  1. QUOTE (knightni @ Oct 25, 2008 -> 05:23 PM) Yeah. Let's trade Swish while he's at his lowest value point. If Swish 2009 season is a repeat of 2008, his value will be so low you will not be able to give him away. I am not saying that will happen, but the risk is there. Who knows? Management may be willing to get 70 cents on the dollar for Swish and just move on.
  2. I would like to join... 1) I been playing in a pay league for the past 8 years. 2) head to head. 3) First Time with Soxtalk 4) I could commish if I must but I'd prefer not to.
  3. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Jul 7, 2007 -> 12:17 AM) He appears to be using more of his lower body now compared to spring training, as well. Any idea of Floyd's velocity? CSN doesn't have their radar gun working. MLB gameday has Floyd hitting 95 with his fastball and 79 with his offspeed.
  4. This is great. I am coming into town on that Sunday for a conference. I have to be at the conference from noon till 4:00, so I didn’t think I could see a game while I’m in town. Now I just need to get some tickets.
  5. QUOTE(southsideirish @ Jan 8, 2006 -> 11:03 PM) Sirius is a better buy. More total sports plus Howard Stern. XM only has one thing going for it, MLB, that is it. If you want to listen to Stern, get Sirius. If you want to listen to the Sox or real baseball coverage (not just east coast) get XM.
  6. QUOTE(whitesoxmanager @ Jan 7, 2006 -> 01:12 AM) So did anyone get to hear the KW interview on XM Satellite Radio MLB 175? For those of you who are out of market like myself I would highly recommend getting it. Complete coverage pre & post game. + all the offseason. + all season games. Yes. I received XM for and it is great. Being out east, I never get to listen to the radio about what KW, Ozzie or and Sox news. I only read about what going on or interviews in Soxtalk or from the paper, (the paper never gives you the whole store). Hearing KW today on XM was great and makes me feel that we have one of the best GM in the game. XM is outstanding; I listened to three different segments about how great the Sox are going to be this year.
  7. QUOTE(RME JICO @ Jan 4, 2006 -> 12:18 AM) Almost identical, just pick a half: Pre All-Star 6 HR, 38 RBI Post Al-Star 10 HR, 33 RBI The only difference is where they bat in the lineup. The difference was in the defense. It was fun watching Uribe in the field. You can’t say that for Tejada. Not only would Tejada take money away to help resign Buehrle. It would also take money that could help, for what little shot we have, to sign Joe Crede.
  8. Just got home from the game. Great game, Great seats, Great team to watch . 4 Sox’s game attended this year 4 Wins. 1 more game next Sunday when I'm back to see my family.
  9. I have tickets for Saturday (12th row behind home plate) and Sunday (1st row upper deck). I am trying to score 2nd row behind the Sox dugout for Friday’s game from a friend of a friend.
  10. Was the “Player to be named later” announced yet from the Milwaukee trade? If so, whom did the Sox get? If not, I think I heard before that there is a deadline on how long until a team picks the player to be named later. If this is true, does anyone know how long that is?
  11. QUOTE(TLAK @ Jan 29, 2005 -> 01:28 PM) Why? so the owners can just stuff all the profits in their own pockets? In '04 Forbes shows team revenues of $3,870,000,000. USA today salaries total $2,071,265,943. That's 54% of the gross. Doesn't sound outrageous to me. Its an entertainment industry, the players ARE the product, after all we don't pay our money to watch Jerry Reinsdorf play do we? 1. The players aren’t the only salaries / expenses teams have to pay out. 2. Not all teams make the money New York and Boston make. 3. Look at these teams Baltimore and Arizona. · Baltimore has a new team in its back yard and attendance has been dropping for the past couple years. Tried to sign player but would not give crazy contracts away. Lost out on 3-4 players who signed for over a 1 mil more then they were willing to pay. Fans in Baltimore are blaming they’re owner for not paying/ offering more money. · Arizona has had the attendance drop for the past couple years. To try and get it back had to sign some big name players. What do they do? Give crazy contracts ($$$) just to get players signed. 80% of the teams can’t afford a team budget of 80 million, but it is OK for 20% of the teams to spend over 110 million. Take 10 lowest salary teams and have them play the 10 highest salary teams and you call that entertainment. I don’t.
  12. I like it, it helps us out of town folks. You also are faster then Gamecast.
  13. I'm trying to talk my wife into the Dish so I could get WGN.
  14. Dam Comcast Cable wont bring on WGN. I only see games when their on ESPN.
  15. I thank everyone for the updates. It is great for us out of towners that cant watch the game...
  16. It is great to see the Sox come back. I just want to thank all you for the updates in these post. I'm sitting in a hotel in India and this is the only why to see what how my beloved SOX are doing.
  17. This was in the Daily South Town http://www.dailysouthtown.com/southtown/ds.../pro/121sd3.htm Wunsch isn't the only player who isn't drawing much interest on the trade market. According to Williams, teams just aren't looking to pull the trigger on a deal this early in the season. "There are not very many clubs that feel comfortable enough with their position to want to be aggressively pursuing deals at this point," Williams said. "Generally, it takes a couple of months into the season for people to feel comfortable enough to start playing with their roster." Not Williams, however. "We're always in that mode that if something makes sense for us, it doesn't matter if it's April, May, June or July, we're going to try to make it happen," he said. "I see a lot of potential in this club as it stands right now. I am thinking along the lines of being ultra-aggressive right now, more than anything. Then again, some things have to play out with other clubs — falling out of contention. It's May. It's not even mid-May yet. A lot of that stuff is going to have to play out before another club would have to be serious."
  18. I'll be there. I don't know what seats I have yet. Someone at work is getting the tickets. I also have tickets for Monday and Wednesday games. Hope to see you there...
  19. Now that their in Baltimore they put them on ESPN. Cant ESPN pick them up in Chicago so I could see some games? Camden Yards is a good park. I go every year when the SOX are in town. POTUSChris sorry to here you won't be making it down I think the O's are starting to lose their momentum. They are losing again to Cleveland 2 - 1 in the 8th. But Rick White is in for Cleveland and that score could change quickly.
  20. Living in Baltimore I finely get to go see the Sox. I have tickets for all three games and can’t wait. I know Esty and Shoe will pitch Monday and Tuesday, but who will be on the mound Wednesday? With the rain out last night, Mark will be going on 4 days rest. Will Cotts get his first start or are we going to bring Diaz up for the game? If anyone back home hears who will be pitching let me know.
  21. Can someone give updates for the fans from out of town? Please???
