  1. No I would rather play as a 2 seed in StL, than 1 seed in Cali versus UCLA. So I dont think that Wisconsin lost the seed to KU at all, UCLA lost the 1 seed to KU. Wisconsin was never going to get one unless it beat OSU in the tournament, and then it would have taken OSU's 1.
  2. Well Oral Roberts won @ KU, and MSU beat Texas. So Im not sure that either of them really on their own without winning 1 good OOC game tell me much. They also lost to a very poor LSU team... I mean outside of Florida, KU does not really have any good wins. And Texas has no good wins outside of the Big 12 I believe. So the real question is, What has the Big 12 done this year to prove that any of their teams are going to be successful? Hype is fun and all, but when your conference doesnt go out and beat other conferences its hard to believe that something is going to change drastically in the tourney.
  3. Lunardi picked Stanford over Louisville. That is one match up I never even considered going well for Stanford.
  4. Yep thats why my brackets have either Lousiville in the Elite 8 or AM. Whoever wins that game in Lexington I feel gets to face OSU eventually.
  5. Yeah so is getting paid to watch basketball games. I love the boss button classy (although I dont really work with spreadsheets still is hilarious)
  6. Problem is that if A&M cant keep it close against a more athletic team that it wont matter what Law cna do in the last few minutes. Ive watched AM play numerous times this season and they have not beaten 1 good team outside of the Big 12. I believe they only have 1 OOC win against a tourney team in Winthrop. Also 4-5 on the road, which is why I feel that if they get past the Ville game that they can make the Elite 8 because they will have basically home games, but I still feel that if ville had played in Big 12 that they would have easily been the 2 team in that conference.
  7. Oh I dont have the Big East beating any good teams. I just feel A&M and the Big 12 are vastly over rated. For Ville to get to the Elite 8m, they would only have to beat A&M and Memphis who might be the most over rated 2 and 3 seeds.
  8. I think in my Soxtalk bracket I have the Ville going to the Elite 8. Most brackets picked them to lose to A&M just because that was the safer play but I really feel that Louisville has been coming on strong.
  9. Yep im in, only used my WI bracket so im either going to triumph with them or go down with the ship.
  10. How long on this board was "Trade Jon Garland" every other topic because he was not even a worthwhile starter. Last I checked Floyd hasnt pitched in 1 meaningful game for the White Sox, so who cares about ST stats? Maybe he will be great, maybe he wont be. But to throw in the towel at this point is crazy.
  11. Well Lunardi is saying something different now because last I heard he said both Purdue and Illinois were in...
  12. Saw it on the El the other day. Do they have food on the Southside?
  13. well s*** cant watch the game but atleast it looks like NU is giving MSU some sort of a test.
  14. Did some one really post that .620 and .690 was not a significant difference in winning percentage? If you add .07 to Javy's win percentage its .550 Which would be better than Garlands win %. Not sure how you disproved my point, cause even an HOF suffered terribly from playing with the Expos.
  15. Yeah because it has nothing to do with 5-15 recrod as a rookie with the Expos. In fact compare another pitcher who has played as many games with the Expos to Javy...
  16. Well if you take out Javy's rookie year with a terrible Expos team where he was 5-15, hed be +5. Did anyone even notice at the same age Javy's pitched 2x as many innings as Lilly?
  17. How is Ted Lilly and Vazquez even a close comparison? Lilly only 2 times has put up a sub 4 era, and 2 season ago had a 5.6 era higher than any year in Javy's career. Ted Lilly has also never pitched over 200 innings in a season, compared to Javy doing it 6 out of 7 years with the only miss being 198 innings. Javy > Lilly Not even a close comparison Id bet that Javy puts up a better era in the AL than Lilly does in the NL.
  18. Love Javy and love this deal. I think that being with the same team, same coaches, and knowing that this is where he is going to play for the next few years will drastically improve his stats. I expect a Count like turnaround now that he finally has found a "Home" after the Expos.
  19. People on a Wisconsin board were talking about Garrett and how Bo missed him. Its odd that he didnt get any real good in-state offers, but most suspect Wisconsin passed because they had Hughes and Bohannon this year, with Jordan Taylor the year after so they went and got 2 bigs and an SG.
  20. I just dont agree. I think that there is an inherent leniency with drinking, driving, and college students/athletes. I went to college, things were how they were and everyone was doing the same things in terms of alcohol. Now that does not make it right of course, but who am I to throw stones. Comparitively I dont believe that anyone can really write off theft as "youthful" stupidity, especially since these guys are older than 18. For comparison's sake, Im sure you can go back and find tons of DUI's and student athletes where they only received slaps on the wrists, etc. But most theft cases like Peter Warrick/Coles, end up in some one being kicked off the team. There is just a line. And this is not just my opinion, well mainly because I know lawyers and judges and well most of them went to college too, so they understand the alcohol culture. But they are not so understanding of blatant criminal activity.
  21. Drunk driving is a statutory offense. Thats what the difference is. You dont know for a fact Jamar was impaired, all we know is that he blew X. Alcohol could have played 0 factor in his car accident, it could have been entirely weather conditions, but that wont matter. They are guilty just by doing the action. Where as with stealing they actually have to have intention and knowledge. If all these 2 players are convicted of is something like "possession of stolen property" and there story is: "Our friend put it in our car we didnt know" then I would agree that its just something stupid and that they should get a second chance. But for some reason the story doesnt really suggest that at all.
  22. I think your mistaken in terms of how the law and most people feel on the situation. Taking other peoples wallets and laptops shows a criminal mind. That they actually wanted to do something that was against the law and wrong, that they purposefully wanted to hurt some one. Do you think Jamar Smith watned anyone to get hurt that night? Do you think he regrets what he did? Those are the differences. I can give some one a chance if they are young and stupid. But when you show a criminal mind, its much harder to write it off as a bad decision.
  23. Is some one seriously comparing a DUI to: One is like a crime ring, the other is a dumbass mistake. Please lets put things in perspsective and not just take a cheap shot at Weber.
  24. Why is my argument weak because of young players? Almost every team has young players, OSU, UNC, etc. The team that they lost to MSU, also has many young playes and they are just starting to come into their own as well. And of course hes gonna quote the Diggler, Phelps hates the Big 10 and loves the Big 12.
