  1. You now owe him a royalty. QUOTE(CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Mar 10, 2005 -> 03:29 PM) As long as you dont say credepopsup you won't have to pay royalties to credepopsup.
  2. You mean Neil "I have one pitch I can throw for strikes which is a fastball" Cotts? Not suprising...everytime I see Cotts in, someone walks. QUOTE(3E8 @ Mar 10, 2005 -> 03:23 PM) cotts walks batter on 4 straight pitches.
  3. Don't be a playa' hata' yo'! QUOTE(robinventura23 @ Mar 10, 2005 -> 03:22 PM) Wow, that's probably been in more game threads than anything I can remember.
  4. Bmac dominating. Iggy flashing leather. Peeps swinging, stealing and scoring. Sox dominating. -y2 QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Mar 10, 2005 -> 03:16 PM) Too lazy to read 4 pages, update please. Score? who looks good? who looks bad?
  5. Unfortunatly, 3-6 games are more than MOST people should be playing, even those out of college. I see people drop big dollars on games because they make decent money at whatever job they have, but they also carry a debt load of like 10k+ on their credit cards...not fiscally responsible in my opinion. But that's just me. If you don't have the cash to pay off your debt, you shouldn't be gambling away even more of your cash on 15-30 casino games. The boom of this game worries me for a LOT of people. QUOTE(KWs OK for Me @ Mar 9, 2005 -> 06:23 PM) For us college students 3-6 isn't quite a luck game. But I agree, at a casino low stakes isn't the way to do it. 3-6 no limit or pot limit the pots can get good enough sized to get people (fellow college students) to think. You can easily get over a hundred dollar pot.
  6. That's pretty insane to play 25/50 against friends...not something I'd ever do. Tournament games are more my style when it involves friends, that way I don't feel bad at the end of the night. You guys play with quite large buyins for friendly games. -y2 QUOTE(Steff @ Mar 9, 2005 -> 04:58 PM) We've done both. The 25-50 game is a fast hour. And the pot has been up to $700 a few times. Usually only 4 or 5 guys play in that one. The other way (between $85 and $150 buy in) is a game when there are 15 or 16 people and several hours to kill.
  7. Do you run your tournaments on buy-in? Say, everyone pays 50$ or whatever the asking price is, then they are given a certain amount of chip value, such as 500$ in chips each, and play until only top 3 remain? That is usually how tourny play works...if you are doing actual 25/50$ blinds, that could potentially make each hand worth over 1K. I was in Vegas last weekend playing 15/30, potsizes were anywhere from 600-900 per round depending on the rest of the table. You get AA on deal in a 2-4 or 4-8 game and raise max, everyone will still bet against you, in a 15/30 game you get AA and bet/raise on 15/30, you'll see 80% of the table fold...that aspect of the game is totally removed from low limit games, it's why I call them luck games. -y2 QUOTE(Steff @ Mar 9, 2005 -> 04:50 PM) I've never played in a 3-6 or a 15-30 game... we have tournements at our house and start the blinds at 25-50 and raise them every deal a round. I never have, but Jim's played at the boats. I usually play blackjack.
  8. 3-6 is a luck game, and low money no limit is also a luck game, becomes only about drawing people to bet against you, who usually will only call a low money bet, preventing a raise in an attempt to draw out a weak hand. 15-30 is bare minimum requirement to play real games, otherwise it becomes the cards you're dealt and nothing more. You can't bluff a person out of a 12$ raise, but you sure as hell can in a 15-30 game. -y2 QUOTE(Steff @ Mar 9, 2005 -> 04:38 PM) Empress in Joliet is supposed to be opening a room in April. I hate that boat to play blackjack.. but if the room is decent we'll probably go.
  9. In that case no STFUppercut for you...but for everyone else. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Mar 7, 2005 -> 05:08 PM) Just for the record I was being sarcastic...
  10. This is for those of you who are actually being serious about ST games : STFUPPERCUT!
  11. Cotts needs to work on a third pitch he can actually throw. He throws FASTBALLS constantly and almost nothing else with any confidence, so yes, I think Cotts SHOULD be in AAA for a bit, but a lot of people disagree with me. QUOTE(qwerty @ Mar 7, 2005 -> 04:18 PM) At getting lefties out he is most likely. Can anyone really argue that is would be best for cotts down the line that he needs another year of triple a to work on some things?
  12. No, but as a bench player, coming off the bench his stats were exceptional last season in clutch situations...THAT is what is important. QUOTE(qwerty @ Mar 7, 2005 -> 04:09 PM) Is a .269 career average, .306 obp, and .691 ops something to be excited about?
  13. Timo comes through in the clutch. Take last season for instance...go take a look at Timo's average when he NEEDED to get a hit. On the flipside of that coin, what did JoBo accomplish? Batting like .190? :P QUOTE(qwerty @ Mar 7, 2005 -> 04:03 PM) Why? What does timo do.
