Sox should not lose. Prior is not all full strength and has a glaring weakness that they need to exploit. In the end, hes just another pitcher, and good hitters can hit good pitchers. They just need to take what Prior gives them. SB
-
Be patient, make Prior throw a lot of pitches and hopefully the Cubs have to pull him in the 5th or 6th. Then take advantage of the Cubs weakend bullpen. Sox need to try and get him at 20 pitches per inning or so, and the Cubs will have to pull him early. SB

In my eyes the optimal draft was Deng and Gordon, I thought they would pick Deng first, but after looking at a few mocks it was apparent people had Deng slipping. I thought they might consider Livingston if he went to 7, or any other freak occurrence Okafor to 3. But overall if they sign a front court guy, they could be looking at a team that could begin to compete. SB
-
I prefer the Deng pick, I originally thought they would take him at 3, but the trade suggested they felt he could slip to them. Only time will tell, but I think Deng will be a solid starter for a long time. SB
-
Its either Iggy or Deng. This was probably the scenario they hoped for. SB

And Sabathia is just flat out good. So every game he starts Cleveland has a legitimate shot of winning. Therefore we had 2 games, we lost 1, won 1. Its really nice to have a guy you can count on to go out there and shut the door on any offense. SB

And your crazy if you think that T-Mac couldnt be persuaded to be a Bull. If they traded for T-Mac they would clearly be sending a message, and probably spend some money in free agency. Also, back when T-Mac shunned the Bulls it was to play for his home town team, and with Grant Hill. He does not have that option anymore, but I think playing in Chicago where he could become a media darling like Jordan may have a little sway. SB

Bulls trade Chandler and 7th pick

I looked around and this seems to be more of a rumor than a for sure thing, I hope. SB -
Berkmans a free agent next year, so we could have him for plain old money next year. SB
-
Dream scenario would be: Mulder, Loaiza, Buerhle, Pavano, Garland 2 lefties, 3 solid righties who can go deep and keep you in games, and finally 1 ace who you can put out there and expect to hold the team down regardless of what you do. SB
-
$6-7mil over 3 years is what I would offer Loaiza. Half the price of Colon and probably provide us the same type of innings and consistency. SB

We have to stop giving up on our players so fast. Its as if everyone expects a minor league player to come in and be the best player at his position. Cotts has done an okay job, he needs to do a much much better job of not allowing home runs when hes ahead in the count. It seems like a problem other Sox pitchers are having as well. SB

For some reason I always thought it was common for many LHP to wear their hats crooked. No matter how CC wears his hat, I think id take him on my team anyday. SB

I believe he missed the playoff game, which they lost. Other than that he played the whole season. Sb

What kind of ratio are we looking at this weekend?
Soxbadger replied to BigNDfan80's topic in Pale Hose Talk
70-30 Sox fans. Thats the hope, it really depends on who went and bought the tickets from brokers. SB -
I believe Shingo's wife speaks english, so this is probably not his first encounter with it. Add to that he seems to be very professional, so he is probably trying his hardest to adapt as quickly as possible. SB
-
Ill be sitting there on saturday. Not my first choice, but tickets are tickets, and the UD is not really that bad, in fact I think most of it has pretty good views of the field. SB
-
Possibly but i prefer to see Gload playing than Timo, so right now Rowand is our best outfielder while Maggs is gone. SB
-
Harris plays better when hes playing consistently, in the last 6 games hes only had 12 ab's meaning he played in only about 50% of the games. Perez is a good pinch hitter, but otherwise he does nothing for the Sox. Often times it seems like he cant get to balls that should be caught, and his bat isnt all that great. Hes a good guy to have around to pinch hit and give guys a rest, but with Maggs gone, Harris, Uribe, and Rowand should start almost every day, until one of them proves they shouldnt be. SB

League #2 official thread

Countered, Im at player limit so a trade would have to be 1 for 1, 2 for 2, etc. SB -

If you want to discuss something, send me an offer. I have 8 starting pitchers ranked under 200. I like pitching but I like trading too. SB -
Espn says that it is on espn. And when I bought my tickets they told me to make sure I realized it was a 7:00 start and not 7:05, which is an indication of ESPN televising. ::shrugs:: SB

If Munoz was to fail, and Williams felt that we could not acquire another starter for a while, the Adkins for Rusch deal would be intriguing. As for Cotts for Rusch, Id rather keep Cotts, as Rusch isnt a long term solution. SB

I dont want Jennings or Armas either, but I think that we have to be selective in what we trade. We are not talking about the type of players we gave in the Alomar or Everett trades, these are some of the best prospects that we have, and the Mariners may be expecting 2 of them. I know that we need a win at all costs attitude, but if we are going to overpay, and risk losing a potential impact player, then lets go for something more. I mean we might as well overpay for something that is going to be dominant. Garcia is good, but he was almost nontendered last year, and now we are talking as if he is the answer to our world series quest. If we trade for him, he implodes, then we dont resign him. We are left with a whole in our system, and some draft picks. The trade has to fit us, not the other way around. We are the team competing, the Mariners are the team trying not to be left with a free agent they cant sign. SB (I went to Wisconsin when I first started to posting, I graduated so I live back in Chicago)
-
I hope he does not panic. If the Yanks grab Garcia, he just needs to stay course and keep trying to make the deals that he wants to make. You think Mariners fans want Navarro and Cash for Garcia, when they can get some of our prospects? We have good prospects who a team will trade for a pitcher, it may not be Garcia, but you never know who will become available. SB
