Rock, I advise anyone that asks me not to bring anything on an airplane. The risk versus reward is just to great. If you really are hell bent on getting your contraband to a location there are far better ways than trying to on a commercial airline. Your at a location with heightend security where you may be for an undetermined amount of time. There really is no way to escape or to destroy the evidence if you are in a bind. Also because its an airport, your expectation of privacy drops to almost nill, so even with a great lawyer its gonna be hard to fight. Its especially inexcusable for a player like Vick who has millions and as you said can easily charter a plane.
-
In other news the Prosecutor in the Balco case has been asked to step down. It doesnt mean that it is over, but it does mean that the Prosecutor did something to tick some one really important off.
-
If you have money like Vick cant you just pay some one to drive your stash to your selected destination? God damn. On the other hand atleast he was using some sort of contraption to get it on board. Not to mention it could not have been to much, my guess is between 3.5 grams (1/8) and 7 grams (1/4). Not sure you could really fit more into a 20oz water bottle, which even makes it more stupid. I mean how hard would it be for Vick to find an 1/8 anywhere he travels?

Not the size of your post count but the way you use it.

Its not a debate. It just seems like you feel there is absolutely no way that Brewster would leave Illinois. I believe that a big part of the reason he chose Illinois was that his father was an alumni there, and now the same kid is being asked whether he wants to play against his father or play for him. It could happen, it could not. Either way right now Brewster is being regarded as one of the best recruiters in the nation. Thats not a good for Wisconsin because a down Minnesota means an easier time recruiting.
-
For comparison since you pointed to haig and weber: Scout: Pos: QB Pos Rank: #78 Haig Pos Rank: #32 Weber Pos: QB Pos Rank: #24 Bewster Rivals Pro Style QB's Brewster is 15 Haig 26 Pretty significant difference in talent between Brewster. But I have no inside information, just saying it would be hard for me in his situation. As a Wisconsin fan I dont really care where they go. In fact at Illinois there is a better chance Brewster never hits the field.
-
Haig is only a 2 star on other sites, sorry.
-
Bench him for who? Its not a situation with any other QB. Minnesota has nothing there to compete with. At this point it really cant get much worse for Minnesota, Brewster would be there top recruit by a significant margin. He is not even close to Illinois best recruit, nor is he line for playing time. Not to mention it is questionable how a pocket passing qb fits into the mold a Zook qb like Leak or Juice? Its not a good situation no matter what. Lets say that Minnesota beats Illinois, or that Minnesota gets a good recruit etc. Wont the Illinois fans be on Clint? Lets say he losses against Minnesota, wont there be questions? Its lose lose, but if it was my choice, I would chose helping my dad in his first head coaching job. I would be almost immediately his best player, and best chance at turning around the program. But thats just me. (Minnesota does have 2 other 3 star qb's in Carlson and Weber)
-
I already read that article. I dont think a decision like this is so easy that you can call a kid the night of the news breaking and ask: "Are you sure your going to school A?" Especially when he realizes Minnesota has no QB depth compared to having to sit behind Juice for 2-3 years?

http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sp...-home-headlines According to a Wisconsin site he is the father of the Illinois recruit, http://illinois.rivals.com/viewprospect.as...mp;pr_key=50004 Now Im not sure that this is true, but if it is I have to believe that the son will now be a Gopher.

All 3 of the teams have basically the same formula, each team just uses the backs differently. Big Back: Duece, Benson, Dillon Flex Back: Maroney, Jones, Bush The only difference is that the Bears have a younger big back and an older fast back. If Jones was younger you would see him catching more passes, and doing more things to warrant his 40mil contract. Because Benson is the higher paid player the Bears are not going to tailor their offense to Jones like the Saints are doing with BUsh, and they are not grooming him like the Pats are doing with Maroney. At this stage in all of their respective careers you have to put the Saints/Bears tandem at the top, with Pats behind because Dillon is already at the stage where RB's start to decline. Of the Saints and Bears I think that the Bears RB's are better right now as both of them are still in their "prime" where as Bush is a rookie. Stats aside I believe that this year the Bears have the best tandem, Bush will really improve by next year so things may change. But at this point in his career he will make some bad decisions based on his overall athleticism. Im not so sure that if the Saints are in a passing down that I would be 100% confident in Bush pass protecting.

AP is in love with the Badgers compared to the Coaches poll. Highest ranking for the Badgers all time, the question is can they get 1 this year so that no other team can be the first Wisconsin team rated 1? -

I doubt they play that way against the rest of the Big 10. They came out flat against a terrible team, it happens all the time. You act like they have not beaten good teams already. If they were playing against a different team they would have played completely differently. They would not have just let the clock run down and know that they would be able to turn it on in the end. Its just 1 game, they played a slow style of game and won. They played a fast style against OSU and won. -

I dont even like the talk about Tucker being an All American. I care about Wisconsin being the best team, not 1 player being the best player. -

Why should Wisconsin be ashamed of their performance? They played like garbage against a team that they have notoriously choked against and came out with a win. The biggest problem I saw was that Bo was adamant on bounce passes into the paint, when Wisconsin probably should have gone over the top with lobs to the big men. They also seemed in no hurry to put the game away and didnt even start to drive until late in the second half. Im not exactly sure why style points count. I would rather that they get wins having to make free throws and play clutch down the stretch then just blow a team out. They have already beaten OSU, Pitt, Marquette, so a win is a win at this point. -

