  1. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ May 26, 2015 -> 01:42 PM) The Dorne stuff was going to be so difficult to integrate into the show. Martin spent a bunch of time on it and really where did that story go in two books? Yeah...all that story to set up TWOW probably. I can see a bigger part to play during that book...but you're right about how far they took their story in book 4 and 5
  2. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 26, 2015 -> 01:53 PM) Dan Hayes ‏@CSNHayes 14m14 minutes ago #WhiteSox for 5/26: Eaton 8, Cabrera 7, Abreu 3, LaRoche DH, Ramirez 6, Shuck 9, Beckham 5, Flowers 2, Sanchez 4. Danks vs. Dickey. Alexei Ramirez career vs. R.A. Dickey: 4-for-10, 2 homers, 5 RBIs. #WhiteSox After today's game 4-for-14
  3. Love those jerseys. When did they get phased out...last I remember their use was around 07/08 ish
  4. QUOTE (Dunt @ May 20, 2015 -> 04:26 PM) They will get 1 run on 2 hits tonight, just watch. Damn you if so!!
  5. Last episode is rated the worst episode on Rotten Tomatoes. I agree. Not a fan of this season at all. I knew they needed to change things, subtract here, add here, condense and reestablish things...but the direction they've gone with doing that has not been good at all this season. Going with Dorne as the main new storyline this season has been a failure...especially cutting Arianne, Darkstar, Oakheart, Quentyn, and Aegon.
  6. There are no silent spots with Rowand. He's always got something to say...and it's usually intriguing. With the Sox playing good ball and Rowand in the booth, Hawk has actually been really tolerable...but I never complain about Hawk.
  7. Isn't Jaime Garcia coming back for them soon? Also they have 2 or three options in the minors. Cardinals aren't hurt as mush as most other teams would be with their number 1 being shelved. It stings, but if any team in this league were to get over that, it's them. I'd like to see Marco come up...not sure what their view on that is though LOL
  8. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 22, 2015 -> 04:10 PM) Elimination series. LMAO. How far back was Cleveland to the 2005 World Champions before they cut it to 1.5? And now you are saying a series where when it is over they have 145 games left is possibly an elimination series? And how many of those 145 would be with Detroit? No team is eliminated 1/10 of they way through the season lol.
  9. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Feb 18, 2015 -> 11:05 AM) Panda ate his deal this offseason. Seriously though, dude looks huge now...more so than any year with the Giants.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Feb 6, 2015 -> 04:13 PM) I'm a big fan, mainly because i'm a historical drama and pirate fan. They did a pretty poor job explaining the whole Nassau business, but when it's just about Flint and his group it's excellent. I'm enjoying the flashbacks they started this season. So far the show just keeps getting better and better. I'm surprised more "critics" gave up on it so quickly. I angered Charles Vane that was a pleasant surprise. This season just keeps getting more badass
  11. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Feb 6, 2015 -> 01:52 PM) I'm glad someone got my joke. Yeah, hopefully he's a Bad Ass Shogun on the mound...
  12. QUOTE (Stan Bahnsen @ Jan 6, 2015 -> 09:26 PM) Funny to see Tyler Danish talking about someone two years his senior as "just a great kid". Was gonna say...'isn't Carlos older?'
  13. With Pittsburgh rumored interest in Danks earlier, could this be a smoke screen? Possibly Sox throwing it out there as there being more suitors out there wanting John Danks, maybe to get some other teams to possibly bite on some of that bait?
  14. Shields is about to put it on cruise control...
  15. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Sep 25, 2014 -> 10:41 AM) 2005 was 2005, but my favorite moment, the moment when I felt the proudest of Paul Konerko as a player and representative of our team, was the first pitch, no-doubt homerun after he got hit in the face by Carl Pavano in 2010. Can anyone find video? About a month before that game, maybe less...Konerko hit a homer off Pavano. Sox killed the twins that day by 10+. I'm thinking he wanted to brush him back but missed his spot.

  17. I voted Panda. Switch hitting 3rd baseman with decent pop. 28 years old. 4 year deal works for me
  18. QUOTE (LDF @ Sep 2, 2014 -> 10:06 PM) I respect what you are saying, but I would let the professional continuing doing what they are doing. I agree...just my opinion on conditioning to getting higher pitch counts. I don't see a point in it other than strengthening an arm(but keeping same pitch count for games). Don't mean to keep a guy out there for 160+.
  19. Honestly...He officially pitched that amount, but do we add all the pre game and pre inning pitches to that total? I think a good way to condition a pitcher is to have them continue throwing after they've exited the game. Not necessarily 100% but enough to build a bigger stamina/endurance.
  20. They can go out and buy it...but the lack of pitching for the cubs core is a huge ?. So by default I'll take the sox. I like the cubs projections...but sox have more proven core players.
  21. Seems like a drunk rant...This thread makes no sense. Teams would be going through a dozen managers a season if they thought this way.
  22. Not a fan of trading Conor, unless the Sox get blown away. He's perfect to keep at 3rd until a replacement can take over in the next year or three. If anything make the guy a super utility and take advantage of what he gives you from the left side. Why would anyone one to get rid of something the Sox should be looking for? It's only his second full year in the Majors.
  23. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Jul 15, 2014 -> 07:33 AM) NL: McCutchen 8, Puig 9, Tulowitzki 6, Goldschmidt 3, Stanton DH, Ramirez 5, Utley 4, Gomez 7; Wainright 1 AL: Jeter 6, Trout 7, Cano 4, Cabrera 3, Bautista 9, Cruz DH, Jones 8, Donaldson 5, Perez 2; Hernandez 1 I guess Farrell has no interest in winning the game when he bats by far the worst hitter on the team first. Better to bat him first. Get him his 2 at bats and out of there as quick as possible.
