Why should I care about Chris Young? We have other minor league pospects rated higher than Young who can be our "next centerfielder for 10 years". By the way, that "next centerfielder for the next 10 years" thing is a pipe dream. You can't just assume your going to sign someone for 10 years, especially if they become a player worth anything in the majors, as a matter of fact, I guarantee that doesn't happen. We are absolutly loaded with outfielders in the minors.

I like it too, since McCarthy can be put into long relief now and get some consistancy going at the major league level, easily replacing Vizciano and/or El Duque. Cooper obviously thinks he can turn Vazquez around...and I think he can, too. I've seen what Vazquez has, and it's great stuff, however he's inconsistant like Contreras was before last year. With how many outfield "prospects" we have in the minors, I can care less about Chris Young...we have better available to us that are more major league ready anyway. Aside from El Duques early season success (which was an anonomly, considering how high his WHIP was), and his post-season success (which was amazing), he was pretty bad during the regular season. My only concern is the high price of Vazquez...he's due about 24M over the next two years, so unless the Diamonbacks pay some of his salary, I would consider this a wash, however, if the DBacks pay some of his salary, we got the better end of this.

It was pretty good. It could have been better (with more production time, I'm sure), but it was fun. They gave a copy of the DVD to everyone in attandance, too...so I'll get to watch it again. I think at critical moments, like the Crede home run off Cleveland, the Duque magic act in game 3 of the ALDS, and the Podsednik walk off in game 2 of the WS they could have slowed the action and built the drama a bit more (on the dvd), but like I said, that has to do with hurried production values...they rushed this out of the gate, but I'm sure someday we may see a very good version of this.

I think I could find it in my heart to boo Frank if he wore a Twins or Indians uniform. Easily. Yes...I do believe I could. I'll tip my cap to Frank for the time he spent with the White Sox, but that history isn't all peaches, either...there is a lot I've already forgiven him for. That said, if he joins those teams, he's no longer with us...by choice or not...therefore he gets booed from this time forward. Thank you Frank, for all the memories. But as Hawk might say, he gone. And good riddance. Good management knows when to let go. And it's time to let go.

I don't know why we want to remove Iguchi out of the two spot (not sure if he requested this or not, but as a team I say too bad). He was exceptional in the 2 hole, moving runners over, sacraficing himself, and hitting when necessary. I thought he worked rather fantastically in the 2 hole, and one thing teams lack are top of the order hitters that know what they're doing. We find it, and now we wanna break it up?! I'm sorry, but Iguchi isn't a #3 hitter in the states. I like our order as is, #1-6 should be left alone. I mean...WOW, I don't even know why this is being discussed. We have a 2 spot hitter most teams would kill for, and here we are discussing moving him elsewhere, and potentially screwing him up good. I vote leave him #2.

For the record, I got this working, audio and video... There is a great codec collection out there called the K-Lite Codec Pack, which includes a "lite" version of the cumbersome Windows Media Player. This is not spyware, but a good collection of the most common and uncommonly used audio/video codecs. K-Lite Codec Pack Download the STANDARD version, 2.54. Full version is only for those who wish to use codecs to create rather than just view. Easy install, no rebooting required. Works like a charm. And for the record, this is safe to install. I'm not only a 10 year network security engineer specializing in firewalls/intrusion prevention, but a registered CISSP. In computer-geek talk, that means you can trust me when it comes to this. Also...as another added bonus, for those of you who did not get this video and want it, you can PM me, and I can get it to you later this evening when I get home.

I honestly don't know why defered money is such a big deal. If I was making that much, as in millions per year, and they wanted to defer some of it until later in life, I'd let them...JUST IN CASE, especially if I was a dumbass that couldn't handle his own money and needed to hire accountants to do it for me. That would be like making about 10M per year NOW...and then, after you're retired and unable to play baseball anymore...them still paying you a few million per year to sit on your proverbial ASS and do nothing. Now, don't get me wrong, as defered money is not a great deal for those who have financial control, as it lets the owner collect interest on said money, however, sports players arent usually the great financial geniuses of our time, as a lot of them end up dead broke in the future. At least this way they can say I still have a future...rather than finding them pumping gas or working at a diner 25 years later and breaking my heart.

I think the Sox should go the team route. This entire post season was a TEAM effort. Every day it was a different hero.
