I dont get this, why is Danks vs Floyd not a reasonable comparison? Floyd Top 5 pick, Danks top 10 pick. http://www.thebaseballcube.com/players/F/Gavin-Floyd.shtml http://www.thebaseballcube.com/players/D/John-Danks.shtml In fact at 21 Floyd put up better stats in AA than Danks did. So he has had 2 rough seasons where he may not have been handled properly by the Phillies. This year he has a 3.5 era in AAA, not exactly sure why anyone would give up on a guy with his talent. As for the post, I believe that what was being implied was that one of our older starters would be traded so that Floyd can move into the 5th spot. Edit Basically we should be thankful the Phillies messed with this guy, because there was no way we would get some one with his talent and pedigree fi they were living up to their potential for Freddy.

I like it. Wouldnt necessarily go out of my way to buy it, but if given it Id enjoy.

Hmm if is where I think it is you should be able to see it from any brown/purple line. And the Franklin Washington lot was packed yesterday it looks like a trailer park.

I think coaching changes make more sense when you have younger impressionable players. When you look at the White Sox roster, who exactly is going to start taking new lessons from a new hitting coach? I think with a veteran group some times its better to stick with your guns, because atleast you keep the team mentality. They are all sucking together, and they all know that if they keep going down this route many of them are not going to be here much longer. Its not an "I" thing, its a "we" thing.

People on this board are AT BEST half as smart as they used to be. You spout on this board like you are a god, as if you have some sort of insight that no one else in the world has. But honestly you know nothing about the Sox, nothing about being a Sox fan, and show absolutely no loyalty towards your team. Williams won a championship. Not one of us on this board had ever seen that prior to KW being hired, and many of us may never see it again after. If KW was not our GM it is pretty likely that we do not win the 2005 World Series. And maybe it was a fluke, who even cares, the point is, WE WON THE WORLD SERIES. No one can ever take away the parade, the singing on Wacker, any of the moments that every real Sox fan got to live. So Im going to give him the benefit of the doubt, they won 90 games last year, why dont you check how many times they won 90 games in back to back seasons before KW. And Vazquez is a good pitcher, cant win games when no one is scoring runs. Id say Vaz will likely have the lowest era of any Sox pitcher this year. What a terrible player.

Hope the fans cheer him, because Carlos was a great Sox player.

If it is a CC not a debit, call your CC company and tell them that the bar is charging your card fraudulently. They will reverse the charges and force the bar to prove to them that they were legitimate. Visa, Master Card, etc are real bastards to vendors who screw their cardholders and they have almost unlimited resources to fight the bar.

You cant change people and the fact that you are already putting your own value judgements on how her parents treat her does not bode well. Your 20 shes 17, if you think you are going to be able to take on her parents at this point in your life you are going to be humbled. My advice is to toss your attitude and either give whatever her parents want you to be the good old fashioned college try, or just let it be.

Last night was not a competition, it was a coronation. Once Melinda went down at 3, it really became a 1 person show, and if Jordin does not win I would be extremely surprised. But at the same time, whenever you let people vote for something, especially when you can vote multiple times, etc, you have to wonder who has the more passionate dedicated fans? That is what scares me about Blake's chances, that he has a bunch of pre-teen girls who called for 4 hours straight with their mom last night. Jordin will be a good idol, but the finale was a let down.

Bears DE Alex Brown asks premission to seek a trade
Soxbadger replied to Steve9347's topic in A and J's Olde Tyme Sports Pub
This sucks Brown is a really good DE and there was basically no need for the Bears to draft Bazuin. If anyone should go its O-Gun. -
In a lot of professions drinking, clients, etc are part of the job. There are plenty of people out there with corp accounts that they charge alcohol, meals, etc on. Now there are other professions where drinking is off limits, thats not to say people dont bend the rules, its just a case by case basis. In any event we are not discussing drinking and playing, it is after the game has ended. Its more like a corporate picnic, which would almost undoubtedly have some sort of liquor. The difference is no one knows John and Jane Doe who went out and got slammed at the XYZ corp picnic and then got killed on the highway.

Well I definitely think last nights episode has put things into context. Benjamin: Benjamin, was the twelfth and youngest son of Jacob. His mother was Rachel, Jacob's wife. Benjamin was born during the journey that Jacob and his family took from Padan Aram to Canaan. His mother Rachel named him "Ben-oni," meaning "Son of my sorrow," before she died during the childbirth, but Jacob called him Benjamin. Joseph, Benjamin's brother was sold into slavery by his other brothers. That just cant be coincidence.

