QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Dec 3, 2017 -> 09:05 AM) I agree. What republicans should do is think if Hillary won the election and her administration was caught in the exact same thing, would they doubt a cover up? Would they dismiss all of the lies? Would they not be calling her a criminal every chance they had? If there is nothing, why all of the lies? Why all of the omissions on security clearance forms? They certainly don't act like innocent people. There clearly is something there. I cant believe that they are letting Trump trash the FBI and the rest of our intelligence community without any blow back. Somehow kneeling during the national anthem is heretical, but trashing people who dedicate their life to stopping crime is totally cool.

Think that game could have gone either way, both teams left a lot of plays on the field. Tough to get that close and lose, but still get a good bowl game and hopefully proved that they were a team worthy of being considered for the playoff. Going to be fun to see what the committee does, but hard to imagine OSU being kept out. -
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 2, 2017 -> 08:42 PM) Hope he enjoys his vacation. They are going to argue its not illegal. If you look around, Trump's base is already of the opinion there is nothing wrong with Trump's people trying to undermine Obama while Obama was still in office.

The biggest issue for Wisconsin is that they sometimes just dont play safe against the deep ball. I actually think 2 wrs were wide open there. Pretty much as bad of a start as possible. Instead of scoring give up a big play td. -

Barrett isnt right, Not sure what they are trying to prove there, but feel bad for how he got injured last week. -
Wonder when the Trump meltdown at Sessions begins. Its all speculation, but if they are working with Flynn they must believe there is someone higher up on the food chain.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Nov 30, 2017 -> 06:59 PM) I had overlooked that this tax bill would greatly reduce the S-corporation tax rate from 39.6 to 25%. Now that's an idea I can support for small businesses. ***runs and ducks from angry liberal SoxTalk mob*** Im not an accountant but I thought the main benefit of S-Corp was that it was a pass through entity. I tried to look this up but Im not really sure its impact unless you were talking about it lowers the highest tax bracket on S-Corp income.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 30, 2017 -> 04:18 PM) Have you ever gone to an accountant? Mine is just magic I think. I got a larger return than my accountant did on a similar tax return using a mid range price turbo tax. Its just generally how aggressive do you want to be with deductions when taking into the potential for audit.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Nov 29, 2017 -> 04:26 PM) You don't need a button at your desk in order to be able to close or lock a door. Its a convenience. If youre in a meeting and you want to close the door its easier than 1) getting up to lock it or 2) asking the other person to do it. Most people dont have this stuff, but I dont think its that odd for someone who likely was making millions a year.

QUOTE (Sox-35th @ Nov 28, 2017 -> 04:18 PM) I'm not sure how you can look at the LA Rams and honestly say that. Eh. Belicheck was a DC and his team has been one of the best offensively for years. Mora (DC) was the HC when Manning came into the league. Kevin Gillbride (OC) was Leaf's HC. Its more important to find the best HC, irrespective of whether they are offensive or defensive.
-
QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Nov 28, 2017 -> 03:54 PM) To be honest, this shouldn't surprise us. If we are hiring someone, given we invested in a QB, we should be hiring the person we think is going to maximize Trubisky and that inevitably will be an offensive mind. I dont think the HC matters that much. If anything it may be better to have a HC that isnt as involved in the offense and have an OC who is very established. Too many times HC's who are also OC's can lose focus.

