  1. QUOTE (BearSox @ Jan 11, 2009 -> 02:53 AM) Exactly what I was gonna say when I saw this thread. However, the best of both worlds would be Mauer and Quentin (if last year wasn't just an aberration). to even think that is blasphemy
  2. QUOTE (SoxFanForever @ Jan 11, 2009 -> 02:51 AM) Saw Slumdog today. It was decent. I didn't like the end however. It was good but not great. I watched that and Benjamin Button over the last few days. I loved both movies, both were really great.
  3. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jan 11, 2009 -> 01:21 AM) For entertaining me, I'd give it an 8. Eastwood has that "cowboy" role nailed down. The lone stranger thing just suits him. eh...I haven't really seen too many Eastwood films, I'd probably have a different opinion if I had.
  4. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jan 10, 2009 -> 11:35 PM) After seeing it, I completely agree with this. Not that I didn't believe you in the first place. It's all opinion anyway... I really wanted to like it a lot, but couldn't. Clint Eastwood's performance was entertaining, and there were some great lines of dialogue from his character. I give it a 6.5/10
  5. The WBC is only 2 weeks right? He'd pitch about 10 or so innings in that time during spring training anyway.
  6. quick vote to Mauer and Morneau. Younger, and both are awesome in crunch time...especially against us.
  7. So it isn't the end of the world??!!??!? I"m confused...
  8. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jan 3, 2009 -> 11:36 PM) Best Actor awesome? EDIT: I don't doubt he was awesome, as he almost always is. best actor....definitely no. I only thought the movie was decent because of his performance....without him I thought it was s***.
  9. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jan 3, 2009 -> 08:43 PM) Was Rourke mentioned at all? I knew Eastwood would get a lot of buzz, as he's Clint Eastwood. I've yet to see that movie, but I know already that it's going to be overrated, but still very good. I think it was a decent movie...But i do think overrated. Eastwood (and maybe the asian girl) were the only good performances of the film...But Eastwood was awesome.
  10. Trading Dye for Bailey-esque pitcher, and signing Orlando Hudson sound like KW moves. Trading Floyd for Roberts and trading for Jones sound nothing like KW moves. I agree with most, I'd rather try in-house options.
  11. Anybody into Psych? Show starts back up on the 9th. Anxiously waiting it's airing.
  12. QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ Jan 3, 2009 -> 01:43 AM) False. The person below me needs a vacation. False, currently unemployed I need opposite. The person below me hasn't stuck to their new year resolution.
  13. QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Jan 3, 2009 -> 09:22 AM) Wait, do you think this is like the Star Wars prequels with real people interacting with cartoon characters? I think this is the type of movie that has real backgrounds, but the entire cast and a good portion of the "set" is animated. the movie Dinosaur did that. Real locations with animated creatures. from IMDB:The backgrounds in the movie are actually superimposed(pictures over pictures, making a scene look more than it is) photos of exotic tropical locations such as Tahiti and Hawaii.
  14. my 30gb zune did screw up. I let the battery run out and plugged it back in. No problem now, though i did freak when it happened. I looked somewhere, and it said that the top three searches on google for Dec. 31 were all zune related.
  15. QUOTE (juddling @ Jan 2, 2009 -> 01:38 PM) Burn Notice starts again later this month from the promos, it looks like they were given a bigger budget for the second half of season 2.
  16. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 30, 2008 -> 01:50 PM) Anyone play little big world yet? yeah. awesome game...been trying to get trophies for stuff i missed
  17. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Dec 30, 2008 -> 11:25 AM) I don't know if it can get better than 2008 for Sony, but their line-up for 2009 is looking to give it a run. Killzone 2, The Agency, Mass Action Game, Gran Turismo 5, Uncharted 2, Final Fantasy Versus, Rachet and Clank 2, God of War 3, Infamous, and DC Universe. Wow, that is actually an amazing exclusive line-up, and should actually be able to top what Sony did in 2008. The problem with the 360 is that they can't rely on major first party titles the way Nintendo and Sony can. With all of their few 1st parties out of the way, I think it might get a little rough for them. There is also a game called Heavy Rain by Quantic Dream, which has the same concept as Indigo Prophecy on gameplay. There is a demo on how the game will look like. The demo isn't actually from the game just how it will look and feel. Heavy Rain Trailer Rockstar is making a new one too, seems to be a PS3 exclusive LA Noire by Rockstar
  18. QUOTE (dasox24 @ Dec 28, 2008 -> 01:06 AM) Reading all this stuff about the horrible winter weather the past few weeks in Chicago and other northern areas has made me finally realize I don't want to move back north when I graduate. Ever since I moved to Tennessee 10 years ago, I've always wanted to move north when I was done with college. I love snow and miss seeing it. However, I like warm weather. I don't want to have to deal with bad weather conditions for a few months out of the year. It was awesome stepping outside yesterday and having it be 73 degrees with a slight breeze. I was in shorts and a t-shirt and felt like I could stand outside forever. It was a beautiful Texas day and it made me dread the end of Christmas break and having to head back to Knoxville, where it will undoubtedly be cold (for my standards) the next 2 months. well boo hoo
  19. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Dec 26, 2008 -> 07:07 PM) Don't buy your games from GameStop. They sell their old games as "new". that really doesn't surprise me.
  20. QUOTE (Brian @ Dec 25, 2008 -> 08:44 PM) After playing with my little cousins Nintendo Wii today, I need one. I've played the wii a few times...couple good games, couple great games, and some bad ones. I've never felt the need to have one. Just my feeling though.
  21. QUOTE (knightni @ Dec 25, 2008 -> 09:10 PM) It seems that opinions vary. you'll get that with no certain date....but you can be certain Dec. 25th shouldn't be suggested. And really if you look at it from a Christian stand point....Christmas shouldn't even be celebrated....but that's another argument for another board.
  22. fyi....if you care...technically it isn't jesus' birthday
  23. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Dec 24, 2008 -> 09:38 AM) So was that you that joined me in Little Big Planet last night? Man I suck. Finally have time to play now that I'm on vacation. been trying to get my trophies for Little Big Planet, Burnout, and Uncharted.
  24. QUOTE (Sox It To Em @ Dec 23, 2008 -> 11:58 PM) If you all care about is sports games, then it really doesn't matter. MLB: The Show, which is generally considered the best baseball game on the market, is exclusive to PS3, but other than that, just about every sports game is available on both consoles. If the PS3's Blu-Ray functionality is appealing to you, go with that. If you're interested in other games, though, I recommend the Xbox 360, as it has more quality exclusives and a more polished overall library at this point in time (partly because it's been out a year longer). The PS3 has been gradually closing that gap, though, so you really can't go wrong with either. I own an Xbox 360 and Wii, and will be picking up a PS3 sometime in the future, as it's killing me not being able to play MGS4. yep....you are missing out.
  25. QUOTE (jenks45monster @ Dec 23, 2008 -> 05:22 PM) I have a question for all you gamers: XBox 360 or Playstation 3? I sold my Wii last year and I'm looking to get one of those systems. Which system is better for sports games, particularly MLB 2K9? EDIT: I'm just going to open up a poll to help me decide. the best baseball game for the new platforms IMO is MLB 08: The Show.....soon to be MLB 09: The Show....and they're only for PS3/PS2/PSP