The problem is Oden is clearly not 100% in shape. Last night Wisconsin pushed its biggest lead when they were attacking OSU in transition and beating Oden to the basket. He would still be outside of the 3 point arc trying to get back on defense while Wisconsin would penetrate. The difference last night compared to Florida and UNC, is that Wisconsin is happy running out clock and making the game come down to set plays. This benefited Oden because he was not forced to run up and down the court, so he was able to get rest and become more effective down the stretch. I think right now Oden can be effective for 20 minutes if hes forced to run and in an up tempo game, and for 30 minutes if the game is slowed and has more half court sets. By the end of the season I expect he will be full strength, so really this will benefit OSU because it will force them to get better in the offensive half court. OSU has lost to what the 1,2,3 teams in the nation. They are young and all of those experiences are going to make it so that when the tournament comes around they will have played in enough pressure situations to win big games. Its not like they are losing games they are supposed to win, they destroyed Illinois. -

Was a good game, Wisconsin needs to hit more ft's at the end of the game but outside of that they played really well. It seemed that Oden still is not 100% in shape, at times he seemed tired and Wisconsin was effective running and penatrating before Oden could get back. With 2 more potential match ups it will be interesting to see what changes. I really like OSU as a team and think that they are capable of beating anyone. Today they just played against a more experienced team on the road. Great effort. Landry was outstanding, Bo got a little carried away matching him on Oden. Badgers mainly stayed with their normal offense, Taylor was hot so it made the game much easier otherwise Wisconsin could have really struggled and had to get more creative. Should be a good season for both teams. -

They play some games at a neutral site too. Dont slander the Duke program. By god they just may sue you for defamation. -

Well Rock the only way you can appreciate those pretty boys at Duke is with HD. Scheyer, McRoberts, and Paulus, looks dont get the justice they deserve on the regular tv format. And how would I know if all of Coach K's hair is in perfect condition unless I have the high quality 1080p tv? -

Yeah ESPN has never brought the HD cameras to the Kohl Center this season, not even for the Pitt game. -

Actually I disagree. I think that OSU had a better team and that if OSU played OSU football that they would of won the game. OSU let Florida dictate the style of play on both offense and defense. OSU wanted to show its speed so it lined up in empty set shotgun time and time again. This formation is perhaps the worst formation to play against a speed team as it leaves the QB alone behind the line and makes the d-line not even have to respect the run. The entire game the Florida defense played pass rush on the d-line. How did OSU let that happen? How did the team with 2 RB's who would have started for Florida not make the game dependent on the run? My belief is that it was pride. Tressel had heard enough about SEC speed and wanted to prove that OSU not only was better, but was faster. The problem was, is that once you get behind in football, especially more than 1 score, your options become very restricted. OSU had to leave the run game and that further played into Florida's hands, making the game even more lopsided. On the defensive side it was as if OSU had never even watched Leak play. Instead of jamming the dbs and forcing Leak to make deep over the top throws, OSU played a soft zone. This led to the remarkable 8-8 start by Leak in which he had to make almost no difficult throws, most of them being 5 yards or less. Then to add to the problem, by playing dbs back and not jamming at the line Florida was able to run swing passes to Harvey and other players where they had 3-4 yards to before any OSU player was in the area. Once Ginn went down, OSU needed to recognize that the passing game was going to be deficient and try and use time of possession and their running game to control the tempo. Meyer called a better game and played to his team strengths. OSU let that happen and never could recover. -

So far this season Wisconsin has not been in HD on ESPN. I have to believe this game will be in HD. I know that beating OSU is not all about Oden, but at the same time he is the player who presents the biggest miss match for Wisconsin. Butch is a nice big man, but he is not Oden. Wisconsin is used to having a big edge with their size and Oden might be able to negate it. Cook, Conely, Lewis are all good players, but none of them are as dynamic or as rare as Oden. Wisconsin has played good forwards and guards before, but this will be their first test against a team with big time Center. It should be interesting to see what rotation Ryan uses and how guys like Landry, Krabbehnhoft, and Hughes are going to fit into the over all scheme. Also if OSU plays zone you may see Bohannon as the Badgers do not have any other real pure shooters. (although Taylor is shooting pretty high from beyond the arc, he is pretty streaky.) Should be a good game as both teams are very deep. -

OSU v Wisconsin tonight. The first match up between the 2 favorites for the Big 10 title (and perhaps a 1 seed). Tonights game is almost a must win for Wisconsin as you have to keep home court and they are not going to want to go to Columbus already having lost at the Kohl Center. I expect that the Badgers will try and drive and post getting Oden in foul trouble early. It should be interesting because Wisconsin's offense is dependent on the post game, but unlike many teams Wisconsin posts guards too. So I would expect that whoever is being guarded by Oden, my guess is Butch, will play out around the arc and then the Badgers will post Tucker and other guys. If Oden goes to the paint it Butch will shoot the 3 if hes open, so if he has a great game like against Pitt he could be really successful. It should be a close match but I will say that Wisconsin will win by 5. -

Watching the game last night I dont know what the hell OSU was thinking. Their defense must have watched the Bengals play the Colts because Ive never seen DB's play so far off and watch as Florida ran every play in front of them. As for the offense they decided that they wanted to prove they could be an SEC team with 5 WR's even after Ginn went down. Now Im gonna have to hear about the SEC for another year, when this loss was 100% Tressel. Not sure what he was thinking, but some times you just have a really bad day.
