  1. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Jul 23, 2015 -> 12:06 PM) This was an interesting read: linky Jon is Neo
  2. QUOTE (WBWSF @ Jul 28, 2015 -> 09:08 AM) Juston Upton is there for the taking. He would look good as the White Sox DH. Right Fielder....put Avi at DH
  3. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Jul 12, 2015 -> 01:38 AM) http://www.fangraphs.com/community/chris-s...-dominant-june/ For anyone who didn't want to read those glowing numbers, in the month of June, Sale had the most dominant Fastball....Change-up.....AND slider. They credit him with throwing a sinker as well, but I think that's just the computer systems fudging data or him slipping with a pitch. The most interesting thing of note you may not have EVER guessed? Check the table at the bottom and see who threw the most valuable sinker in June... He has a 2 seamer in MLB the Show, I'm assuming he pulls that out every once in a while and it has a sinker type movement to it.
  4. Terminator was better than Rise of the Machines and Salvation...though Genisys is a terrible name. Felt like Emilia was miscast...good in some scenes bland in others, just like GoT now that I think about it. Same with Courtney. Was a few plot holes (there always are in these movies). Cheesy dialogue, could've went without the damn callback 1 liners from the first 2 movies. 2.5/5 Got what I expected so no complaints on paying to watch it...after credits sets up possible sequels, so if you watch stay for that.
  5. This performance bought him some games(good thing or bad does it matter now?)...I like Danks, but he's not in the equation to a winning ballclub. 1 reason why they aren't a winning ballclub.
  6. Reyes, Grichuk, and Martinez is a start...what else are they giving us? If that's the offer, walk away laughing my as off.
  7. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 26, 2015 -> 03:37 PM) Scott Merkin ‏@scottmerkin 1h1 hour ago Conor Gillaspie going through some early defensive drills under Joe McEwing's guidance here at Comerica Park Daryl Van Schouwen ‏@CST_soxvan 1h1 hour ago Gillaspie, Flowers, Ramirez, Garcia, Abreu, Eaton, Cabrera McEwing out for early work. 8. Rick is about the only front office person I'd keep at this moment
  9. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Jun 19, 2015 -> 10:07 PM) Well, I'm sorry, but they are going to have to give a "real deal" to get Chris Sale. Maybe 3-4 real deals. Yeah...could you imagine Sale in the NL for a whole year? Probably better numbers than Scherzer.
  10. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jun 19, 2015 -> 09:57 PM) Let's be honest, the failures primarily fall on the players. Having said that, it's Steverson's job to improve guys' approaches at the plate, especially if they're pressing. He's clearly not adding any value right now, so there's nothing to lose, but I'm not sure he deserves to be the first guy to go. Flowers & Sanchez both deserve to go before him IMO. That's why I said fair. Oh...the players not performing need to be gone too...obviously you have to live with Cabrera Laroche...etc... but Steverson iis a must go...he has lost his ground with the Sox. He can't do anything for this team from this point...let him try elsewhere, but he needs to be fired.
  11. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jun 19, 2015 -> 09:50 PM) At some point, the hitting coach has to be accountable for the epic failures of this offense. May not be fair, but there's nothing to lose at this point. I say shake things up and hope the offense responds. Lol...fair? The Sox are last in almost every offensive category. It would be unfair to keep him on the team...along with a few others
  12. That's the thing. People need to be sacrificed...even if the Sox are terrible the whole year...actually doing something shows that you care about the situation. Going through every game without benching players or making roster changes or firing the staff responsible for making sure this sort of play doesn't happen, is ridiculous. No other team in the MLB sits on their hands and does nothing... Every team has heads piling up off the chopping block...but not the sox, everyone's coddled with kids gloves and I'm sick of it. Sox need new everything starting from top down.
  13. Even if he gets resurrected in books I think I remember reading they still might keep him dead. Why!? It's beyond me...he's a popular character and a resurrection only proves who we all think he is...how would they not want that or him in the show?
  14. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jun 15, 2015 -> 04:16 PM) IIRC, he has already cut his hair. That was what the Entertainment Weekly article reported. I guess that might mean that Snow comes back, but in the form of his beiwolf (sp?)? Most recent pic I've seen from the last week shows decently long hair...it's shorter but like inch or inch and a half off the ends
  15. He can't just come out and say he'll be back next season...that'll ruin the setup in the show. There are rumors/pics of him being in Belfast for preproduction. I believe season six starts filming within a few weeks...I know the outdoor environment shots for the wall and the North film in late September to November, but I'm sure inside shots and shots on built sets happen during the summer.
  16. QUOTE (RegionSox @ Jun 14, 2015 -> 08:35 PM) Did anyone else find it a bit odd that Stannis died off camera like that? Seems like an odd choice. Reminded me of Brienne's chapter where she was about to die, then it just ends...only to show up later in the next book.
