  1. And they almost didnt win fouling. If that play goes down with 3-4 seconds like in regulation AM might score there. Not really sure how that ending proves anything. One time it went AMs way, the other time it went Texas's way. If AM sinks that shot was fouling now a bad decision?
  2. Haha made it close. Should have fouled him much closer to half court.
  3. Well they didnt attempt to foul immediately at all. Thats completely different. If you are just going to foul on the inbound then you grab him as soon as they get it in. They also would have double teamed Law so that they had to go to some one else and then foul him. That is a better play, but not at all what happened.
  4. Im sure as soon as they started to reach in he was going to attempt the shot. Even if he doesnt make it 3 ft's are much better than a desperation three. Those plays usually work much better when they are done in the back court or soon after the inbound, not once they get a few dribbles off.
  5. The problem with fouling is that law might have got a shot at the same time and then hes shooting 3 ft's. Its a rough call, but Id take my chances with him trying to shoot over Durant most days.
  6. Im just saying Indiana won the game at an arena that notoriously has an upset or 2 each year. Maybe not the most impressive win, but at this point winning is winning. And Im not saying NU is that good of a team, just for whatever reason when they play at home they are actually semi-competent.
  7. If there is some sort of behavior clause than yes the contract could be voided. I dont know the specifics of the contract, Im sure its a few pages and quite a few clauses.
  8. Someone doesnt watch a lot of Big 10 basketball. Welsh Ryan can be a really tough place to play for whatever reason. Wisconsin only won by 6, and OSU won by 9. Comparitively at home, OSU beat them by 30+ and Wisconsin won by 17.
  9. I seem to be in the minority, but I expect a pretty poor showing from the Big 12. I honestly can see them not even getting 1 team to the elite 8 depending on the brackets.
  10. Kansas can be in the West and still have their round played in Chicago. If you didnt notice Wisconsin was moved from the Midwest to the South, but still is playing in Chicago. The name of the bracket has nothing to do with where they are actually being played anymore.
  11. Fraud is a very specific legal term. Mathews would have had to take actions to induce the Angels to sign him, and the Angels would have to prove that if not for those inducements they would not have signed him. This is highly unlikely because I just cant see the question: "Oh Mr. Mathews are you taking steriods?" Coming up in a contract negotation. I doubt that the contract is voidable, but I would have to see the contract before I could say that with any sort of certainty. The bottom line is this, Mathews was in a very good position to negotiate the contract as multiple teams were looking at him. It is doubtful that in such a circumstance that the player would take a contract with a bunch of hidden "void" clauses. Also he has an agent/attorney so they were most likely looking for things. Since other players have violated the substance abuse policy before and none have had their contracts voided, it would be hard to imagine that this one is substantially different.
  12. How is it that the "dredge" of the Big 10, beat the 3rd best team in the Big 12? If you want to talk about bad leagues that have not proved anything.... I mean outside of Kansas which Big 12 team has a good win outside the Big 12? Texas has LSU at home. A&M has Auburn and Winthrop. Those are some impressive resumes. (To answer my own question) OklahomaSU has Syracuse and Pitt.
  13. Well on another board I post at they have "total words" and usually my word to post ratio is pretty high relative to others.
  14. I think I have less posts than you. (haha yeah i do) And youve had 2 less years to post than I have. Although im going to claim that a long time ago there was once a board error and I really had thousands of posts, but that we all had to re-register and that it wiped my total. Yeah thats it. Okay maybe not, I go for quality not quantity.
  15. Team B 8 games against top 25 versus 1. ( I also know who both teams are)
  16. Even if they lose against Iowa I think Illinois is in. Compared to a team like Texas, what have they done besides for have a name recognizable player that Illinois hasnt? Illinois RPI 31 SOS 25 Top 50 3-8 Texas RPI 37 SOS 88 Top 50 2-4 Most would say Texas is a lock. Its just unfortuante Illinois plays in a deeper stronger league. Biggest difference is that Illinois has played 11 games against top 50 teams, where as Texas has played 6. Its hard to imagine in those 5 other games that Texas would not have suffered atleast 2 more losses. Also OOC schedule: Illinois 12-3, RPI 32 SOS 52 Texas 10-4, RPI 96 SOS 185 Compared to Illinois that resume is pretty horrific for a "lock".
  17. Yeah Wisconsin without butch is going to go through atleast a few game transition so at this point just need to take 1 game at a time. I really dont know what to expect in the Big 10 tournament, I do not think the home court advantage will be as big for Illinois against Wisconsin as it may for another team (geographically madison is only a 2-2:30 drive from Chicago, which is actually closer than Champaign.) Also badger fans travel well, see the NU game this year. As for the illini, I think they are in regardless of whether or not they beat Wisconsin. I really dont think that they have that good of a chance at beating Wisconsin, especially since the loss of Butch may let them go with a smaller and more explosive line up. Butch's injury really hurts against teams with a dominant C like Oden because he has 3 point range and can force the other team to pull their C out of the middle.
  18. Rough game yesterday, congrats to OSU for winning it in the end. The hardest thing to take is that wisconsin had 2 chances to win it in the last 30 seconds and could not do it. Kam Taylor missed the 1 and 1 which could have put it at 3 and made it so the worst that could happen is OT. Then after the conley layup, they call timeout only to watch as the inbound play goes to Bohannon who hits a 3. The refs were all over the place, I think after Butch went down the game really changed over all. Wisconsin lost its big man advantage and just really could not find their normal offense. The best thing to come out of it was the play of the 2 freshman guards in Bohannon and Hughes. Taylor and Flowers were nonexistant for a good part of the game and if it wasnt for the play of the young guys Wisconsin most likely gets blown out of the place. Its nice to see 4/5 in the polls and still a chance at a 1 seed even after losing 2 games. At this point the biggest question is whether or not Butch will be back for the NCAA tournament (who cares about BTT, might as well give some different guys time to play in pressure situations.) Played bad but some how stayed in the game against one of the best in the nation so you have to take it. Both teams play really tough defense (especially OSU with oden in the middle) so the score is going to be really low.
  19. This is CBS. And sweet they just changed it. Although Ive missed like 3 minutes?
  20. I think the biggest thing about Kansas's lack of playing tough teams is that they are not battling out close games. They are one of the top handful of teams, once you get to that point its basically what style of play you think will be most successful in the tournament. Some people like young talent, others like tested veterans. On another note as of today I think that the following Big 10 teams would be in the tournament: Wisconsin, OSU, MSU, Indiana, Illinois. Depending on how the rest goes Big 10 could get 1 or 2 more of the following: Purdue, Iowa, Michigan. A far cry from the earlier 3 selections it was being given.
  21. This game is like watching the same script from Tuesday. Wisconsin was on fire from 3 to start, then started to go cold in the 2nd half and Neitzel just kept shooting 3s.
  22. Neitzel being completely ineffective is making MSU look horrible.
