QUOTE (lostfan @ Jan 24, 2011 -> 08:38 PM) My FB status this morning: i think I would pay to see someone knock Oney Guillen clean the f*** out. I'm not actually trying to encouage violence against him, I'm just saying. A lot of people would love to see that happen. This whole line of reasoning is insane. You are encouraging violence, and when it happens (because it's inevitable that someone does punch this douche), I'm blaming you because of your violent rhetoric. Lostfan=Male member of Palin family.

QUOTE (LVSoxFan @ Jan 24, 2011 -> 03:01 PM) Everafan just posted of being right there and seeing the whole thing and that the heckler deserved it so I'm unclear what the controversy here is. I don't think anybody agrees that Oney's a tool, but I'm not sure why this incident is being used to indict Ozzie. You don't? I'm pretty sure EVERYONE thinks Oney's a f***ing tool, because he is.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jan 24, 2011 -> 03:43 PM) Good catch. Lovie didn't do anything to help Jay by referring to it as a sprain instead of a tear. Most people don't associate significant injuries with sprains or strains, even though a Grade II can be bad and a Grade III sprain can be devastating. I maintain this was all Lovie and his penchant for hiding the truth about injuries to "fool" the opposing team. Now that they're getting serious backlash because of it, they're pretending they did nothing wrong, as they usually do. If Lovie had properly reported this injury from the start, instead of trying to play psychological warfare with the Packers (which never works anyway), none of this would be happening right now. -

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jan 24, 2011 -> 03:38 PM) A sprain is a tear. Sometimes it's just a stretch without tearing, but that's why there are different grades. -

QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Jan 24, 2011 -> 02:53 PM) Same here. Last night I was furious at Cutler and a lot of it was alcohol and/or being upset about the loss. Today I am taking a step back and am trying to get as much info as I can and hoping that whats the Bears are saying is true. Its a weird feeling hoping your franchise qb is hurt so you dont lose your respect/faith in them as a fan. Unfortunately IMO, and I know its only my opinion, I think he could have played and I think if he told the coaches he was good to go they would have kept him in. Im not quick to forget the great year he had and how much he helped the Bears get to the NFC Championship and I will be rooting for him next year without question. That doesnt make me a "meatball" for being disappointed. Thunderlips disagrees. -

QUOTE (daa84 @ Jan 24, 2011 -> 02:42 PM) its irrelevant because lovie was the one who made the decision to pull cutler, unless you believe that lovie is covering for jay. Not to mention, once the decision to use hanie instead of collins was made, by rule cutler couldn't return, even if he felt ok to come back in. Cutler said he wanted to go. what more do we need? I guess are we supposed to see a shot of him screaming at Lovie to get put back in? My honest opinion is that Lovie threw Jay under the bus with his typical and always retarded vagueness when it comes to telling people nothing while speaking for 20 minutes at a time. Lovie should have properly reported Jay as OUT, not questionable, which is what he did. I believe Lovie in particular, who has a HISTORY of this sort of thing, reported he was questionable so the Packers would have to "think" that Cutler could come back into the game at any time...because in Lovies mind, this gives his team an edge. A guys arm can get ripped off, and Lovie will say in the press conference that as far as he knows, that guy will be playing this weekend, and their medical staff will have to evaluate reattaching the missing limb. That's my honest opinion of what happened. Lovie purposefully MISrepresented the injury yesterday during the game for some sort of psychological edge, and the report that came across as "questionable", which means 50% chance of returning, planted the seeds of doubt in the fans minds...and this is the backlash of him doing so. -

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jan 24, 2011 -> 02:38 PM) Why doesn't the MRI sound good for the "yeah, he really was injured" group? It confirms that he was injured. We don't know the degree yet. Because they were claiming it was a full tear, and it was a partial tear. Many others players have played through partial tears in far less important games. -

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jan 24, 2011 -> 02:29 PM) Were you at the game watching him on the sidelines the entire time? I heard reporters on the sideline report this morning that they saw him working with Hanie on several occasions. I was at the game, I'm related to everyone on the Bears. So yes. I was there. And he didn't help. -

