  1. Meh. Whiners. If you don't want to read a thread, don't click on it. Wow...that's hard.
  2. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Mar 14, 2007 -> 11:32 AM) there's a 3 page thread on this in the old sports pub... That three page thread has nothing to do with MY franchise. This one was specifically about ME. And now there is a 1/2 page thread on it here. What's with everyone and their 'this thread already exists' nonsense? It's a message board. So what. Some of us don't have the time to read through every single sub-section of this board and just want to post/discuss things.
  3. QUOTE(Capn12 @ Mar 14, 2007 -> 09:21 AM) Problem is, even in a good year, Pods can't hold BA's jockstrap in terms of defense. I'd rather trot Erstad out there in LF everyday, have Mack rotate in LF when Erstad is hurt or needs a day off, and leave the other 2 OF slots alone with BA and Dye. I love how everyone just assumes Erstad is going to get hurt again. Didn't everyone in baseball just assume Dye would keep getting hurt, too?! How soon we forget that the only reason we picked up Dye for such a bargin price is because everyone just assumed he'd get injured again. Instead...KW walked away laughing with the best/cheapest free agent signing of the last five years, IMO. Oh, and he helped us win a title.
  4. It's because it will be billed as an East versus West matchup. The intro screen will be two boxing gloves that come together and cause an explo... Wait...I think that's been done before, but it didn't involve Japan. Oh, and for the record, I really hope Dice-K in Boston is the biggest, most expensive bust in history -- not sure why...but Boston annoyed me with all the cash the dumped on a guy that's never pitched in the majors. That, combined with the mega-hype surrounding him and his non-existant "gyroball", that guy just irks me...and I was happy to see him get smashed last week.
  5. QUOTE(ScottyDo @ Mar 14, 2007 -> 09:05 AM) The royals are second in my game too! they play ridiculous defense too. DeJesus robbed me of like 5 home runs in the same game. He's a jerk. Also, the Indians are in last place as well! are video game results accurate predictors of the future? one can only hope. and, unfortunately, i can't even replace anderson with erstad because erstad sucks just as hardcore. it's a bad situation in CF in 2K7land Yes, I'm having the same problem in CF. I don't like playing Mack-o-wack there, because his defense (he's very slow moving in the outfield), so I've kind of been playing the matchup in CF. I was actually thinking of going to the Phillies for Rowand tonight...but I'm not sure yet...
  6. As one of Pods biggest fans, horray! If he can bounce back to 2005 or 2003 levels, as the uneven year says he should -- all is well. Every uneven year, Pods does well. 2003 - did good. 2004 - tanked. 2005 - did good. 2006 - tanked. 2007 - ? to all who love pods. to all who love Brian "I think I'm the second coming" Anderson.
  7. I'm happy to report that as franchise owner/manager/player of the Chicago White Sox -- our beloved Sox are in first place after 37 games, 3.5 games into first place. This is after playing 33% of the games, managing 33% of the games, and simming ~34% of the games...to keep a bit of randomness involved(decided by player stats) and computer control. Suprisingly, the Kansas City Royals are in second, with the Tigers a close third. As Owner/GM, I don't expect the Royals to hang much longer and I'm expecting the Indians to turn things around. I temporarily lost Garland to a severe blister on his throwing hand, which cost me two starts out of him, and Jenks due to shoulder tightness for 5 days...but all is well again. The Indians are in dead last, however...but the entire division is tight. Interesting point of note. Even in the game, Brian Anderson SUCKS and can't hit a lick. Pods is having a bounceback season...prooving all of you losers wrong. ...wait. It's only a game.
  8. Put me in the center of the Brian Anderson haters club. I've been annoyed with this guy since the day he arrived as if he were the second coming of Andruw Jones. He's prooven nothing other than the fact that he's not, nor will he ever be Andruw Jones. Rowand is no better, but at least he helped bring us a world title...so for that alone, Rowand gets the get out of jail free from me. Anderson gets bubkis, because he's done bubkis while talking as if he were the MVP of MVP's. Anderson will suck until he prooves otherwise. Right now, as far as I'm concerned, he can hammer minor league pitching with good defense, but in the majors, he looks flat out afraid at the plate -- with good defense. And I don't care about his spring training performance, either...he did the same last year and was a black hole in our lineup. Rowand has also shown that he'd kill himself to make a play/win a game. Anderson's prooven he can go out and drink with the "honeys" while batting .130 with 2HR. Meh. And I'll be the first to eat crow, as they say, if Anderson can proove me wrong. Because I want nothing more for Anderson to be AWESOME, and help this team make the post season.
  9. QUOTE(ScottyDo @ Mar 9, 2007 -> 02:29 PM) woohoo, garland! i think he's gonna bust out another season akin to 2005 this year GG.
  10. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Mar 9, 2007 -> 02:51 PM) I've seen this story before: Sox play Arizona, Arizona kicks our ass, Arizona wins. Update your McCrappy pitching stats line, plz.
  11. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Mar 8, 2007 -> 03:37 PM) either did Erstad as he got caught stealing. MMAC in to pitch. Joe Boarchard would have been safe.
  12. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Mar 8, 2007 -> 03:30 PM) Again. Gameday is inaccurate. But he did walk 4 people. And he looks like the kid from 3rd Rock from the Sun...just old.
  13. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Mar 8, 2007 -> 03:29 PM) Top 4TH B:0 S:0 O:2 Cole Armstrong grounds into double play, first baseman Joe Koshansky to shortstop Troy Tulowitzki to first baseman Joe Koshansky. A. Pierzynski scores. Jerry Owens out at 2nd. Leave it to a n00b to GIDP against gascan.
  14. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Mar 8, 2007 -> 03:28 PM) So what you're saying is since you share the same skillset as Peter Pan, we wasted almost $3M because we could have just signed you. Well. Yes.
  15. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Mar 8, 2007 -> 03:25 PM) Even with all of the world series stuff...I still don't know if there was a moment I am more a fan of than Joe Crede vs. David Riske. I don't think any of the other moments even happen without that swing. I was there for that, too.
  16. Hahaha, the Rockies put gas can on the mound. At least I think that's his name.
  17. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Mar 8, 2007 -> 03:24 PM) Crede's double in that game was beyond awesome. That whole inning in fact - AJ going to 1st on the K, Ozuna stealing 2nd, and Crede's double - best inning ever. I tihnk we can all agree that was the bestest world series EVER. EVER EVER EVER. All of it...including Pods.
  18. QUOTE(fathom @ Mar 8, 2007 -> 03:22 PM) PK's homer was the turning point in that whole series. I can honestly say Konerko's homer was my favorite sports memory ever. I loved the Konerko homer -- but I have to admit, Pods was far more dramatic -- obviously. Pods is also my favorite baseball player because he's not a bloated up 6 thousand foot tall home run power hitter. And he's fast. I'm a small guy who liked to steal bases and slap hit in my baseball days -- so people like Pods rule.
  19. Crede and his CONSTANT errors and popups annoy me. Forget his .500 average. Forget this team. Were gonna be in last place all year.
  20. QUOTE(bigruss22 @ Mar 8, 2007 -> 03:10 PM) How about this? i moved from chicago and they win the world series 2 years after, i barely see any games now If you buy DirecTV now, and the MLB package which is exclusive to them -- you can watch all the games. That is unless you've become a Cub fan, which is a possibility with the way you're talking...saying stuff like I barely see any White Sox games around here is a mortal sin.

  23. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Mar 8, 2007 -> 02:56 PM) credepopsup That damn credepopsup rearing his ugly head again. Him and his .500 average really irk me.
