  1. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jul 11, 2008 -> 12:10 PM) Two whole speeding tickets before I'm 21. Dumbest thing ever. Bought my first new car back in 1988, Dodge Daytona Turbo, black with t-tops and a manual trans, and day 2 got a ticket racing a Mustang (which I beat!).
  2. NSFW The controler on this game is hilarious! http://www.ripten.com/2008/07/03/vagina-he...ive-first-look/
  3. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 10, 2008 -> 07:21 AM) Its pretty sad when even Jesse Jackson is whispering essentially that Barack Obama is full of it. I hate to be on the same side as one of the countries biggest enforcers of the nations racial divide, but I will go one step further and say that Obama has been talking down to the entire nation, especially since Hillary dropped out, and it was refreshing to see someone who has a vested interest in seeing him win call him out on it. (even if he didn't want anyone else to know about it) I'm not so sure that Jessie really wants Obama to win. I see a petty man there, one who is jealous of Obama's campaign success, and who is all but ignored by Obama. I think on the surface he is pulling for him, but underneath, I bet he is very conflicted. I agree with you that I think Obama has been talking down to people, just not quite sure on Jessie's motivations.
  4. Bought Rock Band for my boys , fixed my bike, and the rest is on a cabin in Wisconsin, where everyone but me is at right now.
  5. Why were the Public Works employees not out there ANYWAY filling bags. Were they only going to save the town if they got paid?
  6. Frank here. Didn't encounter many other Franks until I got to college, then had 3 others just on my floor.
  7. I wonder what qualifications you need to fill and pack sandbags? 2 arms? Some legs? Breathing? I wonder how many hours they had to apprentice before they could become union sandbaggers?
  8. "Change that works for him!" (Obama)
  9. So, 'refining your position' is now a flip-flop? That should make Obama the master! He has 'refined his position' so much this campaign, I wonder if he remembers what it was to start with.
  10. QUOTE (santo=dorf @ Jul 8, 2008 -> 12:05 PM) They're not suing, they're just filing a grievance per the contract. Why bother to write up a contract and face the possibily of a strike if you are not going to abide by it? What if they ended up donating some of that money? So they are going to take money from the town, that was just devastated by the flood, and donate it. To the town that was just devastated by the flood?
  11. The discount clinics offered in many drug stores, Costcos and Wal Marts is a good step also. For most of the minor things these people go to the ER for, this place would do very cheaply. BUt of course, doctors groups are opposed to this, as it eats into their business. Sounds like a union complaint to me.
  12. QUOTE (mr_genius @ Jul 7, 2008 -> 08:31 PM) you think that there would be some kind of 'in case of total emergency volunteers can be used' or something in the contract. You would think that they were ALREADY working to save the city, and couldn't clone themselves to get OT.
  13. If I had actually been in the audience, I would have been outraged. Nothing faux about it.
  14. QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 6, 2008 -> 11:32 AM) That was pretty good, but man that guy is an awful cartoonist. He looks more like Putin than McCain. i think that is supposed to be Wesley Clark, who recently uttered the first box of that cartoon.
  15. At some point when your neck starts to disappear, doesn't it click in someone's head 'Hey, I am losing my neck. Maybe I am getting fat. I should stop eating now.'
  16. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Jul 4, 2008 -> 11:50 PM) It's shocking that people actually voted for this guy. He was pure hate. Adios Jesse. I'm shocked people voted for him as well, but unless people are trying to revise history and making him out to be godlike in his career, how about just shutting up? (Not you, just people in general)
  17. QUOTE (juddling @ Jul 5, 2008 -> 12:56 AM) PLANTATION, Fla. -- The family of one of the men who was shot by a retired United States Marine while they attempted to rob a Subway sandwich shop said the customer shouldn't have pulled the trigger. According to Plantation police, two armed men barged into the Subway at 1949 Pine Island Road shortly after 11 p.m. Wednesday, demanding money from the employee behind the counter. When they tried to force John Lovell into the bathroom, he pulled out a gun and shot both men, police said. Donicio Arrindell, 22, was shot in the head and later died at the hospital. Fredrick Gadson, 21, was shot in the chest and ran from the Subway, but police found him in hiding in some bushes on the property of a nearby BankAtlantic. Lovell, 71, was the lone customer at the time. Police said he had a concealed weapons permit. Gadson's grandparents told Local 10 on Thursday that Lovell was wrong for pulling the trigger. "He should not have taken the law in his hands," said Rosa Jones, Gadson's grandmother. Her husband, Ivory Jones, also condemned the media for its portrayal of Lovell's actions. "I don't condone what they did, (but) I definitely don't condone the news people making him out to seem like they're making a hero out of this man because he shot somebody down," he said. But Lovell's neighbor said he made the right decision. "He did the right thing," said Wendi Hill. "I mean, I was glad that it was them that got shot and not him." Police said Lovell, a retired Marine, wouldn't be charged. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Um...Ivory....the man IS a hero. He saved his own life and the life of the Subway worker. Link to article But...but...it could have all been a prank! They were such good boys! They would never hurt anyone!
  18. QUOTE (jackie hayes @ Jul 4, 2008 -> 08:09 PM) Yeah, that classlessness clearly bothers you quite a bit. I didn't mean that i would be the one to say things, but if how you lived defines what people say about you in death, then break out the popcorn for those 3, it should be really interesting.
  19. QUOTE (jackie hayes @ Jul 4, 2008 -> 09:26 PM) You say it's tasteless, but you're gloating about Chappaquiddick and Kennedy going to hell. Naturally. I was talking about one particular blog that was cited. One that didn't mention Helms burning in hell or dancing on graves (it did little more than quote his own words and summarize them, accurately, as "hateful"). I certainly didn't say anything celebratory about Helms's death. You brought the death-party into the discussion, in looking forward to the death of a living Senator. If you think it's tasteless, maybe, I dunno, don't f***ing do it? I don't think there was any gloating there. He said to be prepared for Chappaquiddick to come up, and that perhaps he will go to hell. Not quite the same.

  21. QUOTE (knightni @ Jul 4, 2008 -> 07:19 PM) How you live affects how people react when you die. Well then I can't wait for the posts when Teddy finally croaks. Or Jessie Jackson Or Al Sharpton
  22. QUOTE (Texsox @ Jul 4, 2008 -> 06:34 AM) Seems that asking a music station to spend $5,000 on the 24/7 music they play is a bargain Except that is was only the 'small' stations that would get charged the $5000 flat fee. If it was $5000 per station, I don't think the stink would be half as much as it is. The clear channel stations would certainly be charged something several times higher.
  23. Jesse Helms, you rat bastard, burn in hell. http://www.dailykos.com/storyonly/2008/7/4...5738/621/546543 Please Excuse Me While I Dance Upon His Grave http://www.dailykos.com/storyonly/2008/7/4...0893/615/546533 A moment of anachronism for Jesse Helms death http://www.dailykos.com/storyonly/2008/7/4...6260/645/546503 Racist, homophobe Jesse Helms is dead http://www.americablog.com/2008/07/racist-...ms-is-dead.html What class.
