  1. Noel Devine wont be comitting today it seems. He has been hyped for years now but seems to have some academic issues/etc.
  2. Kalapse. I went a little bit inactive over the summer because I was really busy. Also since you went inactive I thought Angels only had 1-2 seasons left in them before being destroyed so I some what laxed on trading my players and tried to keep guys like Pujols forever. Well see what happens, much harder to get to the top now than it was. Most of the best players are on a handful of teams.
  3. He Gawn, I agree with that 100%. I thought you meant that it was going to be easier to win at Illinois than at Florida. At Florida he was the fall guy. I really dont think many could have replaced Spurrier and not been fired. Zook will get his chance at Illinois for better or for worse (unless of course he uses his recruiting success to leave for a different HC position). It should be interesting to see what transpires over the next few years in the Big 10.
  4. yeah im also not 100% against restarting. But im fine either way.
  5. 1) What format you prefer playing (head to head or roto) Head 2) Your relative level of experience (experience is not required to play, I'd just rather not put beginners in the stronger leagues) Pretty experience 3) Your league preference (if you have played before) I have been in league 2 for a few years, Id like to try 1 to play with some different people, but im down either way. 4) Whether or not you are willing to be a league commisioner (especially for people that have done it in the past and/or veteran players/posters) Preferably no. but if you really need one just contact me and ask.
  6. If you are going to label an argument "retarded" you should atleast list some reasons why it is such. Atleast in my opinion it should have been easier to win at Florida an established program, versus Illinois.
  7. Christian Laetner? The entire Duke program? Might as well just libel as many people as I want. (Official boilerplate language below) The statements made in this statement or any previous statement are not based on any knowledge or fact. They are entirely made up and therefore can not constitute libel against any of the named or unnamed as they are public figures and this post lacks the required malice. Ha now I can say what I awnt without fear of legal recourse. Jerry Krause?
  8. Dennisca Rodman? But whatever seems like a publicity stunt. It will be timed with the release of a book. Good way to make some money.
  9. Only one of them is named after the mythic Norse God. So im going with him. (Although it may be Odin in mythology, but who cares they werent even using a language close to ours so Ill do what I want.) Not to mention Weds is named after the god Odin, because some how it had a W in it.
  10. Its Dennis Rodman. Shocking, the man already wore a wedding gown in public and the big news is that he will be "bi-sexual." It sounds exactly like the publicity hoax type of s*** Rodman would do.
  11. So A's to NL west or AL East? Sweet? Oh nm i am the AL West (2 years dont change s*** Zoom!)
  12. I think the loss falls on the OC and whoever decided to put Benson in the game for the fumble and then the injury. Colts defense is a pursuit defense, therefore cutback lanes are generally the best weapon. TJ is a cut rb, Benson is not. TJ should have been used exclusively early and they needed to stop that silly running TJ to the wr position. I dont think the Bears have ever thrown to the RB in that sitaution, so your fooling no one. If Turner is fired I wont mind, cause its clear that the offensive game plan is so hit or miss.
  13. Dr, Np. I really respect and like your posts so I hope that you dont take any ill-will from this. I just felt that when this was first discussed that most Illini fans were acting as if it was the craziest idea ever to believe a son would follow his dad. While I felt that part of the reason the Gophers took Brewster as the coach was that there was a wink-nod agreement that his sons would be coming with. Otherwise the hiring is just fascinatingly bland. When the Minnesota job opened names like Tony Dungy were being floated as the replacement (yeah right) but still it shows the calibre of expected coach. Instead they went with a guy with 0 head coaching experience who was in the NFL, with little to no connection to Minnesota. A shocking display like that usually is followed with news of a recruit swapping choices. Atleast thats why I thought what I did. And I dont think its that huge of a loss for Illinois. While Brewster is a quality qb, Juice is young and if Illinois really starts to perform that spot could be filled by a better qb next year.
  14. No I dont believe I said that at all. I never said anything about being an Illini fan must follow all related threads. I said that if you have a problem with what your fellow Illini fans are saying, and if you are going to get upset about some one calling them out, then please make sure that you state your own opinion. From what I have seen though this does not apply to you.
  15. I guess I dont understand why all the Illini fans seem to think they are being unfairly painted? Not one of you took my side. If you dont have the time to stay involved in the thread, dont complain, b****, and moan if your team is not being represented the way that you feel. Illini fans had plenty of time to come in here and say: "You know what I think you are right Soxbadger." But none of you said that, so presumably you were: A) Not reading the thread not involved. B) Reading the thread and in agreement with what was posted by your fellow Illinois fans. Either way I dont see why what I posted was so aggregious. It merely was a question of how could Brewster decommitt when I was told so thoroughly by Illinois fans I was wrong? And I dont keep track of who are Illinois fans, so I didnt even know if Harris was an Illinois fan, went to Illinois, or was just wast trying to argue for no reason about Brewster. In the end so far no one has provided any exculpatory evidence where Illini fans were not counting Brewster as some one who would not decommit. You can look in this thread, you can go to Scout/Rivals, you can go anywhere under the sun. Almost down the line, at the time Brewster was hired, they were saying no way Clint leaves. That Illinois was his dream school and that he would never decomitt. Etc Etc. So if you have a problem with what your fellow Illini are saying on this board, speak up. Otherwise it looks like silent agreement. If a Wisconsin fan was posting something I disagreed with, I would not silently sit here. But then again this looks like some one called in the cavalry.
  16. Have I said you? Thou doth protest too much. Um cheese head? That would mean I was born in Wisconsin and a Packer fan. I was born in Illinois, live in Chicago, and only went to Wisconsin because they had a better football team.
  17. You had a fair opportunity to post prior to this in disagreement with others opposition. If you feel that you are being unfairly painted, perhaps you should have spoke up then. Otherwise I dont see what the beef is. Over 90% of the posts I have seen from Illini fans on Brewster was that there was 0% chance he would switch to Minnesota. If you disagreed with that there was plenty of time to let it be known. As it was I was one of the few that said regardless of the reports in the end my guess is that he would switch.
  18. If it was posted in this thread, feel free. But you seem to be wanting to link from outside boards. That is apples and oranges.
  19. Where am I "making s*** up." If you would like me to link back to where a Soxtalk member posted a link that said "brewster was staying at Illinios" as definitive evidence that it was going to happen, I will. Otherwise your dramatics arent needed here. It was pretty apparent this would happen, and I wasted a good night having to argue about it.
  20. What Brewster decommitted? According to the Soxtalk Illini Brewster would never do that???
  21. I think regardless of what happens in the OSU v Wisconsin game it will be very hard for OSU to get a 1 seed over Wisconsin, barrring some bad losses by Wisconsin between now and the selection. I believe the Big 10 tournament's final game is usually after the selections are made, so assuming that both Wisconsin and OSU are in the final game, and they have split home/away, it will be hard to give OSU the nod. The reason for this is Wisconsin has beaten Pitt and Marquette, where as OSU does not have any top 10 wins. There also is a chance they both get 1's depending on how everything plays out.
  22. Technically I should probably not be on Soxtalk. But on the other hand I might find an answer Im looking for here. It hasnt happened yet, but if I didnt try how would I know.
  23. Well im in last place in the only category that I have ever been nominated. But what I know is true is that I am first in the peoples hearts.
