  2. i know i would dread having a closed door meeting with the head honcho.....I wonder how Rios would come out of a meeting with Reinsdorf?
  3. QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Jul 7, 2011 -> 09:41 PM) Holy s***. When I left BWW the Cubs were down 8-0... and they just won 10-8?? I wonder if the Sox have a comeback like that in them?
  4. If you bring up Viciedo for Dunn, might as well bring up De Aza for Rios....HOLY s***
  5. was having fun watching the Knights gameday......sucks that they are in a delay, times like this i wish i had mlb.tv
  6. QUOTE (OilCan @ Jul 7, 2011 -> 07:04 PM) Found something else, another ATL name MIGHT have surfaced. Michael Minor. http://hardballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/07/...raves-pitching/ LOL...Viciedo hitting a three run bomb off Minor tonight
  7. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jul 7, 2011 -> 06:35 PM) If this offer is true, I think you have make the deal. I actually don't think the drop from Quentin to Viciedo will be as big as some people think and I believe Viciedo would offer more consistency, which can help offset some of our offensive struggles when we're in one of our notorious team-wide slumps. More importantly, trading for Beachy allows you to move at least one starter and possibly two. One way or the other, you should be able to get a rental upgrade at LF or 3B for Jackson. I think that upgrade would more than compensate any downgrade in RF, so your offensive overall should improve a little. Swapping Jackson for Beachy would probably be a wash for this year, but offers obvious long-term benefits. The flexibility to trade a second starter is also interesting, although the only two with signicant value (excluding Humber, because god only knows how other GMs view him) are Danks and Floyd. I could see KW getting real creative and moving Floyd for a package that helps us both now and in the future. Having said all this, a Beachy-Quentin deal is risky but could pay serious dividends. I'm definitely willing to roll the dice on this deal if it were actually offered. great point...i like the trading two pitchers view after a deal like this.
  8. QUOTE (PorkChopExpress @ Jul 7, 2011 -> 05:42 PM) Yes. Call me crazy, but with the feel-good vibes going around the clubhouse right now after getting Paulie into the All Star game, I see the team coming out with a little spring in their step. Plus, after Blackburn basically ridiculed them publicly for being incapable of adjusting in game, I think they may actually have some bulletin board material this time. I just feel good about this series. I have the same feeling
  9. Maybe another minor reason why Quentin isn't playing tonight? Let alone the 0fer off Carl.
  10. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 7, 2011 -> 03:00 PM) Great post again. I wish they'd shuffle it up just per chance we get lightning in a bottle. How bout a lineup of Lexi ss Beckham 2b (I seriously considered AJP here) Paulie 1b Quentin rf AJ/Castro c (start Castro versus lefties 50 percent of the time) Rios (somebody try to fire him up before games) cf Pierre lf (til Dayan gets here, why not?) Dunn (dh) Morel (3b) What's wrong with this lineup? I like it. This lineup can't be any worse than what we have had. The radical nature of it might actually change some mentalities at the plate. Going with Juan first, Morel second and Dunn third this series is buzzkill, baby. That and bad coaching
  11. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 6, 2011 -> 08:55 PM) Haugh on the need for Viciedo to be brought up... http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseb...,2879948.column It's obviously much better for him to stay in the minors and try for an MVP, he is top 6 or 7 in almost all offensive categories. It's good to see he's in the Futures game
  12. They say hitting is contagious....well obviously the opposite of hitting is as well....though it's more like a communicable form of cancer with our team.
  13. At work with nothing going on, and watching this game on pc......I'd much rather be working....WTF???
  14. As long as changes are made to this team, I'm willing to sacrifice this year. I'd be embarassed for the Sox if I was a fan of another team....There is no definable word for what this team is....at least I can't think of any.
  15. I dunno if he sees himself being one in the future, but I think he would make a really good manager.
  16. this is one of the few movies i've been waiting for this year.
  17. rather have the Knights lineup out there than this....WOW.
  18. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jun 30, 2011 -> 12:52 PM) Yeah I was duped into thinking he was a star of sorts. Probably because I was fan of 2 guys a girl and a pizza place. Although Simmons makes a bunch of terrible points in there. First, Adventureland was a good movie, equal to, if not better than the overrated Dazed and Confused (oh! they're smoking pot! an instant classic!) Also, his list of 24 stars is atrocious. Galifinakis? Really? I guy that's never headlined his own movie is a star? He's not even funny (seriously, go watch his "standup," it's brutal). Also, Affleck? Really? Are they friends? Did he ignore that whole decade or so where he was considered one of the biggest flops in hollywood history? Or is it just because thay bohth hail frohm fackin' beantown? And Gyllenhaal? Ugh. I get he's not saying the "best" actors out there, but come on. Gyllenhaal is basically Reynolds right? Didn't Prince of Persia flop just as much as the Green Hornet? Prince of Persia was kind of a flop in the US but made 335 million worldwide.....so overall can't really call it a flop.
  19. QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Jun 20, 2011 -> 03:36 PM) Why do threads about Ozzie always end in swearing and name-calling? What are going to do when Ozzie leaves? marlinstalk.com???
  20. QUOTE (T R U @ Jun 20, 2011 -> 02:54 PM) this convo is so gay I'm offended
  21. QUOTE (TitoMB @ May 27, 2011 -> 07:16 PM) So... is Beckham really done? Haven't heard anything official yet
  22. QUOTE (fathom @ May 24, 2011 -> 03:22 PM) If only we had a prospect in our system that could mash lefty pitching!! He's no slouch against right handers either
  23. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 24, 2011 -> 02:41 PM) I don't want to blow the team up. You clearly are inferring what you aren't reading. I want someone f***ing fired to show that people will be held accountable in this franchise. We have a fully capable, highly regarded Assistant GM who can take the reigns. And hell, maybe fire the manager and the hitting coach of a roster that perennially underperforms. That doesn't mean trade every player. Now that I look at it, this is my thinking as well.
  24. Now if a couple other players can make some "tweeks"...
  25. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 24, 2011 -> 01:00 PM) The chick in your avy looks like she just finished barfing up her lunch before her photoshoot. Eh...maybe in that picture, but Brooklynn Decker isn't a skinny model by any means.
