  1. Robin Ventura should have retired here too. But we let him go and we've paid for it since. Let's not make the same mistake with Frank.
  2. It was not a HR. It was outside the net. How do I know this with 100% certainty? Because the ump said it was not a HR. Where's Richard Simmons?
  3. QUOTE(Cerbaho-WG @ May 23, 2005 -> 06:25 PM) I agree with another option at 1B for 2006. With Kendry Morales finally coming stateside, I'd push for Kotchman. In many a interview he's spoken on behalf of the team. What the hell do we need Kotchman for? Have you seen Casey Rogowski? I give our own guy a shot before I go get Kotchman. I had a whole year to watch him play at Cedar Rapids. Color me unimpressed.
  4. Jenks has looked very good this spring. That said, he is not ready for the Show. This kid has had problems, the last thing we need to do is turn him into the next Kyle Farnsworth. Leave him where he's at, Bajenaru and Munoz are ahead of him on the depth chart, not to mention Adkins.
  5. QUOTE(Southside hitmen @ May 23, 2005 -> 04:28 PM) Take away the Cleveland game and the wind blown home run. Viz era is not that bad.... Sure he isnt the greatest reliever im just saying to cry about yesterdays performance is dumb... Geez, look at his game-by-game breakdown. He gives up runs over half the time he's in a game. Luisa blows. He should not have been the one brought in if BMac had to come out (I have no problem with Guillen's call to remove him, just his s***ty choice of reliever)
  6. As soon as Trusty Dusty can explain how it's different from the hidden ball trick or the fake-to-third-throw-to-first move BlackJack used to have, I'll listen. It's called deception. Lee should be paying no attention to Uribe. Lee: "Excuse me Juan, was that ball fair or foul?" Uribe: "It was foul Derek." Lee: "Thank you for telling me Juan, you're a kind sportsman indeed." :puke Pay attention to your damn coaches! You learn that much in Little League.
  7. A topic titled "Holy s***"...... Doesn't this belong in the Politics/Religion forum?
  8. Lidge makes much more sense, but I cannot see Astros trading him BECAUSE he isn't FA until 2008.
  9. Luisa needs to be shuttled for Bajenaru. I can't believe Guillen entrusted BMac's game to his worthlessness.
  10. Exactly. You're mistaking the seams for the fence.
  11. I was just thinking the same thing this morning. Get AJP locked up before the end of the season.
  12. Well, Boston did win the World Series after trading Nomah.....karma? OK, raise your hand if you're confident Dye and Konerko have fully regained their presence at the plate.... Yeah, me too. Worry about Frank's contract status after we're ordering our rings...
  13. Zambrano would be a Cy Young pitcher if he didn't have a ten cent head. Wouldn't worry about it, he hits one guy the ump will toss him. Then we get their bullpen and it's open season.
  14. Wagner isn't coming here. Where's that Richard Simmons picture?
  15. Today. Wind is supposed to be blowing out tomorrow. That isn't the environment I want B-Mac in. I want him to have every advantage we can give him.
  16. Well hey, B-Mac isn't ready yet, he got beat his last outing, we should be promoting Diaz instead...... Wait, how do I do green?....
  17. I guess we have our answer..
  18. No harm in talking about it. Personally I think the thread discussing a Chavez trade is gay, but hey, it's supposed to be a FORUM FOR DISCUSSION.
  19. Castilla would be a downgrade at 3B for more money.
  20. QUOTE(Southside hitmen @ May 19, 2005 -> 02:59 PM) I would put Rowand over Patterson other than that it sounds about right Agree with this. Patterson Ks too much and isn't as good defensively, IMO.
  21. Rogowski is in line for Kong's job. Fields is staying at 3B. No way we're trading for Chavez, his contract is too hefty, and Beane is not going to eat enough to make it fit within our budget. Remember, we also have to pay Garland after this year. That isn't going to be cheap.
  22. Oh, I have no doubt about that. My post was in response to their suggesting one of that group could be traded for a backup C. Besides, they might be a little gun-shy about trading with us after all the success they've had with the last group they got from us.
  23. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ May 17, 2005 -> 11:50 PM) Unless we do a Dye for Sweeney deal, with KC kicking in cash I would never do it. Sweeney is an injury waiting to happen, with an albatross of a contract. Sounds like the Cubs could be interested then.
  24. I'd be happy to take Villone off their hands for Burke.
  25. KC won't trade him within the division.
