There is a fan of every team that wishes injuries on another team, therefore karma would always cancel out, because the only way a team could have good karma would be if none of their fans ever wanted bad things to happen to another team. Its just an injury, players get injured. Hopefully he comes back sooner than later, although any significant time he misses will decrease his value on the market. SB

I like to place blame where its deserved, but Koch wasnt that bad. The hardest hit he gave up was to Byrnes, Durazo and Hatteberg could of easily been outs. Wasnt the worst, wasnt the best. But he got us out of the inning without losing, so he recovered. SB

Hello Patterson is the greatest CF in the world and a 5+ tool player. What does the + stand for? Hes a Cubs player so he has to be extra good, like Bobby Hill. SB

Actually I brought my broken bat to the game to throw at any Cubs players that come by. SB

The A's have been good since the arrival of the Big 3. If they start to slump with out Chavez, the fact they are going to have to resign Mulder and or Hudson, will hang over their head and force them to trade one of them before the deadline. The A's could potentially lose both, and even with the depth at pitching in the minors, they would have big problems for next year and beyond, especially with how handcuffed they are for salary. We will see how good Beane is when he doesnt have 3 outstanding under paid pitchers. SB

And people were saying Harris wasnt going to be an every day player. He just needed some time to get comfortable and learn to utilize his speed. May not be the best 2b ever, but I think hell consistently hit over .280 with nice speed, and a good glove. SB

I concur, as watching it on espn's website can be annoying and slow. SB

I was debating all morning whether or not to start Willis against the Reds, right now Im glad I chose to. I really like Willis, I think he has a good attitude and brings a lot of emotion and intensity in a good way to the game. Also it burns Cubs fans every time he does well, so thats an added bonus. SB

Chicago White Sox @ Oakland Athletics Game Thread

Chavez just made a good play on Willie, looked like he was playing in front of third expecting the bunt. Harris is not looking bad against a lefty. SB -
People say that, but it depends on who you get in the deal. Williams trades for a big time pitcher, the White Sox get to the playoffs this year, and sign and improve in the offseason, people are saying "Maggs who" The Sox trade Maggs, fail miserably, "I was never a fan after the Maggs trade" People are monday morning quarterbacks, who want results. Maggs is not going out of is way to say how much he loves the Sox and how bad he wants to be here. If he was saying that, then I would feel slighted if the Sox did not bring him back. From all indications, Maggs is interested in leaving and hitting the jackpot. SB

Borchard could not fill Perez's role because he would have to sit to much. Perez was a utility outfielder, to provide us a little speed and a left handed bat, who we could afford to sit as much as necessary. Ginter has done okay in the NL so far. He might blow up tomorrow, and we had replacements for Ginter, just none of them have turned out. But the reality is, in the Sox's eyes, Ginter was not going to turn out either. SB

They talked about in Baseball Tonight last night, both Kruk and Reynolds were saying how this was such a great move, and that it should be the team that votes, because Rauch let his team down. They of course said if he was throwing 98 the team would of probably cut him some slack, but I tend to agree that leaving it to the team is the best scenario. That way the team feels that they are responsible to each other, and that they will be self policed, as opposed to having this ominous presence above them. SB

I didnt think it would get him to buy the team. I just think it would be funny and he might get a laugh out of it. Kind of like a sign of respect and that we the fans care when an owner actually listens. SB
-
Even if we finish dead last it will give us more publicity on ESPN. And they are going to have to show us rocking the Rangers. Its nice to just get some recognition, but I would rather they comment on how good our starters have looked. SB
-
The Cuban buying the Sox would be a really good one, but only some of us would get the real joke, maybe send him an email to watch the game a certain night, and if a few people brought the sign it might get on. SB

Im not mad about anything, in a perfect world wed have a Steinbrenner or Cuban, but not every owner is like that. I wish hed up the payroll so we were atleast always in the top 50% (I think thats reasonable), and I think people would show up more often. He can some times appear cheap, but hes been burned by bad contracts like Navarro too. In the end most are just looking for something to complain about, its nice to think what if, but if I had the money Id have season tickets, and show up every day. SB

I think 20,000 "Trade for another starter" signs, would be as convincing or more convincing than any amount of mocking or parody could accomplish. Thats just my opinion, not all are as worried about negative criticism as Cuban. Reisndorf has faced worse, and generally not changed his mind because of it. SB

Against Houston he gave up 8 hits over 5.2 innings. 2 runs, only 1 earned. Against Coloroda, he gave up 7 hits over 5 innings, and 5 earned runs. Hes had 1 good outing against Philly, the outing against Houston could of been a disaster. Also this is the NL. SB

Happy Birthday big man. Your still my favorite player, and although I traded you from my fantasy team, ever since then you have been on a tear, so I will take that deal any day of the week. If I was in any way cursing you by having you as a player, Im sorry. hehe SB

5/26 White Sox vs. Rangers Game Thread
Soxbadger replied to hammerhead johnson's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Shingo is just a slower pitching Foulke, with more deception. That being said, if he performs well in a few more situations, maybe with a little more pressure, I would not mind seeing him as our closer. Some players just seem to get up for the big moments, and you could see Shingo enjoyed closing the game. If you put yourself in a save situation, you can not get a save. Thats why Shingo didnt get it. SB -
Screw you Texiera! I benched him on my fantasy team because usually they dont even start him versus leftys. Bah, backstabber. SB

For a starter to have such an era 5 with a 1 whip, would be a very bizzare set of results. I would say that I doubt it would continue, and that over the long term I would prefer a starter that had a very low whip, and had a year with a high era, than a starter with a very high whip with low era. The first would suggest bad luck, the later would suggest good luck. If you are giving up less hits and walks, more times than not you will give up less runs. Unless you just have some major problem giving up hits in a row, or being ineffective with men on. Whatever it is, it would be a very wild circumstance. Generally if you have around a 1 whip your giving up less than 4 runs. SB

For all those fancy numbers, when Valentin was coming back from the DL, I said that Harris would eventually have to play some CF to get him more at bats. You can just see in Harris and Uribe, they are finally putting their talent to use. SB
-
Im a whip man myself, I think if you have a low whip, your era is bound to stay low, considering era is just the end result of walks and hits. But to each their own. SB

He has been great, his stuff speaks for itself. SB
