QUOTE (Brian @ Jul 12, 2009 -> 01:04 PM) Just watched the trailer for "The Hurt Locker". I really want to see this now. saw the movie about a week ago. with no knowledge on how different ranks of the armed forces operate, I'd say the movie was really good. I've read some reviews from people who were actually in the EOD and some state the situations depicted aren't possible or played out correctly....nevertheless it still is a good movie, and I liked it. 7.5/10

QUOTE (knightni @ Jul 11, 2009 -> 01:18 PM) This thread was made before the Sox won in 2005. Would you take money over the 2005 Series? lol, dunno why I asked that question when I posted it, but it made for a fun thread. -
QUOTE (Tex @ Jul 11, 2009 -> 12:09 PM) One toes every other week?? SO in 20 weeks they all have been cut once?? lol 1 time

QUOTE (Markbilliards @ Jul 11, 2009 -> 10:26 AM) So many nail biters in here...remind me never to shake your hands no kidding. the nails are the dirtiest part of the hand. clipped my nails all my life, fingers 2 times a week, and toes 1 every other week.

QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jul 6, 2009 -> 04:28 PM) Burn Notice Last episode was quite odd, but still good....good season and direction so far I think.

7/9 Game Thread Sox vs. Cleveland 1:05pm CDT CSN

Does Poreda take his place now? In his last 6 starts Richard has only gone over 5 innings twice. His ERA has gone up a full run, and he is walking a ton more batters than the beginning of the year. -
this thread and paul's offensive output recently is forcing me to put my konerko sig back up.

Dale Earnhardt got to me at 16 years old. Was big into NASCAR then, and each year I get a little more disinterested in it since he died. Can't think of anyone who would upset me today though.

QUOTE (BobDylan @ Jul 6, 2009 -> 04:06 PM) Alright, alright.... I have to ask... Do you understand that The Reader is not about the Holocaust, but instead about that boy/man? The Holocaust is a prop to the plot and that guy's emotions. Very little more. No one really cares what you have to say as long as she stays as you signature I'd rather whenever you reply, just post "Look Below".

QUOTE (TheBlackSox8 @ Jul 25, 2004 -> 04:58 PM) Guillermo mota is the guy the sox should look into...dodgers are willing to trade him for a sp or another hitter...he is an excellent set up guy so there would be no problem with him looking to close games. HA!! would've been nice at the time, but looking back thank god it never came to.

QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Jul 1, 2009 -> 03:56 PM) If it's half as good as HEAT, it should be great. I can't wait. It's at least half as good as Heat. Not as good, but it's still a really good movie.

with 15/15 you'd be forced to play the interleague games from start of the season to end of the season. There would be at least 1 team in each league with out a match-up for a series if you didn't. It could work, if you don't bulk all interleague games into one month and spread them through out the year.

He made the team as an invite out of Spring trainging, because he absolutely mashed in the minors. So McGwire/Vina(only players linked to PED's) came up to the rookie and "helped" him out? I don't buy that kind of scenario. A young player can't come into a league and dominate without suspicion?? Calvin Johnson, Adrian Peterson, Dwight Howard, Lebron James, Tim Lincecum, Miguel Cabrera

QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Jul 1, 2009 -> 11:02 PM) You realize that ST doesn't equal the major's correct. There have been a lot of guys who are ST hall of famers in the Cactus League due to the fact that breaking pitches don't have depth in the Valley. He went to the Southern League, which is a pitching rich league and faced some good prospects in a large baseball park. If he was ready based on his ST numbers, then Brian Anderson and Ryan Sweeney are headed to the hall of fame as perennial guys who rock the straight pitch in the valley. I like Gordon down in the lineup. It gives a flow through our lineup, and allows it to score consistently. For years, we have had a heavy top lineup, then nothing at the end. Let him sit at the bottom of the lineup and keep the runs a flowing. Exactly....now when guys like Konerko and AJ get on base ahead of him, there is a legit player who can drive them in. Don't have to rely on a Wise/Anderson/Fields. Beckham is a run producer period.

puke, why do i watch ATH? Why? 2 jackasses agreed with Paige that Wrigley was better than US cellular, and stated that US Cell is the worst park in baseball.

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jul 1, 2009 -> 05:12 AM) DeRosa has played 2 games. It's hard to make any kind of difference in two games. 3 games. He is 0-9 and possibly injured. I know it's early, but you gotta think that DeRosa alone wasn't gonna boost that offense.
-
Pujols with 2 more homeruns today. .332 30hr 77rbi 59r 9sb. DeRosa so far isn't making a difference, they do need another bat, because Pujols can't make the team win all by himself.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 29, 2009 -> 09:04 PM) Nice. We get good starting pitching like this and get another bat going in Beckham and Lexi of late and we surge to .500. We had too many automatic outs before. Let's keep winning. Great start to a series. Usually we lose the first one then play good ball. Was Dotel throwing meat in there since we had the lead or ? He gave up two dingers right? I didn't see it on tv. one on a 2 run homer, thornton's was the other run of the two

did we switch bullpens for half an inning?????

I noticed that 5 tracked objects to 6. That movie was f***ing horrible, and I'm saddened to say that I chipped in for that 200 million total. I wouldn't have watched it but a friend wanted to see it, and I don't hang out with him as much as I'd like to, so I went.

yeah, why was choo so far off. He was closer to 2nd the 1st....that couldn't have looked like a guaranteed hit.

QUOTE (Texsox @ Jun 29, 2009 -> 08:33 AM) Yep, about sums up my feelings. I was old enough to be in clubs in the early 80s when Jackson transformed pop and dance music. I can forgive "victimless" transgressions like drug addiction, but his transgressions surpassed those. I find it sad that people will look past child molestation if the perpetrator is famous enough or they like his work enough. And I am not looking at the thread here, but the 24/7 tributes and crying fans calling into radio stations. What they do not seem to understand what they love, is his music, not him personally. Funny because it's true....harsh language though. Michael Jackson is Dead, by Jon LaJoie - Watch more Funny Videos