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jan 24, 2011 -> 02:27 PM) It's hard to gauge Cutler's overall sideline demeanor in terms of talking to Hanie, talking to coaches, trying to help out, interest in the game, etc based on what we saw on camera, because they only can show Jay so much over there, especially when he's hurt. The bigger issue here is several quick snapshots of him over there not looking very hurt, and the reports we have on just how much/what kind of medical treatment he was receiving. That's something you can read into moreso IMO. I saw Any Given Sunday, and Willie Beamen helped Cap Rooney more in that one half of football than Cutler helped backups his entire career. Willie had the big headset on, was doing hand signals, and reviewing snapshots with Dennis Quaid CONSTANTLY, in practically every camera shot...Cutler did none of this! :D -

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jan 24, 2011 -> 02:24 PM) That's not how it works. What reason do I have to doubt Hanie, aside from meatball incredulity and the desire to call Cutler a p****? I don't think Cutler is a p****. I think hes a mope, and did as little as possible to help after he was out of the game. That's my observation...because you disagree with it doesn't make me wrong. -

QUOTE (iamshack @ Jan 24, 2011 -> 02:23 PM) It's stupid why? I'm not questioning his ability to take a whipping, I'm questioning his ability to stay mentally strong. We've seen many cases of him breaking down this year because of the pressure. I'm just going off of what I saw and what nearly everyone else was questioning, including people that know him, people that have played against him, etc. HEY, YOU CAN'T QUESTION CUTLER OR YOU'RE A MEATBALL FAN!@#$@! DON'T YOU KNOW THAT?#@!$ -

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jan 24, 2011 -> 02:22 PM) Oh ok. We've got one of the QB's giving him credit, but since you didn't see it on TV, it must be bulls***! And since you didn't see it on TV, and one of his teammates made up an excuse for him, it must be true! I can do that, too. -

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jan 24, 2011 -> 02:18 PM) I thought Hanie credited Cutler with helping him keep his nerves in check? I can credit you for keeping my nerves in check, too...but did you? Every shot I saw of cutler on the sidelines he did none of those things. He was riding a bike. Talking to trainers. Sitting on a bench with his coat on. Sitting on the bench with his coat on with headphones on. Walking around. Sitting on the bench again. Granted the cameras weren't on him for 30 minutes, but every time they were, he wasn't talking to the backups, he wasn't doing anything. So I'm not buying it. -

QUOTE (G&T @ Jan 24, 2011 -> 01:46 PM) Is that a joke? No, because he didn't. Never saw him on the sidelines talking to either backup, never saw him reviewing pictures with them, or micing himself up and wearing a headset to assist like every other #1 QB that goes down does. I also don't care and at this point I'm just stirring the pot. -
QUOTE (jasonxctf @ Jan 24, 2011 -> 02:01 PM) The laws, the law, but common sense tells me that if you are requested to serve by the President of the United States, you shouldn't lose your "residency". Frankly this would prohibit any US Military Service personnel, from coming back from Iraq/Afghanistan and running for US Congress. What about someone who, like a Gabby Giffords, is being moved to Texas for medical reasons and may be there for 1-2 years. If she lived in Chicago, under the current law, could she not run for office again? Sure you should. Losing citizenship and losing local residency isn't NEARLY the same thing and shouldn't be compared. He didn't HAVE to accept the position with the President knowing it would take him out of the City, and when he accepted it he had to know it would remove his Chicago resident status. He accepting it knowing that and understanding that, considering hes a politician and they know these things. He took it because he didn't know Daley was going to leave, and when Daley announced it suddenly he wanted to come back. The sacrifice of staying is part of the entire risk/reward of the process. That said, I think he'll find a way to become eligible.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jan 24, 2011 -> 12:03 PM) Can't be a market bubble if they don't have stock, which they don't (yet). Groupon and Facebook can't cause a bubble when they aren't in the room. Furthermore, they are both in far better financial shape than a lot of the bubble causing companies were back in the Tech Wreck days of 1998-2000. I never said it was a bubble in the Y2K sense, someone else did. I merely agreed that these privately held companies are already showing signs of massive overvalue.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 24, 2011 -> 01:40 PM) Oh, he's a back-tracker. Don't act like you knew a strain was a tear. The titanic was sinking and the captain decided to sit and watch...and he didn't even try to help his backups. Say what you will about Favre, you sissified sob's, but he'd have fought to go down with the ship himself, oh, and he would have stayed out there with 50 completely torn ligaments. -
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jan 24, 2011 -> 11:07 AM) Somehow I feel a tech bubble burst (Round 2) in the horizon when reading about Groupon, Facebook, etc. I agree, these companies, although profitable, are way overvalued. Their predicted P/E ratios have to be 50+, which is absurd valuation.