Torii Hunter should be getting a 3 YEAR suspension
Soxbadger replied to southsider2k5's topic in The Diamond Club
Why would some one think that giving a team 4 bottles of champagne for something that happened last year would be a big deal? Um because its not. I could see if Hunter bought them all cars, or did something that was substantial enough to perhaps impact the Royals. But for a baseball player a bottle of champagne is a gag gift. Most of those players make more money in an hour than all of the bottles were worth, so its not like they are going to start throwing games because "hunter gave us a few bottles." Not to mention it was for winning that he gave them a gift. It would be much more serious if the story was: Twins swept KC, then Hunter gave them champagne. Does anyone think that this played any role at all in the games played between KC and Detroit? -

The 2007 Big Ten/ACC Challenge
Soxbadger replied to greasywheels121's topic in A and J's Olde Tyme Sports Pub
im glad wisconsin is getting a shot at Duke. Even though its an away game they should have a pretty good shot. Its hard to tell how the loss of Tucker and Taylor will impact the team, but if other guys step up the team should be more talented overall. It just wont have the 1 guy who was most relied upon to score. -
J-Man Havent tried to fix my computer yet. I have a computer to work with it this weekend so fingers are crossed. I do most of my posting at work where I do have a computer. Now how should you act: Act like you want to act, there is no good answer to this. Some girls react to hard to get uninterested, etc. Some girls react to sweet/romantic. Id say be somewhat sweet, maybe even something that is suprising and gentlemenly. But do not go over board and start acting like this first date is the beginning of a 10 year relationship etc. Play it cool etc. Basically just be yourself and if it works it works, if it doesnt it doesnt. But if you arent going to be yourself then why the hell are you even getting invovled in this messed up situation anyways.
-
Well im currently on the other side of the spectrum. And judging from your information, your not taking my gf out on a date so here is what i have to offer. You have only known this girl for a week, so dont put the cart before the horse. Just go out tonight and have a good time. The stuff with her ex is going to work itself out one way or another. At this point all you can worry about is yourself. If you get hung up with other stuff the date will tank period. Who knows you may go out not even like her and all this stuff will be moot. But if for godforsaken reason you do go out with her, feel that she is the girl of your dreams, and you cant live with out her, then I will come back and give you some advice on how to take down an ex. Just for now think of it this way: Everyone has a past. Hers is just more immediate at the moment. But she has chosen to go out with you. So let the past be the past and just see what happens in the moment.

Its not conclusive but you can look at the current Court cases on the Circuit Court Website (provided she filed in Cook County) https://w3.courtlink.lexisnexis.com/cookcou...eras&CDate= As you can see it is not listed, the one Jose case pro se (without attorney) and does not involve children. As for special process servers, they can be dicks, they can be nice. It depends on the message your trying to get across.

Pac Man gone for season, Henry for 8 games
Soxbadger replied to WilliamTell's topic in A and J's Olde Tyme Sports Pub
If I was an NFL player I would be contacting my attorney (not NFLPA one) asap. I dont understand why the NFLPA would want to give such power to the commissioner? By enlarging these rules and giving them very indefinite terms basically 50% of the NFL could be suspended at any given time. Is Belicheck going to get suspended for pickling that other guys wife? I would say that it falls under: "Conduct that undermines or puts at risk the integrity and reputation of the NFL will be subject to discipline, even if not criminal in nature." Not exactly putting your best foot forward when one of your most prolific coaches is supposedly breaking up marriages. -

Soxbadger replied to WilliamTell's topic in A and J's Olde Tyme Sports Pub
I dont know what to think of this, I really dont like rules that are put into place after the actions have taken place (ex post facto). The article implies that the NFLPA is agreeing with this, and if that is the case then I expect that the suspensions will stand. If however the NFLPA realizes that they are giving up an extreme amount of power by basically letting the commisioner suspend anyone for "detrimental conduct" and they decide to fight it, I really doubt that the suspensions will stand. I dont have the contracts or anything between the NFLPA, NFL, etc, but the fact that such a suspension has never happened before for much worse conduct, think Ray Lewis, Jamal Lewis, its hard for me to agree with such harsh suspensions. T Im of the belief that what you do on your own free time is just that, and as long as they are not breaking the law (which should be handled by the judiciary) then they can do whatever they want. If I want to go to a strip club and shower 40k, no one is going to stop me, so why should they not have the same freedom? Seems more like the No Fun League. -
Gio was a first rounder, Buerhle was like a 22nd rounder. They are not just going to rush Gio to the majors and put him in the bullpen where he may or may not get work. They are going to take their time with him and hopefully it works out for the best.

Julian Wright to go Pro
Soxbadger replied to Jimbo's Drinker's topic in A and J's Olde Tyme Sports Pub
I dont know I think that outside of Texas I really dont see many teams in the Big 12 improving vastly, and KU still will have one of the best classes in the conference if not the best class. A&M is on its way down, and if Texas loses Durant they wont be as nearly as a dynamic team. It would be a lot different if KU was playing in a different conference, as it is I still think they will be favorites for the Big 12 title. -

Soxbadger replied to Jimbo's Drinker's topic in A and J's Olde Tyme Sports Pub
Luckily you play in the Big 12, even if you lost your entire starting 5 you would still probably be the 1st or 2nd best team. -
What is the better job, KU or UK? Strange to see a Self guy get such a prominent job when Self hasnt wont a NC yet, which is the bottomline at UK.

Actually it is "our" as I believe Tony was trying to express that he is part of the Sox organization. The correct way to use "are" would be: So far in 2007, the starting pitchers are terrible. Sorry Stevo.
