  1. QUOTE(bulokis @ Jan 26, 2005 -> 07:24 PM) Thanks goldy, looks good . On a Goldmember scale from 1-10...1 being the lowest, and 10 being the highest...I give that one a 3. You just didn't try......you could redo it. It's still good though.
  2. Sox........................................................Jaguars. that is it.....don't really have a favorite basketball team, but if i were to chose it would be the Magic.
  3. QUOTE(winodj @ Jan 26, 2005 -> 04:02 PM) Can we get a Sayonara Borchard banner when that happens? Maybe with Iguchi lording over Joe? Awesome.
  4. QUOTE(winodj @ Jan 26, 2005 -> 03:54 PM) There already was a video game called monopoly. For the Sega master system no less. sega eh......i had one for the original Nintendo
  5. THE MARTIANS ARE COMING!!!!.....THE MARTIANS ARE COMING!!!!!!!1
  6. Video Games are in a way developing Monopolies.... :headshake
  7. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Jan 26, 2005 -> 03:19 PM) Cub fans are so delusional, they think Richard Lewis is a lock to be their future second baseman for the next decade. Some of them think that the Juan Cruz deal wasn't that bad despite the fact that Pratt was terrible at every level last year and was later traded to the Brewers, and Richard Lewis hit .234 in AAA. :fthecubs
  8. QUOTE(SoxFanForever @ Jan 26, 2005 -> 02:39 PM) What a bunch of s***. I got a 53% barely into the Dixie Category. Yet, all my answers were northwest and great lakes area. same answers i got..but i got 55% Dixie.....
  9. He'll play...and he'll be the MVP........................ not. But he will still play.
  10. QUOTE(bulokis @ Jan 25, 2005 -> 11:53 PM) Mientkievicz to mets done. Doug Mientkiewicz - 1B - BOS According to the Associated Press, the Red Sox will receive an A ball prospect and cash from the Mets for Doug Mientkiewicz in a deal that could be announced on Wednesday. Boston would receive cash? That's probably subject to change. Jan. 26 - 12:12 am et Source: The Associated Press Mets and Sox...two of the more active teams this offseason
  11. QUOTE(boonrob @ Jan 26, 2005 -> 12:00 AM) Can anyone tell me (for sure) what hotel the SOX stay at in Tucson for spring training? I'm open to other suggestion of decent nearby hotels if that one is sold out for my dates. Thanks. Welcome to Soxtalk .....and to answer your question....I have no clue
  12. QUOTE(qwerty @ Jan 25, 2005 -> 11:35 PM) Willie would have a worse short stop arm than eckstein and that's not very good. And that's what i'd be worried about...But he can still try it to see how he fits...That is just a suggestion by a member on a message board...it probably won't happen though. Mainly for your reason.
  13. QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Jan 25, 2005 -> 11:30 PM) I'd like to give Harris a few ops as SS in ST before we give up on him. I'm sure there will be some split squad games & I'd like the Sox to see if he could be an adequate SS. I'm just looking for him to give Uribe a spell now & then. If Harris could prove to be a reasonable option at SS then I think his stock improves greatly with the Sox. He has decent numbers against RHers & when you're looking at him as a bench player you can make use of that. That is what I was thinking too.....you could even send him down for a couple weeks to the minors as a SS. See what he does with that situation. All is not lost on Harris yet....
  14. no clue what that triple post was about....:dumbfounded:
  15. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Jan 25, 2005 -> 11:26 PM) Thanks for the welcome guys! Only 21 days til pitchers and catchers report! Only..?????
  16. QUOTE(Y2HH @ Jan 25, 2005 -> 11:18 PM) I agree 100%, I think many people are overlooking the fact that LEE played at US Cellular while Dye played in Oakland, where, as we all know, hitting home runs is a lot harder than it looks...Oakland owned us the past few years BECAUSE of that...we went there thinking 'small park, homer time', only it didn't quite work out that way...the ball seems to die there, while here, it keeps going. Also...people forget Everett has a winners attitude, and after his early season injury last year, combined with the fact he didn't feel as if his team stood a chance, he let himself go...on the Sox, Everett feels he has a REAL chance to win, so unlike last season, we get to see the REAL Everett. I think this guy is VASTLY underrated -- he has the heart of a champion and does ANYTHING to win. he was an all star in 2003....can he be in 05. IMO probably not...but it's up to him...not me. He will definitely improve upon 04's numbers.
  17. QUOTE(Y2HH @ Jan 25, 2005 -> 11:21 PM) I haven't felt this good about a season beginning since 94, sadly enough...or, happily enough, depending on how you look at things. i agree...everyone feels ecstatic about the season....but impatient too....I can't wait for April to get here....hell i'll settle for preseason...
  18. QUOTE(3E8 @ Jan 25, 2005 -> 11:14 PM) Chip............on Braves announcing. :shiver: really?? didn't know that. :headshake
  19. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Jan 25, 2005 -> 11:11 PM) Haha. Yah. I'm more of a lurker than a poster. But I figured people would want to see this. Thanks for the welcome! I'm pumped for the upcoming season! Pumped doesn't describe the way everyone feels about the upcoming season right now.....everyone's impatient...as am i. I hope Iguchi does do his part and contributes as he says...Here's to the 05 Sox
  20. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Jan 25, 2005 -> 11:10 PM) This is something I think people are looking over and not even realizing. This team still does have all kinds of power. There is no doubt in my mind that the Sox will still hit around 200 homers. However...Dye does not = Lee when healthy...Dye is a .270 25 80 .800 type player...Caballo is a .310 35 110 .900 type player, with a little more speed too. But better defense and arm come with Dye......which was more of a necessity IMO...The loss of Lee doesn't hurt as much Offensively as the Gaining of Dye helps us Defensively
  21. Welcome to Sox Talk .....haven't posted in a month
  22. Well now that Chip is gone from Cubs announcing.....who is the worst????
  23. QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Jan 25, 2005 -> 07:25 PM) Thanks for that link. It's good stuff! David Sloane really spanked the Mets. Lumping them with the O's. It looks like Sosa will be a Met afterall. I think having lost out on Delgado Minaya is going to accept the Sosa + 9M for Floyd offer. He's on the hook for Sosa for 27M/2 yr. It's not a big deal for the Mets payroll. Floyd has already failed as a Met & Sosa has a much better resume. So it's definitely an upgrade. With the 9M cost the Cubs are on the hook with Floyd for 22M/2 yr. That leaves the Mets, O's Rangers, Cub, Tigs all wanting to sign Maggs. Damn! He would have looked good at the Cell: Delgado LHB, career 282A, 336HR, 1058RBI. In 04 he hit 269. Gotta love how Floyd(a whitesox fan) will possibly be playing for the Cubbies
  24. LOL...definitely a classic...i've had that downloaded for a while now...