  17. Not a well done season finale. Just seemed too chopped together. The longest scene was Cersei walk by a long shot...everything else seemed like quick 3 minute scenes. Overall it was OK, battle of winterfell sucked, Brienne killing Stannis(miraculously finding him in the middle of a battlefield alive in the forest) was just too cheesy and tropish/cliche. Myrcella getting poisoned was so obvious when she was kissed...Dorne overall gets an F this season, just terrible plot and writing for the whole section. Mel hitting up the wall before "For the Watch" only strengthens her whole resurrecting Jon theory. Everything up at the wall was well done this season. I loved that and everything in Kings Landing. Dany's story was done well for the show...could've been better I think, but it was alright.
  18. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jun 13, 2015 -> 09:38 PM) Not sure if it's legit, but there's a "Previously On" floating around for episode 10 and it contains a Benjen Stark flashback, which is even more interesting since the actor had been listed on IMDB's cast list for this episode. If this is real and they're actually bringing him back in some capacity (alive or White Walker) rather than just having a dialogue about him, then we're talking serious book spoilers. Saw it. Only thing I see is he knows the parentage of Jon. What else would he be there for During a finally? Or maybe he's a white walker/other/coldhands/wight? Or maybe it was a BS preview...
  19. Jurassic World was solid. Enjoyed it a lot. for a sequel I appreciate Hollywood not ramming the first movie down my throat. They had subtle nods here and there but no blatant BS just to appease the lowest denominator.
  20. Book Stanis and show Stanis continue tor grow even further apart. I knew it was coming, but thought Stanis would need convincing....not that it would be his idea.
  21. QUOTE (SnB @ Jun 1, 2015 -> 08:47 AM) So....how was there a boat waiting for Jon Snow at the end of that whole ordeal? People were going crazy looking for a way out and there's a very convenient boat just waiting for him. Fantastic episode, but this part annoyed the crap out of me. John sends the boat back to the Ship. He tells the guy that is steering to unload and come back for him and wait...I've watched it 3 times, and it's noticable. QUOTE (TaylorStSox @ Jun 1, 2015 -> 10:49 AM) Mel sees something in her fires and has a stunned look in the episode preview. My guess is that she sees 'Snow' and returns to Castle Black. I'm thinking that the Ramsey attack happens to mess with their supplies. Stannis out of desperation sends Mel, Selyse, and Shereen back to the Wall with soldiers so they don't have to worry about food etc...That's my assumption on how Mel gets back to "raise" Jon.
  22. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ May 28, 2015 -> 12:52 PM) Awesome news about Euron & Tarley. Not sure if the maesters subplot will be included, but clearly Oldtown & the Reach will be a major plot point next season and this all but confirms that Sam will be heading there soon. My guess is he goes to Horn Hill to drop off Gilly and then gets caught in the middle of Euron's invasion of Oldtown. Also, this makes me think Loras will survive his trial and be involved in this storyline, filling the role of his brothers in Winds of Winter. On an unrelated note, I'm convinced that Trystane is Aegon. The Dorne storyline has been pointless up until now, and Doran has barely been used this season. Given he only has one child who happens to be a boy, his marriage pact plan with the Targaryens doesn't seem possible IMO. There has to be a payoff to this storyline and I think that will be a big "Trystane = Aegon" reveal. The fact we haven't seen or heard about Varys for a while makes me believe he'll make a late-season cameo and announce his true intentions. Not sure if that will be in Dorne with Doran or in King's Landing with Kevin and/or Pycelle, but I doubt we've seen the last Varys and I'm certain it won't be with Dany. Ive been thinking the same. I'm thinking Dorne support for Dany/Viserys has switched with Varys/Ilyrio support for Aegon. Doran is show supporter of Aegon and Varys is show supporter of Dany. I think this makes even more sense with Arianne actually travelling to meet with the supposed Aegon landing near storms end
  23. QUOTE (greg775 @ May 30, 2015 -> 12:40 AM) Good win. Rodon, Sale and Q should be the cornerstones of a great rotation. Problem is the other 2 are worthless. Tonight though great win except for Melky's 0-for-6. Beckham is a stud this year. Needs to start at 2B. Flowers is done. Soto is no good but as caulfield said he's at least had a few clutch hits and is throwing better. Bring up Kottaris and go with a Soto/Special K combination. Pitching saved the day tonight; we need a new hitting coach and philosophy folks. Though the Sox hit great in that last inning. Samardzija has been pretty good...I'm assuming you mean Danks and Noesi
  24. I've noticed as well...I've also asked the same questions. Weird as hell, I liked the offseason moves, but in the back of my mind I kinda had an idea that this would happen. Can't explain it.
  25. QUOTE (bmags @ May 26, 2015 -> 11:44 AM) Man, the Dorne stuff is so bad it seems beyond redemption. I've never seen this show do worse character introduction and development than with the Sand Snakes. That scene in the jail was like something out of a Starz show, not Game of Thrones. And all of the "wink" and side-eye glances in the cell, "oh here she goes again" crap. Andy greenwald made a point that the shooting of this show is so intense, they can't be at every set and basically what they shoot is what they get. I wonder if they got the Dorne stuff and were like "crap, well, we gotta make it work". I wonder if it is just poor writing, or horrible execution by the director. It has been just so campy. The only redeemable thing out of Dorne so far has been Doran...and he's been in what, a total of 3 minutes? Well, him and Tyene...