  14. A lot of this has to do with the players getting into ML ready game shape, trying out new things, trying different approach angles, etc...you know, the stuff you SHOULD be doing in ST. Take for instance Cora waving people around 3B, and a lot of you KNOW baseball and question this...Cora is simply attempting to figure out who he CAN and CANNOT wave around in a similar situation during REAL games. Obviously after today he knows who he can and cannot take risks with when it comes to close plays, and that's what you are supposed to do in ST. A lot of pitchers will work on weaker pitches, and try to gain accuracy with pitches they usually throw a little wild, so they won't change up...and you may see fastball, fastball, fastball...which in regular season you may never see. Look no further than the NY Yankees in ST...they have 0 (ZERO) wins thus far this spring...do you really think that will carry into the real season with THAT team? Hell no...they are practicing, they are training...and I'm happy to see the Sox doing the same thing...winning a ton of games in ST means nothing. Just ask the Yankees who bomb out in ST every single season. -y2
  15. I recognize it, as I went to a high school on Pulaski. ;D QUOTE(Pauly8509CWS @ Mar 7, 2005 -> 12:16 PM) As a high school student I couldn't be happier, White Sox baseball on a day off that nobody recognizes- Pulaski Day!!!!
  16. There are no such bars on the Northside. You'd probably have to go down to a southern suburb for the sports bar type of place that caters to Sox fans, like Smokey Bones, a suburban sports bar that actually has channel changers/audio at every table. And BW3's is like Cleveland Indian nation...but I do like BW3's. QUOTE(deezpac @ Mar 7, 2005 -> 12:32 PM) I live in the Wrigleyville / Lakeview area and would like to find a fun bar where i can watch my sox and not be surrounded by moron cub fans. I'm going to BW3's today in hopes that i can get a tv but with the cubs game on ESPN i don't know how much luck i'll have. Anyone know of a place where i can go? I'd really like to get audio along with the tv but i can deal as long as the beer flows cheaply. thanks
  17. I want to see the Pods we are seeing now. He's on pace to have like 325 triples and bat .825 with about 70 SB
  18. No, Crede happened so it remained 3-1, could have been more. We got a run on a bases loaded no outs double play that scored a run. We've also stranded runners all day long. Pods has been one of the brightest offensive spots. -y2 QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Mar 2, 2005 -> 04:11 PM) so Crede homered? How'd we get the 1 run?
  19. Marte happened. 3-1 Rocks. Then Crede happened. Stayed 3-1 Rocks. Being unable to put Pods up every at bat happened. Don't worry, only 1st game of ST. If Pods were up 1-9 today we'd never be out...the bases would look like a merry-go-round.
  20. I just thought I'd share this...but : I And not in a homosexual way, either.
  21. As for taking the Red Line from that direction, I don't really recommend it. Since you have a car, drive. I also recommend taking a few hours after the game and hitting Jimbos or something, as traffic can be congested in that area right after games for quite a bit...so if you don't mind sitting in traffic, leave right away. Choose one: (I will use only major streets to keep this simple and I'm only giving directions after you are already on I94) Choice #1: Take I94 (obviously) to the Pershing Road exit, take a left Go straight on Pershing until you get to Halsted Street and take a right Go straight on Halsted until you get to 35st Street and take another right, this will lead you right to US Cellular Parking (there will be cheaper parking BEFORE the actual park from parking lot owners, etc.) Choice #2: Take I94 to 31st Street exit (this will make you PASS US Cellular), take a left Go straight until you get to Wallace and take a left Go straight until you get to 35th Street and take a left, this will lead you to parking. This is the easiest way to go, as if you try to get off at 35th street, they will NOT let you drive that direction on 35th and will divert you to Pershing anyway, so taking one of the other two routes will allow you to get their easier with less traffic/police telling you where you can/cannot drive.
  22. There are probably 7 teams in the AL that would offer Thomas more than 3M per year right now, even while he's hurt, guaranteed money -- as in, no incentives. So yea...like Qwerty said, you lose. -y2
  23. Aren't we all. QUOTE(DonkeyKongerko @ Feb 28, 2005 -> 11:55 AM) Damn, can't they broadcast this today? I'm achin for some White Sox baseball.
  24. Everyone is an "expert" until something out of the ordinary happens. Point was made earlier, the season where the Royals were living in dreamland, the following year they were considered a dangerous team by all of the "experts", and when the Royals fell flat on their faces where were these experts to take credit for missing the mark? Experts love to take credit when their "guess" turns out right, but mostly ignore what they've said in the past if they are wrong. -y2
  25. That's partly the point...we make his name so fearsome, nobody would DARE turn Tadpole into Asshole out of ph33r of being burninated. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Feb 28, 2005 -> 11:47 AM) It's too easy to turn 'Tadpole' into ''Asshole".
