when he left the game its when the Mavs ran up the lead. I mean less than Noah? Come on.
