QUOTE(RockRaines @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 03:33 PM) Doug, With all due respect, your article on mlb.com is completely ridiculous. How can you have a poll on the pitcher with the highest velocity, and not have any of the hardest throwers in the mlb on the list. Clemens still gets it up there, but Randy Johnson hasn't seen the other side of 95 MPH the entire year. Schilling? Come on, the guy still hasn't regained his velocity, he tops out at 94. Prior isn't even the hardest throwing starter on his own team. Bartolo Colon throws harder and has better stats than almost anyone on your list this year, and yet isn't even mentioned. Velocity is an easy statistic to measure, you look at the radar gun and write down the number. Mid-low 90's is not a high velocity in today's mlb. AJ Burnett, Rich Harden, Sabathia, Peavy, Billy Wagner, Bobby Jenks (100 Mph), Kyle Farnsworth (99 mph), Johan Santana, are all much harder throwers than the names on your list. Please do your part to educate the masses who read your very popular website on the actual players in the MLB, and not just the most popular names. has he replied??

QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 11:17 AM) Perez Uribe Carl Kong AJ JD Aaron Blum 2B Crede Ford Punto Mauer Morono Fat Ryan Cruddyer Tiffee Bartlett atop the lineup again for Timo .....then uribe. I don't see Carl batting with anyone on base.....let's hope that Uribe and Timo can get some hits....i mean they do have a batting average...meaning they do get hits during some series of games. -
QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 10:55 AM) The WSox have comfortable leads over both CLE & Minn. WSox 75-47 (39+1 to play) Indin 70-56 (36 to play) Twins 67-58 (37 to play) Let me put this in perspective for you. If the White Sox were to play as poorly as COL (.376) the rest of the way they would still finish with 90 wins. To catch the WSox the Indians (.555) would need to play .611 ball the rest of the way. To catch the WSox the Twins (.536) would need to play .675 ball the rest of the way. The best record in MLB is .627 & the 2nd best record in MLB is .615. well when you look at it that way.... I do feel comfortable with this lead....I would've loved to have a 1 game lead in august back in april....but a 8 game lead....Hell yeah. I still think the Sox can finish this season with a double digit lead.

QUOTE(Brian @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 10:53 AM) Can't find lineups yet, but found this in game notes. OF Timo Perez is 10-for-16 (.625) with a homer and seven RBIs in his career against RHP Silva. would you still start him at leadoff? I'd start him...but he'd be down with Crede and Uribe. -
QUOTE(GoSox05 @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 10:38 AM) im not sure he throws hard enough to be a closer. Jenks???

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Aug 16, 2005 -> 11:09 AM) PLease please please dont let Timo lead off again. one of ozzie's worst decisions this year....and lets hope he learns from that

QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Aug 16, 2005 -> 12:20 PM) Anyone else notice that that since he hit the triple off Rivera in NY, Juan Uribe is really starting to stroke it at the plate? He's laying off the low and away breaking ball that was his nemesis. He's working the count and fouling off a ton of pitches. And when he does make contact he's absolutely belting the ball. He's 6 for 14 (.428) since that triple. Man...if he gets going that would be huge! He's had quite a few streaks this season....but he always winds up going back down to .240 in average. I don't know....I hope he is getting out of it.

I'd say Buehrle or Rowand

QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Aug 16, 2005 -> 11:39 AM) I would do 4 for 1 if the Reds were willing to pick up 15 million dollars on KGJ contract. If the number is less than that, then I wouldnt give up that many prospects. Agreed....any deal with us giving 4-1 has to give us some relief on the guys salary.

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Aug 15, 2005 -> 10:35 PM) You might want to trim around it. done....

QUOTE(wsox08 @ Aug 13, 2005 -> 02:24 AM) Neal Cotts Am I getting any better? when a pic is cutoff at the legs or something....try not to put it in the middle of the pic.....unless you feather or blend to the back ground. Usually when a pic is cutoff it's usually on the bottom of the pic so the cutoff isn't noticable.

QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Aug 13, 2005 -> 04:57 AM) I keep mine at my thighs...I think. Hell I don't know. I don't think you really pay attention to where you pull them down to unless your wallet falls into the toilet...cuz then, you know, you have to tell people how the hell your wallet fell into the toilet. i put mine at my thighs too....

QUOTE(GASHWOUND @ Aug 12, 2005 -> 06:17 PM) Jeez, i got my balls busted the other day by my buddies cause I bought Season 1 of the Thundercats...Uhh, is that weird? Yeah.....I was waiting for it to come out and bought it on July 26th i think....It's not as good as his Harmful if Swallowed CD...but it does have it's moments. They have a preview of the Tourgasm on the DVD section.....I have no clue what the hell that is going to be, but if the Tourgasm comes out on DVD I'll probably get that....it looks hilarious.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Aug 12, 2005 -> 09:52 AM) There are now warnings of another attack on September 11th http://www.nytimes.com/2005/08/12/national...agewanted=print There have been 3 other anniversaries of September 11th.....and nothing happened then.....Why a 4 year interval?...Does it take them 4 years to devise this plan?....why not a 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 year interval?

QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Aug 10, 2005 -> 06:51 PM) According to a good friend of mine...who happens to be a die-hard Cards fan, says the Cards are interested in him because of their injuries to Sanders and Walker. Would the Reds want Griffey going to the Cardinals for 3 seasons??? I wouldn't think so....but if they get the right deal in their mind..feel free.

It gives me hope when the three non-impressive(this year) pitchers on the Sox staff can hold the Yankees offense to 5 runs in 3 games.

QUOTE(Iwritecode @ Aug 8, 2005 -> 11:58 AM) I've hit a couple of birds before but I was only going 55MPH when it happened. One time I had one fly in front of my car and then I didn't see it again so I assumed it had flown away. When I got home I found it in the grill of my car... I've also hit a deer, a cow, some squirrels, a large USPS mailbox, a few buildings... There was one week I hit 3 birds....at night the bird flew in front of my van and hit the antenna.....then I was traveling home on the interstate and instead of flying to the left where there was nothing, the bird flew right in front of me striking the antenna then....then a few days later I was travelling about 70 MPH on a back road...there were about three or four birds in the middle of the road....well you get the idea....2 of the birds didn't have a chance.
