Who cares, we won, we regain a game in the standings.

I knew you would be here. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Aug 24, 2005 -> 11:30 AM)

Last night, I lost my cool...came on this board and ranted against my beloved White Sox. My loyalty was tested..no, it was beyond tested...it was pushed to it's limit. The sky is falling. Doomsday approaches and it's 7 and 9.5 games behind us, respectivly. Panic. What do we do? Beg for Griffey?! Tell Greg Walker to listen to his own advice and STOP our hitters from swinging for the fences...or ASK our hitters to stop?! We were never this bad...we weren't a great offense, but we were never this bad. So what's the deal?! Maybe I should put down this kool-aid...nah, let me take a drink... Ozzie claimed Iguchi was our MVP. Wrong answer. Podsednik is our MVP, and if there was any doubt about it before, there is none now. For some reason Pods makes this offense work...and without him, it falters on almost every level. I hold out hope knowing the superhero Scott Podsednik's return is just around the corner. Save us, Scott. You're our only hope. Oh, and about my ranting and raving last night, I apologize...I can't abondon this team, not ever...even if we never win. Here is too a little optimism...

I disagree, the Sox need fans exactly like him. Fans that demand success, rather than living with mediocrity. The Cub fans live with mediocrity, and show up regardless, what incentive do the owners have to improve the team? For years Reinsdorf said he would do something if the fans showed up...well, we've shown up, and they responded by getting us Geoff Blum rather than the bat we needed, which everyone could see we needed, especially after the loss of Thomas. This team still has a great chance to win the division (they SHOULD NOT be able to lose it), but out chances of winning in the post season...I just don't see it. QUOTE(the People's Champ @ Aug 24, 2005 -> 04:16 AM) Do everyone a favor and go root for the Yankees. The Sox don't need fans like you

Where was I in 1983 when the Winnin' Ugly So...err, who CARES. This isn't two months ago when Buehrles ERA was 2.50, it's hovering over 3 now, because in his last few starts, he's given up 200,000 hits and 100 runs. It goes to show you how a huge division lead can take the wind out of a teams sails...this team isn't gutless or bad, they're content, which is obvious by the way EVERY one of them is swinging for the fences in EVERY AT BAT. Now that it's gone from a joke to serious, they need to switch back to doing things right, and manufacturing runs without the long ball. Oh, and if there was any question Ozzie...Iguchi isn't this teams MVP, Podsednik is. Without him, we are weak. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Aug 24, 2005 -> 12:44 AM) :headshake Where were you when Buehrle's ERA was hovering around 2.50?

THANK YOU. QUOTE(Queen Prawn @ Aug 23, 2005 -> 08:58 PM) I may only be turning 29 in a few months , but I can't take this feeling the pain of each loss anymore. It's been what, 88 years (don't know if my math is still with me) since this team won a WS and 46 years since they stepped foot into "The Game." I understand now why my mom (56 yrs old and a fan since birth) had to take a step back a few years ago. This s*** hurts too damned much and it gets infuriating after awhile as well.

I don't have to be a blind idiot leading the blind to be a "Sox" fan. I know, deep down, no matter what I said I'll be a fan of this team (even if they make me cry like tonight), but it doesn't mean I have to drink the kool-aid and think they are they best team EVER every night. Tonight they got spanked in the worst way. Losing 1-0 in a 1 hitter is worse than losing 10-0 in a 20 hitter, at least to me. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Aug 23, 2005 -> 08:56 PM) You sure as f*** don't sound like a fan to me. I don't give a s*** how old you are.
-
You were born in 1987, no wonder you can still take this futility and not mind... Give it another 12 years, like I have on you, and then perhaps you'll start getting SO sick of losses like this one (a 1 hitter loss) that you'll want to puke for 8 hours and then go to work in the morning hung over on SOX suckage. =D Like I said, I reserve the right to take all this back in the morning...this is why you shouldn't drink, kids. And go to sleep, it's past your bedtime. QUOTE(Y2HH @ Aug 23, 2005 -> 08:54 PM) Seriusly, dude, you know nothing. I'm 30. I've lived in Bridgeport for 30 years...and I'm just tired of this. I admit, I'm a bit drunk right now so I'm just burning from this 1 hitter BULLs*** loss..and I know I'll take all this back tomorrow morning... (it's taking me forever to spellcheck this), but this is just...I don't even have the words for it...I can't take it... But don't tell me to get off your bandwagon..what are you, 18? YOU'RE on MY bandwagon, son. I've been a fan before you were born. K---BYE. Oh, and...if you do happen to be older than me, I apologize for being on your bandwagon, but I doubt it.

