  1. if there ever were a player coach on this team, i'd want it to be AJP. Thankfully there isn't however.
  2. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Oct 10, 2011 -> 11:03 AM) Happy B-day to Wanne and to one of the most underrated graphic design posters on this site in blacksox. (sorry.. always will remember you with that name.. and the sweet sigs from back in the day) I've lost free time to do those. Need to get on making a new one though.
  3. Mark Mcgwire is a hitting coach.....I think Frank could be one too if he wanted it.
  4. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Oct 6, 2011 -> 09:50 AM) I take it they shot it in Seattle? depressing?
  5. QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 6, 2011 -> 04:44 AM) Hope Carpenter is better than last game. His last game wasn't on full rest....the next was is. Let's Go Cards!
  6. QUOTE (mmmmmbeeer @ Oct 4, 2011 -> 11:07 PM) Checked out Homeland after reading about it here.....I'll definitely be watching the next episode. Impressive. I DVR'ed it and watched it last night. My comment was "If you have Showtime, you need to watch Homeland. And if you don't have Showtime, you need to get it so you can watch Homeland." The previews for the rest of the season is what set me off on it. The first episode was obviously a buildup....but the rest of the season looks intense.
  7. QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 4, 2011 -> 06:47 PM) Holliday needs to man up and play. Definitely. It's the damn playoffs.
  8. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Oct 3, 2011 -> 04:39 PM) I'd be so happy if the Sox moved Danks/Floyd. It'd be nice to keep them, but looking at it deeper, it's better to move them. I'm with you on this one.
  9. Sale has learned at the Major Leauge level for 1.5+ years. I say that's better than learning in the minors....of course the downfall is he's been in the bullpen, but I believe it's better for him and the team him learning in the bullpen at the MLB level, than slowly progressing in the minors. Now going forward, you strecth his arm back to being a starter.
  10. Third time Pujols has had an OPS under 1.0, It was .906
  11. First time ever Albert Pujols didn't get 100 rbis or .300 average. He had 99 rbis and a .299 batting average. He did miss 15 games from being on the DL earlier in the year....and still wound up with great stats regardless.
  12. Rooting for Rays/Rangers vs Cards/Brewers/Diamondbacks World Series. I just don't want to see Tigers Yankees or Phillies near the World Series.
  13. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Sep 28, 2011 -> 07:34 PM) Ozzie and Nick Swisher did not get along. I knew this....point proven
  14. QUOTE (Tex @ Sep 28, 2011 -> 07:25 PM) Yeah, bringing in guys like Thome and Dunn, based on hall of fame numbers, proves that. Further evidence, I believe, looking at Nick Swisher can tell you right away. Good offensive player was brought in by KW(his job). Swisher proceeded to have a bad year...on/off the field. Kenny then trades Swisher(being a liability offensively after the bad year), who then goes back to career norms. I would say coaching has more to do with how a player succeeds or fails far more than the GM.
  15. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 21, 2011 -> 03:09 PM) CST_soxvan Daryl Van Schouwen Sox@tribe, 7:05; de aza lf, ramirez ss prznski c, rios cf dunn 1b, viciedo rf, morel 3b flowers c beckham 2b; buehrle v jimenez cool,
  16. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Sep 21, 2011 -> 03:02 PM) STFU STEVE. THEY KNOW MORE. for all you know they could be a "double agent", and be a troll themselves
  17. I'm going to stand by my comparison of De Aza being a poor mans Carl Crawford. I think it is the ideal situation for him to leadoff next year.
  18. I don't usually care for 1st person, but Battlefield 3 is going to make me love them.
  19. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Sep 19, 2011 -> 04:45 PM) Source Code had a stupid ending. wonder how the tv series will follow the movie?
  20. without the multiple scenes of no dialogue and characters just staring at each other with no reply...Drive would have probably been a half hour less in length. Add the s***ty music and I would say Drive is perfect at a C- for score. Loved the acting overall, and the tense scenes were really good.
  21. I bet Viciedo comes in and hits a leadoff homerun next inning.....
  22. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Aug 31, 2011 -> 12:41 PM) They won last night with him hitting 4th, scored 8 runs. The Twins lost the game last night, I wouldn't say the Sox won.(technically they did duh)
