QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Oct 16, 2012 -> 01:56 PM) *suspension of disbelief didn't catch that

QUOTE (danman31 @ Oct 16, 2012 -> 01:11 AM) If you allow for the fact that they don't need nutrition, no zombie universe has properly addressed decay. A zombie invasion is more or less impossible because once a human body is dead it's going to decay fairly quickly and the zombies wouldn't be able to walk within a week. You'd see a lot more of the zombies crawling around like the one Rick shot at with its lower torso missing. Of course, that's not very scary because it's not really much of a threat. I'm under the assumption that whatever "virus" that the zombies have in movies, tv, and books/comics prevents the body from decomposing so fast or at all. Call it an unwritten rule for my brain, but it's a suspension of disbelief I take when trying to think why the bodies just don't waste away after a certain period of time. The virus preserves the body in the condition it's in, but can't help natural bacteria from eating away at it...

Slumpbusted Gamethread: Orioles vs White Sox

QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Aug 30, 2012 -> 06:34 AM) Detroit plays night game in KC, so Sox will actually get into Detroit in advance of the series well before the Tigers. Would be awesome if the Tigers play a 15+ inning game and lose to the Royals. -
Well, facing them was guaranteed...as they're playing every team...hopefully it's at home.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Aug 15, 2012 -> 08:58 AM) Dude... Justin Timberlake will make you go see a movie, but Sam Rockwell and Christopher Walken are has-been b-rate stars? Really? That's what I was thinking. Plus it's the writer/director of "In Bruges", a great film.

QUOTE (Cali @ Aug 13, 2012 -> 12:11 PM) The Broadcasts with Wimpy this season have been so much better than the Stone ones. It's a really noticeable difference. And I l love it. Takes me back to my childhood. Anyways, I don't know about you guys but I am sick of these 4 game series' with the AL East. Every f***ing season seems like we're playing Baltimore and Toronto ONLY in 4 game series', never 3 gamers... But like all 4 game series, especially on the road, gotta split it. Best you can do is split. Worst you can do is split, best is sweep...

QUOTE (Brian @ Jul 31, 2012 -> 05:40 AM) F the Twins. That game pissed me off watching them celebrate when we handed them the W on a platter. Mercy is for the weak! Put the Twins in a BODY BAG!!!

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 25, 2012 -> 08:25 AM) MLB Stat of the Day @MLBStatoftheDay Since his first season in 2001, Adam Dunn is third in @MLB in home runs, first in strikeouts and first in walks. I'm assuming if not for the anomaly last year in his power he would be higher in homeruns?

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 24, 2012 -> 10:14 AM) If DKR is the best film, then Greg is right about Ozzie. Opinions... I see what you're getting at here...but don't compare what you're comparing. An opinion on someone liking a movie as the best of the trilogy is far different from whatever it is that greg does with Ozzie.
-
I don't think it's the best movie ever, but my opinion is that it's the best of the trilogy.

QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Jul 9, 2012 -> 11:01 PM) Dude, I had no idea they are remaking ROBOCOP, siiiiiiick! Hugh Laurie, Gary Oldman, Sam Jackson, Joel Kinnaman(RoboCop) are current cast

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 6, 2012 -> 09:50 AM) I'm sure there will be a mention of the past, but remember, this movie takes place like a decade after the last one. I heard it starts off months after the second, then jumps ahead 8 years. Batman/Bruce is supposed to be 39/40 years old for the last film. You can kind of make out grey hair on Bruce in some shots in the trailers.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 26, 2012 -> 10:45 AM) Dan Johnson is putting up those numbers at AAA, not on a ML team somewhere. Johnson is playing in AAA for the 8th year now. Plus a year in Japan. He last stops in major league parks have been disasters, someone posted them earlier. He is a classic 4A player. The guy hasn't cleared .200 at the major league level since 2007. Plus he is 32 years old now. He is past his prime, so I don't get the expectation that he would be better at the major league level than he has been for five years now. He has been putting up great numbers at AAA and in Japan for years now, but that hasn't translated to any sort of success a the major league level for years now. I'd have no problem if they called Johnson up as a back up in the OF and IF, but to replace Dayan Viciedo? No way. Fine as a backup, but not to replace Viciedo is what he is exactly. I'd understand an argument to bring him up, but the argument for replacing Viciedo is not logical.

I had a good time at the game...seems like both sox and brewer fans were loving it. GREAT WIN!!!
-
I'll be at the game with my brother
-
well this is nothing but great news. If he becomes the starter for Humber it's even better
-
Q & Peavy with awesome games and nothing to show....Humber is the lone winner this series with a mediocre effort.
-
Only four teams with a better record than the Sox at the moment
-
I'm of the mind that the banner of soxtalk never change... Also, my sig has gotten more nostalgic...it means more to me now than it did 5 years ago when i made it

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ May 17, 2012 -> 09:25 AM) Anyone check out NBC's "Revolution" trailer? Looks pretty good, though I'm sure they'll screw it up like they did Terra Nova (i.e., a good long adventure/mystery story idea turns into week-to-week procedural). http://www.nbc.com/revolution/ "Gus" being the bad guy can only help a television show...so I will watch this. Hope I'm not disappointed.

QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ May 16, 2012 -> 06:04 AM) Gavin's gotta put his big boy pants on. We need this guy to go 6 or 7 innings and only give up a couple runs. He's crapped down his pant leg too many times this season. As long as the game is out of reach for the other team, it doesn't hurt as much -

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 2, 2012 -> 08:12 AM) Cleveland hasn't hit a homer since April 17. Don't start now boys. Duncan hit one last night didn't he?