Sounds like other people took the "Pocahontas" remark as an insult: https://thinkprogress.org/why-eric-trumps-p...r-fd17de86b6e4/ These are from Dr. John Norwood, general secretary of the Alliance of Colonial Era Tribes: I guess some on this board might find this "silly."
-
QUOTE (raBBit @ Nov 27, 2017 -> 10:02 PM) This is all your opinion. I don't take Warren's behaviors or Trump calling her Pocahontas and apply that to all Native Americans. I look at all individuals as individuals. You'd have to be pretty silly to judge an entire group of people by one person who is not even among them. You can call me silly or whatever you want but he is using the phrase as a negative towards her. That implication makes the term Pocahontas look like an insult. Everything here is opinion. If you dont think Trump is calling her Pocahontas as an insult, thats your opinion. If you think that he is using the phrase glowingly and as praise for Warren, that is also your opinion. I think most reasonable people would have a similar opinion as me, but its all just opinion. And I think the bottom line is that we shouldnt have a President who is acting in a way that in other people's opinion they are being overtly racist. But that is just my opinion.
-
QUOTE (CrimsonWeltall @ Nov 27, 2017 -> 05:52 PM) When was it established that Warren lied? Her anecdotal story cant be proven or disproven.
-
QUOTE (raBBit @ Nov 27, 2017 -> 05:22 PM) Pocohantas is probably the most know Native American to all US citizens because of a Disney movie. Trump calling Warren Pocohantas whenever her swindling was exposed was totally fair, in no way racist and even had comedic value. Trump's actions today were embarrassing and childish. There's a distinction. I dont think it was ever appropriate to call Warren "Pocahontas." Call Warren a liar, call her a scammer, call her a swindler, but why in the world is it appropriate to tarnish Pocahontas and Native Americans in the process? The reason it is bad is because it is making Pocahontas and by extension Native Americans, seem like swindlers/liars/cheats, which is a negative Native American stereotype. Not to mention it makes it seem like they are all the same.

QUOTE (Quin @ Nov 27, 2017 -> 02:59 PM) MPJ's handle is what worries me. I figured we'd see it develop in college, but with the injury I'm not so sure anymore. It's also not so much a dig at him, so much as the absurdity of the top of this class. Yeah with Bagley and Ayton playing at such a high level it will be hard to pass on them. -

QUOTE (2005thxfrthmmrs @ Nov 27, 2017 -> 10:35 AM) I hope he's a more well rounded player than Amar'e. In a top loaded draft like this, I would expect a franchise changing player with the first pick. Bagley has a better shot and is more fluid with the ball than Stoudemire. -
QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ Nov 22, 2017 -> 02:36 AM) When the trailer came out, I was SO beyond excited. Then as the early reviews and nuggets came out suggesting it's just a "Fine, here's some campaign missions" type storyline, I lost all interest. I would cream my jeans for an open world Star Wars experience. Maybe this can become a thing when the new triology of Star Wars movies begin, and there is more leeway to make up new stories and characters? Star Wars has a MMORPG on computer, Star Wars the Old Republic. It was a pretty good game, but EA just completely neglected it. They really just need a new developer besides for EA.

I just want them to play 1 on 1 in basketball to solve this crisis.

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Nov 21, 2017 -> 06:41 PM) Kindle Unlimited is what you're looking for I believe. On ankther note, i think the 2 pieces of Nintendo hardware are going to be the hottest 2 times this Christmas, but going to be tough to get. If you guys want Switch or any other system, I suggest using this website: http://www.nowinstock.net/videogaming/cons...nintendoswitch/ For example right now switch is in stock at a bunch of places.

QUOTE (Quin @ Nov 21, 2017 -> 01:29 PM) f***. We we're finally gonna be good for the first time since my freshman year. My guess is he stays a year now. If he is a top 5 pick he has to enter draft right away. Too much risk for not enough gain. -
QUOTE (Iwritecode @ Nov 21, 2017 -> 01:10 PM) Ball is doing this solely to keep his name in the media and to promote his company and his shoe line or whatever. Trump is gullible enough to fall for it and feeding into it. Its probably good pr for both of them. Trump's base likely loves this stuff and I doubt that many of Ball's potential customers are going to side with Trump.

Not sure if this is the best place for it, but DOJ has sued to stop ATT/Time Warner merger. Makan Delrahim, head of DOJ antitrust division, was a lobbyist for Comcast. Comcast previously acquired NBC Universal in a similar deal. Will be interesting to see why it was okay then, but bad now.

QUOTE (Reddy @ Nov 16, 2017 -> 05:31 PM) The photographer apparently refutes Tweeden's story, saying she was "playing dead" and that the photo was staged - that Franken was supposed to be "trying to revive her". Do you have a link for that? My first impression of the photo was that it was a gag. It reminded me of a sleepover where people took embarrassing photos of the first person to pass out. I started to think about how some of those actions would be perceived in today's society.

QUOTE (Reddy @ Nov 16, 2017 -> 04:17 PM) Everything is awful. 200,000 gallons. Ya know... exactly what everyone said would happen. But now I can legally bring back elephant tusks to the US. Gotta have my priorities.
