I think it has more to do with Viz not pitching enough yet...he will get that speed back, but since he pitches once every 10 days his strength isn't returning. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ May 11, 2005 -> 02:34 PM) Cliff pitched great. Last year Vis threw 95-97. Now he barely hits 93. Overuse of the slider? -

Mostly, arm strength and ability to get rid of the ball fast. QUOTE(sox-r-us @ May 11, 2005 -> 02:15 PM) Honest question: Why can't a 1B play the 3B position? After all they do play that position against the left handed hitter .... My logic is if we could send Paulie to 3B, then we can have Frank play 1B and Carl as DH and send Crede's ass to the bench only to play late in games as defensive replacement for Frank (Crede goes to 3B and Paulie moves back to 1B) Just a thought.... -

I'd leave Dookie in the game...they can't hit him. If he tops 100 pitches, remove him after the inning. -

You see your comic strip there? I'm the big kid, your the little kid. I know I'm exaggerating, but WTF...I'm tired of this popup s***, and crappy ass pitchers dominating us like this. Duque vs whoever this bum is should have been a joke...an absolute JOKE...but it looks like two aces facing off. THATS SAD, and that will NOT get us into the playoffs as a serious threat. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ May 11, 2005 -> 01:36 PM) That is two whole games... care to explain the 24-7 record outside of those two games? They haven't failed game after game. They have had two, count em two, bad games. Quit exaggerating. -

Oh, and the Twins are winning again. We should just let them catch up to us instead of dragging out the pain. All in all, even if we lose, we had a .500 roadtrip, which is good...but when we have easy games like this, we need to be taking them. This team needs a rest, it looks like. -

I can't be serious? So far we have done this in EVERY game against the Rays. Had GOLDEN opportunties to score easy and didn't. And so far...we have lost both games because when they are in the same situations, they do NOT fail to score runs. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ May 11, 2005 -> 01:32 PM) Game after game? You can't be serious. -

Personally, I'm not any more impressed with the Twins offense than with our own. Marunaueou or however you spell his name isn't that special, hes no Frank Thomas. They are simply not folding under pressure, keeping their cool and doing what it takes to win, we are losing our cool, swinging from the heels, and f***ing up bases loaded no out opportunties GAME AFTER GAME. -

We need to break out of this. I have an idea on how...how about they all stop swinging for the fences and play like the small ball team they are built to be. Since Toronto, where for some reason we turned into the power hitting 04' Sox, everyones been hitting easy fly balls and popups. Put the bat on the ball to opposite field now, thank you. These guys are all out of their rhythm. -

We have been dominated this entire series by a group of pitching BUMS. :banghead Meanwhile...Minnesota keeps winning, even against good teams, while we have the opportunity to take an easy series from a BAD team and can't do it. Wow...this seems to happen every year. Oh, I forgot, it's almost June, we are supposed to give the Twins the division lead by then. -

Everytime we have opportunities like this we blow them. Loaded no outs 1 run. We let them do the same and they score 4 runs. We are winning this game right now, but this already looks like another loss, sadly. -
Tampa IS NOT a bad team, it's an often underestimated team. They have one of the top offenses in the majors, and their pitching is the type that can be "ON or OFF" depending on the day, and if they are on like last night, watch out. They are the AL's version of the Brewers, they can shut you down...or they can lose terribly.

I believe the reason they didn't call him Pods while in Milwaukee is because the D is silent. I'm not positive on this, but I think his name is pronounced "Posednik", not "PoDsednik". If that is the case, we can always call the fans, "The POSSEdniks". :headshake As for bringing BACK Credes Crew...that reeks of bandwagon hopping, otherwise it never would have went away.