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Aug 23, 2005 -> 08:51 PM) Dude, have fun. I seriously don't want you claiming to be a Sox fan. GET THE f*** OFF MY BANDWAGON. I'll continue to be a "loser sox fan" for the rest of my life, it doesn't mean I'm a blind f*** that doesnt' see obvious holes in my favorite team, it means they are my favorite team I hate them right now but tomorrow night I'll be cheering for them again. If they blow it I'll be f***ing pissed and b**** and moan but I'm not just going to quit being a fan. That's just f***ing stupid. You f***ing make me sick.
-
You may be right, but f*** this. You may not agree, but I believe I deserve more than this. The Twins are a 50M team. We are better than them. We spend 75M to lose to them...BAD...EVERY SINGLE YEAR. Enjoy it. And to the other guy who said that's just sad...good for you, enjoy being a Cub fan...err I mean a loser Sox fan the rest of your life. Like I said, the ONLY way I take any of this back is if this team prooves to me they DESERVE ME as a fan...they win this division. I don't care if they get swept out of the playoffs, but they need to win the division for me now. I've been there through everything with this team, now they need to do what should be easy to do to keep me around, and win a few games a take this division... Maybe I'm just a little drunk and mad...but this makes me sick. Period. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Aug 23, 2005 -> 08:40 PM) That's just pathetic.
-
I'm absolutly ashamed to the point that I actually wished I wasn't a White Sox fan tonight. I'm sick. I'm finished. If this team doesn't make the playoffs, it's over...I will never cheer this team again. I know I'm spewing garbage, I know I'm spewing hate...but I deserve more than this...we all do. Griffey was what we needed...but didn't get, and will not get...and this is what we have instead. It's over. The Indians are the AL Central Champions...and we are the ultimate losers. If this team doesn't win this division, they just lost a fan. And yes, I realize you kool aid drinking Sox smarks will disagree with me, but I no longer care...I can't take it anymore. This is the worst display in the history of sports. A 1 hitter loss. f*** these overpaid b****es. The only way I take any of this back is if we actually win this division...which I no longer see happening.
-
I know this has been discussed and discussed some more...but unlike many other threads, this one is a bit more positive... I know, I know...the sky is falling...the sky is falling. We've been waiting for this slump all season long...every team goes through it, and up until now, we had not. It was bound to happen, no matter how much we did not want it to happen... Look at this way...better now than at the end of September. Besides, as of late, Ozzie is flooding our lineup with 'B' teamers, getting some of our starters rest for the end of season run...this is the worst month to play baseball...the dog days of August, as they call them. And...even with all this losing, we are 30 games above 500. 30. I haven't posted here in about three weeks...everyone needs a break from time to time...but now that I'm back, the winning may commence. -y2
-
If he can, he cant...if not, who cares, honestly...this team was better before Thomas' arrival. We have holes, sure...but everyone else does, too. We have the best starting pitching in the AL, nobody else even comes close, nobody else has a solid #1-2, let alone a solid 1-3 and El Duque for backup...nobody has anything NEAR that. We have a bit weaker of an offense compared to others, but if they execute, that will not matter.
-
Never thought I'd say this...but I'd rather have Everett out there than Thomas. Everett has come up with some big hits for us and has a lot of RBI's. Now at least the weight of having to share time is off of Everetts mind.
-
I'm a little concerned that Oz blew through the entire pen now...whos left, the kid?! Really good pen management when the game is tied in extra innings...use them all up.
-
Nah, that was all BAD pitch selection. It went something like this...to one of the most prolific hitters in the league. Fastball. Fastball. Fastball. Fastball. Uh...yeah, that'll fool him. Politte is fine, they just have to stop with the constant fastball calls. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 27, 2005 -> 03:02 PM) Is anybody else getting worried about Politte? He's not been good at all recently.
-
They haven't been...after that, I've never seen so many errors. I bet our defensive numbers since that series have fallen sharply. Lately, I've never seen so many botched routine plays that lead to HUGE innings against us. QUOTE(soxman352000 @ Jul 27, 2005 -> 02:50 PM) This team just hasn't been the same since they were swept by oakland
-
I know, from now on when the team plays poorly, I'll act like they didn't, and say everything is going great. I mean, honestly, I love losing to Kansas City...
-
Yea well didn't he just play the reserves YESTERDAY?! That would be more than once a week. QUOTE(JimH @ Jul 27, 2005 -> 02:46 PM) Yeah but you were b****ing at the manager for playing the reserves, and it's crazy to think the reserves shouldn't start once a week.
-
Wow, you have to be the most boring fan I've ever heard from. I'm passionate about this team, and when they play bad, I call it like I see it...and for the past two days, they have played BAD. Period. And that is whether you like it or not. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Jul 27, 2005 -> 02:44 PM) Nor do they start next week...or the week after that...or next month... So let's not s*** on this team just yet.
-
5 QUOTE(jackie hayes @ Jul 27, 2005 -> 02:43 PM) How many?
-
Yea, and seriously...what was with that?! QUOTE(Brian @ Jul 27, 2005 -> 02:43 PM) I thought throwing 4 straight fastballs to Sweeney would of worked.
-
Besides, I'm not even blaming just Gload...this team has SUCKED the past two days. What is this now, 5...FIVE...FIVE FIVE FIVE...one more time : *** FIVE *** errors in the span of 2 days against arguably the WORST team in the game?! Give me a break...I thought we were based on defense...sure as hell doesn't seem like it. I'm just glad the playoffs aren't starting tomorrow, because this team isn't playing like a playoff team right now. QUOTE(Y2HH @ Jul 27, 2005 -> 02:40 PM) No, "we" guys were never screaming for Gload...unlike a lot of these guys, I'm not a huge fan of Gload, never have been...he's a career minor league player for a reason. So to you.
-
No, "we" guys were never screaming for Gload...unlike a lot of these guys, I'm not a huge fan of Gload, never have been...he's a career minor league player for a reason. So to you. QUOTE(JimH @ Jul 27, 2005 -> 02:33 PM) You guys b**** and blame it on the manager every time this team screws up, that is totally ridiculous. You guys were also screaming for Gload, he is normally sure handed but he totally screwed that play up and opened the door to a huge inning.
-
Wow...what happend to the pitching and defense as of late? This team sucks right now. Thank god we aren't going into the playoffs RIGHT now. They need to step back and settle down. Wow...this is just bad baseball. OH, AND OZZIE...STOP PLAYING THE FING "B" TEAM FOR f***ING CHRIS SAKE!#@$
