Willie Mo' Pena?! QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Mar 25, 2005 -> 03:14 PM) WHAT A PLAY BY WILLIE!

You are supposed to give quick play by play updates, Jabronie... Know yer damn role!

Where are the updates?

Hawk doesn't spew fluff...he's unbiased and speaks only the truth about the Sox. Me thinks there is some messed up stuff on this website right now. QUOTE(3E8 @ Mar 25, 2005 -> 02:23 PM) Hawk says this year's players are the most confident of the last four years. I don't know if that's fluff or not, but you know.

What did Timo do?! QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Mar 25, 2005 -> 02:08 PM) TIMO FOR GOLD GLOVE

This was all a big mistake...and I have the scoop. What happened was the Baseball Gods told their "injury peeps" to "injure one of those Chicago pitchers"...but when the news broke that Buehrle broke his foot, the Baseball Gods exclaimed, "Mark Burhrle?! You idiots...when we say injure one of those Chicago pitchers, we mean Prior or Wood...now go fix Buehrle and do your job properly." So the following day Buehrle is magically healed and today Kerry Wood misses his start due to a 'sore back'. I still wonder why I'm considered superstitious...

Bonds = DL. Alou is now free to play LF since Bonds won't be there. Hopefully ever again.

And by the way, your pr0n search button is broked I know it's just an animated gif and doesn't truly search, but it would be nice. Fix it. Now. QUOTE(qwerty @ Mar 23, 2005 -> 03:34 PM) She is not chinese and rather have this one in case if the other one offended someone some how.

Is she Japanese then? QUOTE(qwerty @ Mar 23, 2005 -> 03:34 PM) She is not chinese and rather have this one in case if the other one offended someone some how.

Whats with the smiling chinese girl that loops over and over? QUOTE(qwerty @ Mar 23, 2005 -> 03:31 PM) Wouldn't go that far at all.

Todays CLEE homer is a typical CLEE homer. They are down by 8 runs and he hits one. If they were down 8-7 in the bottom of the 9th, Carlos would rip 8 fouls (right size wrong shape), down the left field line before striking out to end the inning. -y2

Cotts? Major League hitters know he has a fastball...and um, a slower fastball. He has no other reliable pitches he can get over for strikes. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Mar 22, 2005 -> 04:02 PM) he was so good in the minors, what the hell. Does anyone remember him in the all star futures game at the cell. He was dominant, what happened -

w00t, go Sox! -
It's funny, but what a lot of people seem to hate about Hawk is why I like him. I enjoy having a 'homer' or what could only be called a 'fan' of the White Sox calling our games. I love it when he's biased, he should be...he should show pure 'fan' passion for the team he's calling games for...I don't need fair and impartial judgement in my sports announcers, I like it when he takes jabs at opposing teams and stands up and says things that we'd ALL love to say about some of these guys (like king Cub fan Jay M). When someone does something very stupid on the Sox, make no mistake, Hawk points it out...but he tries to see the bright side of everything the Sox do, even if he's blindly wrong at times...so am I, as a fan. Sometimes, we HAVE to be blind when it comes to following our favorite teams. If I wasn't forgiving and forgetting when it comes to this organization, I wouldn't be a fan of this team...neither would most of us. We don't choose the teams we love...not truly, they choose us. I can 'try' to hate the Sox because of the things Reinsdorf does, but deep down...I never will. So here we are, hoping...praying for that shot in the dark...and so is Hawk, so if you don't like it, the solution is rather simple. Stop listening. -y2

If you are right about this, you surly are DOABLE!!! QUOTE(Steff @ Mar 21, 2005 -> 04:58 PM) This is what I was told.. Mark is fine and it's been a tab bit exaggerated. Small stress fracture (which I guess is not really a "real" fracture but a "bend" of the bone and not really a "crack" in the bone ) of the bone that joins the top of the foot to the toe. Little bit of discomfort, but he's walking fine today and it's not even swollen. Having more tests. From the look and feel of it today, doesn't look/feel at all serious. What happened... Mark was out catching balls and he just went to move to scoop up a ball and his foot kind of went sideways and he heard a little snap. Initially thought it was just dislocated because it swelled immediately and he literally could not put any pressure on it (which sounds like where they (reporters) got the torn ligament assumption - and is in line with what I heard last night). So.. sounds like he's going to be fine.
-
At least this leaves a little room for hope, earlier today he was out 4-6 weeks for sure...if he's feeling better and walking without a limp, perhaps it's just a sprain and he could be back by opening day...a little hope is better than no hope. -y2

Cotts has had quite a few years to be developing more reliable pitches, and all I see is that fastball still. QUOTE(Texsox @ Mar 21, 2005 -> 10:50 AM) AAA would be the place to develop more reliable pitches.
-
I'll pass on Cotts until he develops more reliable pitches than a short-armed fastball. Cotts is not the answer, it takes hitters less than one at bat to figure out he will throw that fastball in a pinch, and they will knock it over the centerfield concourse when it happens. This lands on Bmac, and if not Bmac, Hermanson. -y2 QUOTE(Texsox @ Mar 21, 2005 -> 10:44 AM) Another route is stretching Cotts out. We still have a couple starters that have shown AAA flash in the system.
-
Yahoo Sports Official, Bmac gets the slot. All things considered, could be a blessing in disguise. If Bmac dominates, we could be looking at something special in the making, with 5 solid starters and a fallback in Conteras. -y2
-
Well, if our pitching is truly as deep as they claim it is, we should be able to hold our own until Mark returns, and at that point, it would put us over the top and we can go on a surge... Freddie, Contreras, Duque, Garland and (hopefully) Bmac need to step it up while Big Hurt and Mark are MIA...and when both return, it will boost the team huge. If it's only a hairline fracture, he could be back in 4 weeks, +2 for getting into game shape, so we are looking at May 1st or thereabouts...that is only about 4 starts...so for what it's worth, although it sucks, we cannot just give up on the season because one or two players go down...this team needs to rise above that type of adversity if we plan on going anywhere. QUOTE(retro1983hat @ Mar 21, 2005 -> 10:04 AM) Exactly!!!! We have to hope to stay about .500 until June 1 when he should be back to form.
-
If it turns out to be something else, and he's out longer, it could be the death knell of our season. Losing your ace for any period of time, especially an extended peroid (such as 4-6 weeks), can kill a season. We needed Burhrles innings this season...and now we won't get them for at least a month and a half, because after he does return, he's STILL not in game shape. I'm all for seeing Bmac, but remember who Bmac is replacing...a sure fire pitcher. -y2 QUOTE(rangercal @ Mar 21, 2005 -> 09:19 AM) ^^^^everybody just needs to look at this post to know that mark is out 4-6 weeks.
