Im not a huge Anderson supporter, but its pure stupidity to give Estrad the job. Now 2 weeks into the season if Erstad is hitting .400 and BA is hitting .250 sure start taking some atbats away, but gotta give the young guy a chance because Erstad will handle being a bench/role player better as a vet.

Yeah I liked Wright's stuff, just like I liked Rocky Biddle (I believe he pitched during Cal Ripkens last game and struck out the frst 3-4 batters), but the reality is that even Wright with his arm completely healthy was not even close in comparison to Floyd and Danks are as spects. And speaking of ruling in DPBL, arent you glad we got Sisco?
-
You dont think that Floyd will win 47 games in his career? Hes already got 7. Which is more than Schoenweiss had until age 26. I really think you have no clue about Floyd.
-
Are people honestly comparing Danks/Floyd to our 5th starters of old including guys like Grilli, Schoenweiess, Dan Wright, and Felix Diaz? Danks and Floyd are light years more talented than these guys.

I dont think RPI is the be all end all, just that you could argue that each big 10 seed could have gotten atleast 1 seed higher for the most part (except for Purdue). If the Big 10 had the "prestige" of the ACC I think that would have happened. -

MSU beat Texas, they just did poorly in Big 10 play... If you went by RPI: OSU 1, aka 1 over all Wisconsin 4, aka 1-2 seed MSU was 25, aka 6-7 seed Indiana was 28, aka 7-8 seed Illinois was 30, aka 7-8 seed Purdue was 44, aka 10-11 seed Just saying that by the numbers the Big 10 were seeded lower almost down the line. -

I guess when in your brackets youve only missed 1 and 2 games respectively you start to feel comfortable in your assessment of the season. Its not like I all of a sudden have been saying the Big 10 is the best conference, I was arguing when they had only 3 seeds in the bracketology. I think that most of the teams wont go much farther, but that still doesnt mean that the Big 10 didnt validate itself as one of the premiere basketball leagues. -

Random hot streak beyond the arc happens all the time for them. They are a streaky offensive team and thats why their defense keeps them in games. If anything the Badgers showed that if they need to score they can score 100 points in a game (2 halfs of 50 would equal 100). Just because they didnt try and up the tempo early and let the game get out of control shouldnt be a penalty. Some horses are sprinters, some horses are stalkers. All that matters is the finish line. -

If MSU, Purdue, Indiana would have been seeded like ND, etc they would have had a much better chance. Just because the 3 teams are facing 2 1's and the top 2 respectively is no disrespect to them. Wisconsin and OSU shoould both make deep tourney runs and its not out of the world to think 1 of MSU, Purdue, and Indiana will pull an upset. -

"Down year" Thats exactly what Im talking about. How is going 5-1 in the the NCAA tournament a "down year". Just because people think the Big 10 style isnt good doesnt mean when the games are actually played thats how its going to turn out. I think the Big 10 has shown that this was not a "down year" just that it doesnt get as much respect as the Pac-10 or ACC. -

I wish they would have won, but atleast they showed up and gave a much higher seed a really tough time. Maybe if the Big 10 had gotten more respect Illinois gets a better first round match up and wins. -

If I were Illini Id go for the win on this possession. Might as well either win or lose with the ball in your own hands. -

You score in games you need to score in. It would be one thing if teams were putting up 80 and wisconsin was always hitting 60, but there is a reason that they score less, they slow down the game. If you are taking 30 seconds per possession you are not going to get as many points as running up and down the court. Its easier to try and run and have to make something happen when you have quality offensive players, than it is for a team that is great offensively to have to play an entire game of half court defensive oriented basketball. Havent seen much of Nevada this year, but if Wisconsin plays their game (2nd half of today) then I dont really see a problem. They just cant be so terrible to start, because they do have a tendency to come back but at the same time youd rather not be in that position. -

Well Wisconsin decided that they werent just going to settle for 3's in the second half and have really driven towards the rim. I think playing Oden last week screwed them up mentally because they were thinking that every time they drove they were going to have some monster in there face. Now they are realizing they are just to quick and strong for AM. Plus the other team is just beat. In the first half they were contesting every shot, now they are leaving Mr. Iowa Bohannon open and hes 10x the 3point shooter of anyone else on the team. As long as he gets quality looks the Badgers will score points. The problems come against a team like OSU or MSU who will play premiter defense the entire game and never give those open looks. -

Cut it to 8 at half and 2 fouls on their best player. This game should not be close but Wisconsin got sloppy and started launching 3s. Ever since they have gone aggressively to the basket its been an entirely different game. It also is much easier to fast break when a team is luanching 3s that shoot out long rebounds, versus pounding the paint. -

Hate to see a game start this way but if Wisconsin can get it under 10 at half I really think they can come back. They have shot as bad as possible and are not out of the game yet so if some shots start falling Wisconsin should be fine. Better to get your cold game out in the first round. -
You say loyalty should be a two way street and that some how Weber was disloyal first but: That shows that it was Deron and Dee that had a problem, not Weber. And Im sorry but if you are a member of a team, and you are telling people that your team is not the best, thats disloyalty. Thats being disloyal to the rest of your teammates who are battling with you and practicing every day. I wonder how Dee and Deron would have felt if when they were Frosh etc, if the Upper classmen were dissuading younger players from coming to the Illini. I dont see where Weber betrayed any of them. Dee should not have left for the pros, as it is even after senior year he was not going to be a good pro. And theres a difference between telling the truth and "if you dont have anything nice to say dont say anything at all". Cant really imagine it ever going over well a player on a team dissuading future players from coming to that school. If they didnt like Illinois, then they can have their names erased from all the school records for that season.

Why everyone has said the Big 10 was one of the worst conferences, after the first day, not 1 Big 10 team has lost. As for "Wisconsin not being able to score" what teams outside of the Big 10 shut them down? They laid waste to Pitt: (7) Wisconsin 89, (2) Pittsburgh 75 So the whole "Wisconsin cant score" is highly over rated -
How are Deron or Dee a Weber player? Both were recruited by Self, and then when Self left both inherited Weber. Its not like Weber brought any of these guys in. If anything it shows a complete lack of loyalty by Dee and Deron, and if that ever was to happen with a Wisconsin player I gaurantee a blackball would be a coming.

Upgrade your windows media player. I have 2 laptops at home and a computer at work, only 1 of them can really run it well. The other 2 have mysterious problems that I cant seem to understand.
